Michigan is a very inept team right now. They have been overrated in every sense of the word this year.
We're talking about a team that was the pick to win the division. Here's from Scout:
The schedule: It’s as good as could be reasonably asked for. There’s always going to be Ohio State to deal with from the Leaders, but there’s no Wisconsin and getting Indiana at home and a depleted Penn State isn’t bad. There’s no way all the tough games could be at home, but welcoming the Buckeyes, Notre Dame and Nebraska should be a big help. But it’s Michigan; it’s going to get every team’s best shot.
Getting past Central Michigan, Akron and a road trip to Connecticut shouldn’t be a problem, and hosting Minnesota and Indiana to go along with the away date in Happy Valley should mean 7-0, or at worst 6-1 with a loss to the Irish. Going on the road three times in four weeks – at Michigan State, at Northwestern and at Iowa with the Nebraska game thrown into the mix – comes after a needed off week.
Key game: Nov. 2 at Michigan State. Next year, the Ohio State game will really, really matter when the Wolverines and Buckeyes are together in the East division. This season, the Nebraska game will be big, but that’s at home and it comes after the battle with Michigan State, which should, at the very least, determine the front-runner for the Legends title. The Spartans will be stronger than they were last year, but so should the Wolverines.

The guys on the field deserve all the credit, but I'd advise everyone to exercise patience and a tiny bit of skepticism. The defense hasn't really been tested against what we would consider a good football team (except UCLA) as of yet. Minny is coming into their own as a hard nosed football team, but there are way too many questions of all the teams in the conference this year that we can't hang our hat on one performance to say they are there quite yet.

Pops went on USA Today and basically said his career is over:
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — It appears Nebraska's Taylor Martinez has played his last snap for the Cornhuskers.
Martinez's father, Casey Martinez, wrote in an email to The Associated Press on Monday night that the senior quarterback has a "debilitating injury" near the ball of his left foot that could take until February or March to heal fully.
"Taylor's injury happened in week one and after several months of rehab we have discovered that the more he does on it the worse that it gets," Casey Martinez wrote. "Very, very unfortunate location and aggravating injury that can't be toughed out.
"This is a nightmare way to finish your college career, by getting this kind of injury in the first week of the season, which essentially has cost Taylor his whole senior season as well as many team and personal goals."

Good game, but let's be cautious, folks. It was against a not so good Michigan team. I don't see scUM winning too many more games the way they play (loose term in this regard) offensively. IN fact, that's what they do - play offensively. It's hard on the eyes to see Gardner drop back every time, knowing the poor guy is going to end up on his back. They're a really, really bad team right now.
If they beat Sparty, then I'll consider them having moved on.
-
I don't care either way, really. But...
NU doesn't go on the road anymore and lose by 6 by the #5 team in the country, either.
That game was nowhere as close as the final score showed. Stanford let up the last 8 minutes of the game, that's why. Other than that, they weren't just dominant - they needed to be arrested for the mugging they put on the Ducks.
-
Let's not put too much stock in today's win. Although it was refreshing, this is who we did it against...
If the team beats Sparty next week, we'll be doing something.

I think Bo is still fiery in practice and in the locker room.
I think his players respect him and want to play well for him.
But I think he makes them nervous. I think this team is afraid to screw up, so they play too tight and screw up even worse. His coaching staff is probably nervous, too.
And because Bo has too much pride, he resists making adjustment or admitting personnel mistakes.
So everyone wants to make Bo happy, but no one wants to tell him that what he's doing isn't working.
I don't think he's too nicey-nice. He's still Angry Dad.
This.
-
If your senior 3rd string QB and a redshirt freshman QB are having to 'fire up' teammates, then there's problems on the team that the coaching staff will never be able to fix.
-
The thing that worries me the most is I do not think Minnesota can beat any of those teams on our remaining schedule.
Considering Minnesota has already beaten Northwestern and we have them remaining on our schedule, it's obvious they can. Wasn't Northwestern still ranked when Minnesota beat them? We were ranked when Minnesota beat us. Minnesota is bowl eligible right? Minnesota isn't a great team, but they aren't the dumpster fire everyone is making them out to be. They just happen to be the one team we lost to this season we should have beaten much like every other year Bo has been here. I just don't see anymore than one possibly two more losses this season. If we fire another nine win coach, we deserve exactly what we get. Unless we clone either TO or Bill Snyder, I don't see a silver bullet out there. It's going to take more time.
IMHO, if he wins less than 9 games this year, you can punch a ticket for the guy, unfortunately. But, if he wins less than 9 and they are COMPETETIVE in those losses (not getting gashed for 250 on the ground or giving up huge chunks of yards), you can make a good case for him to stay around.
But, I mean, they're 5-2 with one loss in conference. The wheels haven't fallen off yet.
But if they lose the way they've been losing, forget it, he's gone.

Source told @ESPN Carl Pelini & DC Pete Rekstis resign at FAU. They attended recent social event where pot was used & agreed to resign
Please let this be all there is to it. Please.
So this is about weed? WTF?
Wow. Carl got canned for smoking bud. I've seen it all now. Wow. Just wow...
Well, if this is all there is to this...then there's no qualms with bringing him back as DC next year, AMIRITE?
Dude could come back. I don't use drugs, but if that's what he wants - he can come back and we'll give him the stickiest of the icky.
-
Anybody found a link to their presser yet?!?
-
HC: Bo Pelini
OC: Scott Frost
DC: Carl Pelini
Fill in the blanks
Here's the reason why. Bo needs one more year, because he's grasping at straws. Defense has sucked the last two years without him. Then, Bring back Marvin Sanders as well.
-
Bring back Marvin Sanders too.

The Tim Brown interview is radio gold. If you substitute 'Husker' for 'Raider', sounds pretty familiar.

Does anybody know who's calling the game on Saturday for ABC?
-
I think either way, Bo should have earned everybody's respect. He's got his team going into a very hostile environment (although I don't think the hostility will be against us), and he's been nothing but gracious in this entire thing.
Can't say the same for all coaches. Ask Bret Bilema.
-
Why dont we just show up and play. Then graciously shake there hands at the end of the game and say......"We are thinking of you guys and the families of the victims, hopefully you guys can get through this tough time.
Best suggestion of the day.

Whippin some azz will make folks feel pretty good, I'm sure.

While I won't speak for everyone in our community, let me clear a few things up for you people from my perspective:
1) All Penn Staters are saddened and shocked by the recent events. It's turned our community upside down.
2) Most Penn Staters believe that, although unfortunate, there was no other choice than to completely clean house ASAP, including Joe.
3) Paternoville, the tent community, more embodies the overall reaction of the student body, than the TMZ-esque coverage of a couple hundred drunken hooligans. The students at Paternoville raised almost $1000 for cancer research last night, and although saddened by recent events, have remained level headed.
4) The rest of the student body is planning a candlelight vigil for the victims after the pep rally Friday night. Child abuse ribbons will be worn on Saturday.
Finally, the idea that your team/fans are in some sort of imminent danger is preposterous. You will be welcomed and treated with respect as all of our guests are.
1. While I would trust you, and others like you, you don't speak for everybody.
2. The video shared above states that you can't speak for everybody:
3. While I am confident that the good majority of folks from Paternoville are nice, decent fans....the majority of the mob made their way towards Paternoville last night (from published reports) and started tearing up stuff.
4. Put yourself in our shoes - would you go to Ohio State or Michigan if the roles were reversed?

I just read this on the Penn State Facebook spot (take it with a grain of salt?):
Robert James PSU Alert: NCAA will hold a news conference at 3PM EST to announce the cancellation of the Nebraska/Penn State football game on Saturday Nov.12 due to threats and behavior of the Penn State student body.
Does anyone know if this is true? Has anyone else heard anything from the NCAA?
Negative. Haven't heard that. It's also coming from the PSU Facebook page. Who knows what the hell is going on down there right now.
May not be the middle east where we're fighting a war, but stupidity does abound down there right about now.

By this argument, though, would the Huskers' defensive stats from last week have been skewed as well?
