  1. **Was listening to radio show here in Baton Rouge with LSU recruiting analyst Derek Ponamsky... a caller called in and asked about LSU's interest in Alonzo Moore, and Ponamsky stated that Moore is going to Nebraska... take that for what it's worth, but he is usually spot-on!

Awesome info FLU. If comes to fruition, lessens the blow of Fuller. In a small class like this, Moore is that much more valuable since he can play on either side of the ball. It's almost like getting 2 recruits!

  2. Just from watching the October 2011 highlights above.... he looks just like Taylor Martinez to me. I see Tommy as effective against the talent he's up against at his current level as Taylor is up against the talent he is playing at his level. The difference: Tommy is playing against high school talent... Taylor is playing against D1 talent. When Tommy makes the jump next fall can he really be as effective as he is now with that whole new level and beat Taylor out... i'm not sure about that yet.

Tommy Armstrong threw 48 TDs to 4 INTs in his junior and senior year.

We all WISH that Taylor had been as effective against Div. 1 talent as Tommy was against high school talent.

That said, does anybody really think that he's going to beat out Taylor next fall? I think the realistic plan is for Tommy to redshirt in the fall, and then compete for the starting job when he's a sophomore and Carnes is a senior, after Taylor graduates.

FYI, Beck told Armstrong at his in-home visit last month that he will NOT be redshirting next season.

If true, guess that probably means Jamal is sticking to WR...

  3. Josh is the son of letterman Tom Banderas who played TE for the skers in 1985-87. Tom was on Big Red Wrap-up this year and they showed highlights of Josh. Stated he needs to put on weight but can be a legit linebacker. Not sure if he'll get a scholarship though. Most likely a walkon since his last name isn't Cotton. J/k!

  4. Sounds like Katz is front runner for RC depending on any other coaching changes.

This is somewhat of a surprise. I think Garrison would have been a better fit. He's been with the program longer and probably knows better than Kaz what Bo is looking for. Also he is supposedly extremely organized which is a valuable trait for the RC.

  5. I thought so too, especially the point regarding the reason that Bo is on so many other teams' radar. I had no idea that is buyout was so low. THAT needs to be taken care of right away.

Some on here lately would argue the buyout is too much and needs to be lowered immediately....

  6. I still have reservations about how his year was handled nonetheless. It's a nice PR piece and I think everyone knows JT is a great kid. There wasn't anyone more enthusiastic to become a Husker than him. Knowing that he was learning a new position and trying to play it at a D1 level while doing that, I think there were some things that could have been done to get the ball in his hands while he learned. I don't understand how you don't scheme to get the ball in his hands 3 times a game minimum, practice habits or not. He was a quarterback and he could have had a wildcat package for instance.

While you make some valid points.................and I would have loved to seem him on the field, from a team perspective, how do you allow him some packages and reps if you have told the entire team your playing time is earned on the practice field.....and then there are exceptions??

Seems to me the whole chemistry is affected if 1 is allowed to dog it and is rewarded with PT, and others are held to a differing standard.

By the way, the article I thought was more than just a PR piece. It does answer some questions most of us had about WHY he wasn't seeing the field. Love his attitude now and hope it translates quickly ............maybe as soon as Jan 2........!

Well said Comish. Was re-watching the Ohio St game last night and there was a play in the redzone where Jamal made a great move on the DB and was wide open on a short post route and even had time to put his hand up. Taylor waited about a second too long, threw it high and missed him. Not to bag on Taylor, but that play was on him.

    Not to say Jamal 100% catches that ball, but if the pass was put on him (there was a nice lane to throw as well) I think he catches it. Then who knows where his confidence goes from there. My guess is he doesn't drop that ball against MINN;

Merry Christmas everyone! Just wanted to share a great article by Jon Nytawa (sp?) Sounds like Jamal's getting back on track and hope he gets the chance to show it in the bowl game. I think we all know how special he could be. Forgot about that drop he had in the Minnesota game...truly shows how much of the game is mental sometimes.

  8. Win 9 games in 13' and he wont' be here in 14' -

    Steve Pederson is that you?

Have you looked at the schedule? If he only wins 9 games it means he likely lost to the only 2 difficult games he had (michigan/penn state). He also loses to either Michigan State or Iowa...which means no appearance in the B1G championship game for the 3rd season in a row. It also means he finishes the season 1-3...during a season when we had 9 wins essentially built into the schedule. That'll be a tough finish, and a tough sell to a fanbase that likely just endured a 7-8 win season the year prior.

This statement is slightly ignorant Chris. Do you truly know how good or bad the freshmen/sophomores are at MSU, MINN, IOWA, etc. are? Maybe coach Kill will turn out to be a better coach than you think; maybe Northwestern is a top 10 team that year. You don't know, none of us do. All that aside, I do agree that 2013 will be an important year. We at least need to make the conference championship game. If not, Bo may rightly be on his way out then.

  9. Will Muschamp is using bowl prep as an interview for interim OC Brian White with the game itself his "2nd interview" I think Bo might be doing the same here with JP, although I don't see JP messing up his "2nd interview" with Bo calling the plays in the bowl game LOL.
