Do most of you guys want Archie as the next AD? Or who would be on your shortlist?

When you're asking Bo to reconfirm his commitment to Nebraska, note the name on the shirt he's wearing. Yeah, I'd think it's great if he's going to be all rah-rah, Nebraska forever, I'm your guy. That would be nice. But we also have to realize this is a business and he's a businessman, not just a coach. This isn't the 70s anymore, and salaries aren't modest. We're paying him three million bucks to coach here, and he's got to consider seriously if someone offers him 3.5 million, or four. He'd be dumb not to.
Near as I can remember, Bo only had one game with a timeclock blunder this year. May have had something to do with a first-year OC, but who knows. If we're claiming that no coaches beyond their third year have time management blunders, that's bogus.
You're welcome to continue pointing out every single mistake Bo makes. He makes a lot of them. He points them out as much as you do, actually. But if that's all you're going to talk about, don't expect to be taken seriously.
Husker fans haven't taken each other seriously since the Solich firing, actually it started before that as we had slid fairly far toward Shreveport losses. I understand the Rah, Rah, Rah, Osborne hired Pelini so lets all sit around and hold hands and sing folk songs and be happy beating terrible teams and losing to some not so great ones. I don't really expect to be taken seriously with the rah rah crowd but theres many of us out there tired of all these failed experiments. As booster start to wane, we will move on to the next, hopefully we grab someone like tOSU did
That is exactly what Pedey so ignorantly thought. He was certain he could get Urban to come here. He was wrong and he set us back another 4 years. Pedey shouldve known better but he didn't. Face it man, Nebraska isn't a destination job for guys like Urban Meyer. Maybe for Turner or a Scott Frost, but not for any of the top 5/10 coaches in America.

Damn the BIG is turning into the SEC Lite. Wonder if there was actually a playoff how situations like this would be handled. Would Coker just miss one game if Iowa won? Or could he play in the next round?

Regarding the amount on the title, it was more than likely tax related for the dealership regarding a trade-in than anything sneaky by a player.
Exactly.
If anyone wants to bother looking up the follow up stories they'll discover that Thad actually got raped by the dealership on his trade in and this allegedly wonderful deal was nothing of the sort.
...but then again that would disabuse some people of what they want to believe and we can't have that.
Yeah, I know several people that end up with a zero on the sales price on the title so they don't have to pay sales tax. Happens all the time.
Why wouldn't the guy that owns the dealership give that as an answer then? Seems weird the owner didn't know what the hell was going on. Just like Gene Smith didn't know what was going on, right Buckeyes?

Another interesting tweet:
Zaire/Iese/Lambert/Diggs/Seisay lets be blackshirt legends 2gether fellas!!
Wonder if this kid plans to do anything about those 3 uncommitted fellas? Hopefully.
Interesting indeed. I think Lambert and Iese are ours, but if we could steal Diggs that would be amazing. Go to work Mo!
-
As Paul stated above, his GPA is lower so he needs a higher ACT score (19 or 20) to make up the difference. Wonder if any of these kids take an ACT prep class?

Glad to have u N Mo! Much props to coach Raymond. Corey's been working his tail off this year. Awesome news!

This car situation just blows my mind. Not like there probably aren't a few dudes here riding dirty, but we were cleared when EMart got busted in his 1997 Olds Aurora...ouch. If I had to put money on it, I would say a majority of college athletes should probably be in similar rides (cost wise). I know I was riding in something similar and I worked during college. Anyways back to point:
2007 Chrysler 300 <20000 miles KBB value for Columbus area around $11500. Actual purchase price of car according to public documents: $0. Weird.
"Public records show that in 2009, a 2-year-old Chrysler 300 with less than 20,000 miles was titled to then-sophomore linebacker Thaddeus Gibson. Documents show the purchase price as $0.
Mauk could not explain it. "I don't give cars for free," he said. Gibson said he was unaware the title on his car showed zero as the sales price. "I paid for the car, and I'm still paying for it," he said, declining to answer further questions." -from actual Dispatch article (yes I know it was in May of this year, but still...)
Dude must have had one hell of a co-signer.

Wow gives Urban Liars newly swayed recruits something to think about over the dead period. No clue how the scumbag Gene Smith still has his job at this point or for that matter his douchebag sidekick Gordon "Im glad Tressell didn't fire me" Gee.
Liar, scumbag, douchebag?
Perhaps Rex should take over the posting duties.
1. Urban Meyer is a known liar.
2. Gene Smith is scum. No clue how he still has a job
3. Gordon Gee wears clip-on bow ties = SuperDouche.
4. Rex is a very smart dog.

As I've read this topic this thought came to me: We as fans and even the media to some extent know who we would like to see as our next DC. However, I wonder what the players think? I wonder who they would like to see become their next DC? They are the ones who are going to have to develop a relationship or deepen a relationship in the case of JP. They are the ones who are going to have to take direction possibly from a new person. They are the ones who are going to have to possibly impress 'the new guy'. Since they is a 'black out' with regards to social media we won't know until the DC is chosen but I would love to be a fly on the wall when it happens. I would suspect that most of the players who have been with JP for the past couple of years are pretty dedicated to him. If he moves up the transition could be less of a change vs. bringing in a new guy, who might be really good but it will still be somewhat of a change. It will be interesting to say the least. I'm still torn. I like the idea of Stoops and an outside hire but the development of a guy who is already in our ranks makes for an interesting choice as well. We'll see.
I believe its been mentioned in other posts that the players want JP...

Thank God we're not playing Texass in the bowl game...if ShaggyBevo got their hands on this...

For those of you in the know, how much of a difference in talent level is there from 5a division 1 vs. 5a 2? I thought it might be interesting to see southlake Carroll vs Steele in a +1 type game.
-
FYI Tommy's championship game vs Spring Dekany is Sat December 17@ 8pm on Fox Sports Southwest if you get it. Sadly I got rid of the sports package on Dish so I won't be watching it. You may be able to stream it online though. Also Southlake Carroll plays FB Madison? at 4 the same day. Should be a good one as well.
Go Tommy! Husker Nation will be with you!

Lane Grindle? and sipple said on BRWU last night they thought if it was JP to be promoted, the announcement may come tommorrow at his presser. Regardless, they thought it would be soon.
-
Nabity is a good, instinctive player. Had his name called a lot in the B championship game vs Crete.
-
My bad, thanks for the correction Fridge. That makes much more sense now, though the fieldturf at the Shoe does look pretty new
-
Anyone else watch the Indiana/OSU game and notice the shiny new field at the Shoe? Named after current New York Yankee and former OSU outfielder Nick Swisher. Didnt catch how much he dropped on it, but i just think it would be cool to have such a high profile stadium's field be named after me. Dude's a pretty cool cat. Never would have guessed he went to Ohio State. Would have pegged him more for a Pac 12 type guy.

You remember the B student in high school? You know, the one who's vice-president of the student body, sixth man off the bench on the basketball team, gets to go on the double-date to prom with the prom king and queen? That's Nebraska as long as Bo is coach. Pretty good, you know, but never on top.
Bo is a very good coach, but he's not a great one. This sort of letdown have just happened too many times. Obviously he is not going to get fired, so Nebraska will remain firmly entrenched in 3.0 land. 9-3, 10-2, 8-4, B1G runner-ups and non-BCS bowls as far as the eye can see. Looks good if you're a Kansas fan; unacceptable if you'rea Bama or tOSU fan.
What do you say, Huskerland? You ready to be the B student?
The valedictorian, prom king, starting varsity players will be on display in about an hour.
Wy: Its obvious that you were probably a 2.0 student at best to start another one of these posts. BTW Wy, did you know Pelini's team does have over a 3.0 gpa as a team? Yep, highest since 1987. But you don't care about that, you are clearly only concerned with winning.

I am just as disappointed as the rest of you. I don't think the fumble on the 2 or the fumble on the pass play, as we were looking like we had score coming soon, was Bo's fault.. Granted we seem to have had trouble stopping them when we had to but, it seems all teams have trouble each week. Lot of upsets through the last couple of weeks. Bo has us back in the national picture again, and that's what I was reading on here, we wanted when he was hired. To be respected again. Hes done that. We are in a new conf, new o/c. I thought are play calling got better as the game went on. Martinez looked damn good to me today.
Just think what kind of program history we would have, if some of the big donors had their way when T O was having trouble in the 70's. I know its a small bunch that's calling for Bo's head, but that stuff gets read on sports message boards, that can't help bring in recruits, who see fans, that we won't stand behind their team and coaches. jmo
GBR!!!
+1! Great Post! I agree with everything you said. The one thing Bo does need to work on is clock management. It is horrendous. I don't know if TO can help him with that or not.

Taylor usually has at least one pass batted or hit a lineman every game because of his quirky throwing motion. Exhibit A today would be Martinez bouncing one off of Caputo's helmet. Caputo isn't exactly tall for a lineman, and a normal throwing motion would let Taylor release the ball a foot higher, at least.
I am baffled as to why Martinez" throwing motion can't be fixed by a coaching staff collecting millions of dollars in payroll, or better yet, by Taylor himself. If all of our defensive line got dow in their stance with their legs crossed, would everybody say, "Well, that's just how they always have done it, too late to change now."
For the same reason the professionals haven't been able to change Tebow's. Its hard to change something you've done for a long time. Yea, its ugly, but it gets there. The most frustrating part to me is when it does get there, his receivers drop it. Taylor threw the ball well today.

afhusker, indianahusker, robsker, etc...: who should we go after? Mike Stoops? Mike Leach? Lane Kiffin? Jerry Kill's brother? Who do you guys actually think would come here if we fired Bo. We have our coach and he will be here for a long time. I'm sorry.

Will be anxious to hear how loud the crowd is tommorrow when we're up 52-7. Can't wait.

Wonder if this hire saved Pedey's ass or if he's still good as gone? Me thinks the latter.
