  1. Can't believe we win and drop a spot in the AP. Whatever.

Serious question, we win next week and beat Wisky in the B1G do people really think we can crack the top 10? Our only losses to an 11-0 OSU and a higher ranked UCLA.

Do we have to win the Rose to hope for a final season top 10? Seems we are still on the outside looking in with the teams ahead of us.

UCLA was ranked below us. After beating USC (not to mention that they beat us), it only made sense for them to leapfrog us. No one else ranked just above us lost, and Oregon and KSU weren't going to drop that far.

  2. Who cares about AP. the coaches know a lot more than these damn biased sport writers who rank there own team 5 spots higher than they should be, or that douche bag Missouri writer who always ranks nebraska barely in the top 25 with a 9-2 record. If we win out and win the rose bowl we will finish top 10 and set us up for a top 5 preseason for next year.

I agree with this. The polls don't matter right now unless you're trying to be one of the top two for the championship game. If we take care of our business, we will end up in the top ten. If we don't, who cares if we're #18 or 20?

  3. I didn't see anyone post this anywhere so ehre is what the university emailed people in east stadium yesterday.

    We need your help!

At the last home football game tomorrow, we have a SURPRISE card stunt planned. All season ticket holders sitting in the East Stadium (except those in the balcony) are asked to play a very important role in making the stunt a success. In order to make the biggest impression, we ask that you do not share our plans publicly until after the game.

The card show will occur when the band plays Hail Varsity during pregame. This is the last song of the pregame band show which will begin immediately after senior introductions at approximately 2:20 p.m. Please make plans now to be in your seats ready to assist us no later than 2:00 p.m. The cards will be pre-placed on your seats and card stunt cue card leaders will be in position in front of each section of East Stadium. Therefore, immediately after the National Anthem is performed during pregame, please be ready to pay attention and follow the signals of the leaders. They will cue you with directions on when to sit, when to hold up the card side 1, and when to flip the cards to side 2. There is also information printed on the cards. The card show is staged to face the press box (west) and plans are in place to capture this very special moment on video and still photos.

Thank you for your assistance, we could not do it without you. If you have passed your East Stadium tickets on to others, please also pass on this information.

Thank you and Go Big Red!

Ummm...if they asked you to keep it quiet, why are you posting it here?

  4. Oops, sorry, I didn't see this one.

You said it better than me. It was a one-sided hatchet job. Why didn't they mention Compton, Smith, and Stafford defending their coach later in the week?

And why did they keep saying, "Never lay a hand on a player"?! Pelini never touched him. And they kept saying, "Never make personal comments about a player's family." I haven't heard anything about that, have you?

  5. I've stopped watching Game Day because I just don't care what they think anymore. But I'm watching today because I have nothing better to do, and damned if they don't forgive Tuberville for slapping a GA, while hammering on Pelini repeatedly. They didn't even mention that Stafford defended Pelini in the media later in the week. I can't stand these dudes. Fowler's Colorado bias is just tangible.

  6. No doubt about it. There isn't another running back in the NCAA I'd rather have playing for us. Other than Burkhead of course.

I love Ameer and what he has been able to do, and he has done more than earned his role on the field. I think he is incredibly good RB, but I don't think he is the best option we have at the same time. Where he lacks, we have two other backs to pick that up. Cross for the short yard plays, which end up being longer than needed lol, and Heard, who is just a natural RB, who has great handle on the ball, and just has that RB mentality on knowing where the hole is. Heard is by far my favorite back we have, but Ameer was given a shot, and he hasn't let us down. Just wish we could see more of these two great backs a lot more. With Heard's hammy injury, I can see why we have limited him, but we burned Cross' redshirt for no reason, I would have only imagined that we would have been taking advantage of it more than we have this year, with the exception of, maybe, the Penn State game.

"Burned it for no reason"?! He scored two touchdowns last week! He's our goal line battering ram. We've burned a lot worse redshirts than that.

  7. I'm thinking the FOUR double-digit SECOND HALF comebacks ought to be generating more national play.. ( I know they mentioned yesterday that the 3 were already the most in the country). For sportswriters allegedly always looking for a new angle, this OUGHT to be enticing copy (especially since the acknowledged format to beat Nebraska is to force them to come from behind and beat you through the air with TMart)

Just imagine the trees that would be sacrificed if this were the Doomers or Urbanites or Duckies pulling this off...................

We just need Stewart Mandel to pick against us, like he has for the last four consecutive weeks.

  8. I don't know that this kind of behavior is unusual. How many of us were yelling at the tv, pointing fingers, and dropping f-bombs when we were down two touchdowns. I know I was. We were playing terribly; we needed to get it fixed. What do you expect Bo to say? "Gather round, lads. Let's put a little more oomph into our effort, gentlemen. Now, run off and be lively."

  9. The caller was a whiner, but I don't know how you can dispute one single point. Bo's reputation for verbally abusing the officials costs the Huskers penalty yardage in nearly every game. Whether consciously, like the penalty against the bench, or subconsciously, I think refs don't like Bo Pelini, and so he does himself, and thus the Huskers, no favors when it comes to penalty yards in a game.

  10. Anyone who believes that the PI call was warranted is crazy.

Looks like the DB is making contact with Kenny's arm under the elbow and attempting to pull it away from the ball to me.

Also for anyone that disagrees with the Adams penalty, Watch what #27 does to Abdulah near the sideline of that play (I believe around the NU 30). If Adams doesn't warrant a personal foul, that sure does.

and there you have it......the pic that settles it.

You're right. It does. The DB is playing the ball. There was incidental contact. No flag should be thrown on this play. If this call was warranted, then so were all the other PI calls against Husker DBs this game. I bet you'd argue the opposite way on those calls though. The call doesn't have to be right to validate our victory is what you don't seem to understand. It happened. The game is over and we won.

KCMO - question - straight up - are you a Husker fan, or are you a complete and total troll?

This is the first really good look at that play I've gotten, and if anything Adams should've been flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct. Looked to me like he was trying to pull Kenny down, and took the flop as soon as he realized the refs were looking.

I thought flopping only occurred in basketball and soccer!

  12. Watching Oregon score on every drive, I just like to imagine what it would be like to play well all of the time. We play so awesome sometimes, but we play so stupid at other times. What would we be like if we played well all of the time? a sleeping giant, indeed
