  1. This. Instead of pulling out they should have announced that they will donate the same amount they pay for the commercials to a child protection charity. Maybe we should stand next to the people from PSU and the Penn State community and not demonize them. It was the act of one sicko and the non-actions of a few. After all 99.9% of all Penn Staters are as innocent as you and I. Yes, but that 0.1% are the people that were the core of the University...not your standard 0.1%.
  2. We're quibbling over minutiae. Saying he did something is technically correct. It is like giving a village a task of moving a mountain, and having the man who owns the largest excavator move one grain of sand. We can go over this all day. The bottom line is, Paterno didn't do what he should have done. End of story. I agree and I have gone into this more then I would have liked to. I am passionate about the law and being innocent until proven guilty. As Mr. Paterno did fulfill his legal obligation...it doesn't mean we have to like the law and I am glad that PA got it changed in 2007. The authorities need evidence that Mr. Paterno knew more, but until then he is innocent. If Mr. Paterno wanted to he could get a good lawyer and sue the state for wrongful termination. Either way it makes me sick and I am done talking about it...I would be going after everyone involved if I was the attorney general. How is it wrongful termination? He wasn't terminated for breaking a law. HIs firing was deemed the best interested of the university as was Bill Callahan, as was Frank Solich, as was Marvin Sanders. Those guys broke no law. Should they have sued. I really don't get what point you are trying to make.
  3. Looks great, but he has faced by and large a horrid schedule...
  4. Yes do remember. There was a monster roaming about and the people that have the most power to stop it....did nothing. Sandusky is sick in the head and should be locked up. He has serious issues. Everyone else made conscious decision to protect him, not report him, and to allow him to continue on. They are as sick and disgusting as he is imo.
  5. Nice post. Thanks for sharing that. I mean no disrespect, but you are not still Penn State. Actually that died over a decade ago when PSU powers chose loyalty to a monster over protecting innocent, disadvantaged children. We just didn't recognize the rotting decay because they were diligent at covering the stench. Penn State will never again be "Penn State". Happy Valley? Come on. Thing have forever changed. I'd move on and find a new team if I were you. The people that allowed this were in high positions, had been team captains, and were considered iconic humanitarians. They have betrayed their fans in a way that is beyond repair in my mind. That institution is no longer worth your fandom, imo.
  6. Excellent! Find an organization that has something to do with kids and volunteer. I do that already. But I found out that the PSU folks are asking for funds if you want to support the victims of this tragedy. (I posted it under another thread.) Think I'll send them a check...Join me? First of all, I'm not trying to be an ass. But why do people always want to raise money for victims of a crime. I could see if they had lost their house, car or any other personal things due to a crime and were not able to get things replaced. This is a very horrible thing that has happened and I feel for the victims, but I do not see what money will do for them. Is it for legal council? I am just wanting to know. ...and how much comes off the top for PSU? And how much will be swindled? Uhm, no thanks.
  7. The powers that be knew some things were going on with the Monster. Despite that, they let him bring children onto their campus even after they had told him not to. Now I understand that a lot, if not most, of the people at PSU were not involved or were totally ignorant to the situation, but there were far too many people in high positions that allowed the Monster to continue doing what he did including current staff members of the football team. I'm all for honoring or doing something to help the victims, but not the University. They turned a blind eye while children were being raped on their campus. The University of Nebraska should do NOTHING to honor that place. We really don't know the full depth of this debauchery, but imagine if our team honored PSU and 6 months from now the story gets even uglier. With how PSU handled this debauchery, they deserve ZERO honor from the University of Nebraska.
  8. So inmates hand out punishment, but who fixes the molested boys? Ignoring this type of situation so it can be sorted out later only leads to more victims in this type of situation. Given JoPa's position, had he acted more diligently as opposed to just doing the bare bones minimum, it is highly likely there would be less victims.
  9. It doesn't sound like you are in a wait and see mode. You already found him guilty. Even if Joe had done investigating he would've been lied to when asking questions. Plus why should Joe believe some grad assistant over a defense coach that he has known much longer? It's like saying that a friend you had known for a very long time had done something terrible and yet some new guy comes up and tells you he did do something bad and yet you will believe the new guy? I think not. People always get a sense of something more could've been done after the fact. This was not some new guy. This GA had been a QB for PSU. JoPa had known him for years, probably not as closely as he had known the Zandusky, but this is nowhere near the situation you described.
  10. Hey everyone. Not sure what happened with the lawsuit business, but the new ppl on the HP site seem like a bunch of d-bags, so here I am...
