  1. Stats? Sounds like he may be done at half

13 of 15 for 189 yards and 2 tds. Sounds like their running back did most of the damage. Does Nebraska have an offer to Johnny's receiver River Cracraft? If not, he needs one for the all-name team. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CCIQqQIwAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Franchosantamargarita.patch.com%2Farticles%2Ffootball-santa-margarita-72-carson-0&ei=P2lUUN6kBKqG2gWzmID4Bw&usg=AFQjCNHsgba828Tf_l8DoyWnrsfdRQy-vg&sig2=6fzUTyFshWdi2ZizigdFAg

  2. They made a good point on the Hail Varsity radio show tonight that after all Penn St. has been through they lost 7 players so far from that debacle. Granted most were starters. So the fact that we have lost four 4* recruits in less than 6months is a little concerning.

  3. A friend of mine who's in the know just texted me that Chase Rome has left the team. The f**k? Is all I could say.We are screwed on an already short- handed dline. Toby Johnson just shot to the top of our most wanted board for next year...

  4. I have supported Bo thinking we have a coach that will always put a quality defense on the field. Let's give him time with the offense. Boy was I wrong...the defense is actually the weak link and does not look like it has the personnel to run Bo's scheme and not sure if Bo can figure it our either. There are serious questions about if Bo is the guru we thought he could be or did he just have the players at OU, LSU, and then Suh. I give him this season and likely one more. If it is not figured out, we have got to go get someone else. Come 2014 I want to be playing in BCS playoffs or being considered a perennial team that can get there.

So, here is my short list of who we HAVE to look at seriously:

Chris Petersen - always puts quality teams on the field. Boise St. could have easily not shown up certain games where they were big favorites but nope they always show up and often upset the big boys. NU has problems showing up for games. Petersen plays to win and he gets it done more often than not. I never feel like Boise St. is out of the game. Last night, I knew we were done at the start of the second half.

Gary Patterson - solid coach who gets more out his team than most. Another solid track record, could recruit Texas and would represent the university well. Could build a solid defense and running game.

Kirby Smart - runs the defense that we should be running here at NU. Alabama is NU from the 90's and plays aggressive downhill defense. He would be a guy I'd take a long interview with and see what he is all about. He will land a head coaching job soon.

+1 -- I've also always been a Rich Rodriguez fan, even though I doubt many will agree. Curious to see what he does at Arizona.

Chris Peterson- wont come here for reasons already mentioned

Garry Patterson- no way he leaves the recruiting hotbed of Texas to come here. That might be why he's done so well-cause he's in Texas.

Kirby Smart- great defensive coordinator at a big time SEC school. Sound familiar? See Bo atLSU.

Flu- do you have $9 million to give to a coach? Maybe our boosters don't have as much money as you think they do...

  5. I followed him most through his recruitment and I was pumped when he signed with us. I think he has the potential to be our next NFL corner that's drafted. I just hope his ankle is fully healed. Terry Joseph and Bo seem to think it is.

  6. I agree, the D left a little to be desired. But as been mentioned (countless times) Bo and JP didn't know exactly what they were going to face. This week, they have film on UCLA and they know who the quarterback will be in prep-star Hundley. We will likely face more speed at the skill positions. The oline may be a toss up because imo, S Miss had a good, experienced oline (left tackle and guard were all-conference). So we will know much more about our defense come 10pm Sat.

  7. Why does everyone have Michigan State ranked so high? I don't get it. They have no offense outside of Leveon Bell. None. Yeah, the defense is impressive, but it's not good enough to rank them as high as people are.

I don't think offenses peak in week 1. The passing game will be fine.

That wasn't a matter of "peaking". There was no passing game. I'm not necessarily saying the offense is gonna be as bad as it looked against Boise State all year long, but your guys didn't give me a reason not to believe it, either.

There are some things to correct (mostly stupid unforced errors) but it's not like the passing game was anemic. I guess we could have started the season with Central Michigan. Maxwell would have thrown for 280 yards and 2-3 TDs and everyone would say how good he looked. We'll see, but I think the passing game is going to be just fine. Just gotta run more play-action. Having Bell back there as a threat should keep defenses honest, and WRs open. Plus Sims is a beast for us at TE. I think it would be unwise to write off our offense after 1 game.

Agreed, but you guys lost a lot in Cunningham, Martin, and Nichols leaving. Smart teams will load the box and make Maxwell throw

to the inexperienced WRs. That doesnt bode well for an offense, see Nebraska during the Callahan days.

  8. Looks like Carnes days are numbered. Hope to see Marrow in there quite a bit. Z. Anderson behind Santos at 3rd string is surprising since many on here seemed to think during his recruitment he'd come in and be starting.

I thought I heard on the radio this morning that Seisy was hurt and that should limit his playing time at least for this week. I can't remember what they said was wrong with him though. It didn't sound serious.

Seisay has an ankle injury and may play a few snaps tomorrow, so you're right, I don't think its that serious.
