  1. I'll take it a step further.....What is actual journalism? Can anyone find a negative Obama story on MSNBC? MSNBC, owned by GE, that doesn't pay taxes, run by Obama's Job Czar. It all makes sense. Actual journalism? It's a great question. I always get a good laugh when someone tries to tell others what is and isn't actual journalism as if their opinion is some kind of authority on the subject. The lines have been so blurred that it's hard to trust any source that doesn't have some kind of agenda driving what they have put out. Personally, I can't stand any of the major cable new outlets for TV. Newspapers are no different. All I want out of my news is facts, what happened, period. Don't give opinions, editorials, the Five, Hannity, Ed, Maddow, yada, yada, yada. Just tell me what happened and let me figure out my own opinion. The thing is these days people want to be told what to believe, thus the popularity of O'Reilly, Maddow, etc. It gets the ratings so simple factual news reporting is long gone because it doesn't sell ads and makes money.
  2. Obama is not left wing, on financial and foreign policy he is similar to Bush(43). GE and Wall Street loves Obama! Corporate America owns both parties, end of story.
  3. an astute analysis. I care about it. It's actually been discussed in the OWS thread as well. Well, that makes two out of 7 billion. You sound like you need a hug. Why would that be? You sound so unhappy. We're here for you, man. So if I proved my point that nobody cares about the subject, you turn it into a personal attack and try to say I am emotional about it? Nice. This is a molehill, the mountain is trying to be made, but it ain't working. Instead how about try backing up OG with more links to the reaction of the outrage. At least I see how you play the game now. Hugs are personal attacks now? Is this bizzarro world? Batons and pepper spray are perfectly legitimate but hugs and feelings are attacks? Fascinating stuff. We've always been at war with Oceania. It sure comes off as a personal attack to me, telling me what my emotions are when you know nothing about me. It's better just to post nothing then go after someone if you have no way to defend the argument. Having said that, anything else to add from the original topic? Anyone find anything new? Anyone fired yet? Just wondering.
  4. Nice first post Brew. Glad you are here. The way both of these teams have played this year, I think it comes down to who makes the least amount of mistakes. I think it's that close. Nebraska has to be more physical on both lines of scrimmage or it will be a Michigan repeat. We have on occasion been a physical pound it team, see second half of the OSU game. It will be interesting to see if the Huskers start out the game trying do just that.
  5. Well if the OWS crowd was there, at least it wouldn't be hard to find handfuls of crap laying around!
  6. There is no doubt that the NASCAR crowd is proportionately more conservative. I don't think anyone can make excuses about who was booing. It's things like this that drive the wedge between the parties even further.
  7. http://tv.breitbart.com/nascar-crowd-boos-michalle-obama/ This was on Drudge. I don't care what you think of the President, this is complete BS to boo the first lady like that.

  9. One of the fun things about bowl games is you get to play teams that you don't get to see very often. That's why I hope we stay out any bowl with the Big 12, at least for a couple of years. Bring on an SEC school. South Carolina would be fun.

  11. Bielema has a 76% winning percentage in six years. Pelini has a 72% winning percentage in four years. Beilemsa's SOS over his tenure: 2006 - 82 2007 - 57 2008 - 52 2009 - 64 2010 - 66 2011 - 79 (so far) Bo's SOS in four years 2008 - 38 2009 - 52 2010 - 39 2011 - 26 (so far) Someone check my math on the percentages, because I rifled through this pretty quick. But a difference of about five percentage points compared to an SOS often grossly weighted against Nebraska/Pelini, I wouldn't exactly say Bielema is some kind of wizard compared to Pelini. 48-17, and 1-0 vs Bo, that's all the math you need to learn this year. Who said Pelini wasn't a good coach btw? If anything comparing him to Bo, you just proved that Bielema is a good coach, thanks for helping.
  12. It's a lot more impressive than the list of economists that are against OWS. Where is that at?? Exactly So that's supposed to make it more impressive???? LOL! Next, I will come up with a list of scientist who recommend using two squares of toilet paper instead of 10 and it will be more impressive then the list of who think 10 is better. What?
  13. Disagree. I think that the B1G is much better than it has been. Michigan is much better than expected, Illinois made some noise. The league has 5 or 6 teams that have consistently been ranked this year. Yes, fO$U will get back, but MSU and Wisconsin are not traditional powers, they will probably be roller coaster teams. PSU will probably never get back to where they were in the 80's. At least we will be able to get fat on the Purdues and the Indianas in a few years. It may be better then it has been but it's still not that great. Nobody even close to being a top 5 team of those ranked teams. Agree Michigan is better but I don't think they are going the other way any time soon. OSU will be back to a top 10 team as well. I wouldn't count out PSU just yet either, unless the NCAA throws the book at them. I don't think Wisky gets enough credit for what Bielema has done there. 58-18? That's a pretty good record if you ask me. I doubt they become a 7 win season team on an annual basis anytime soon. Always going to be competing for 9 or 10 wins a year. The biggest thing is right now OSU and Michigan are not top 10 teams and we didn't take advantage of it. It's not going to be like that in another couple of years.
  14. Really? The Big Ten handed us the most difficult schedule they possibly could have these first two years. 2013-14 we trade in OSU and Wisconsin for Illinois and Purdue. If there's any time to make a run, it's then. Schedulewise, that is a good point, but the conference as a whole, this is as easy as it will ever be and we did nothing.
  15. The problem is 10-3 is going to be 8-5 in another couple of years. The BIG is down and this was our easiest chance to make some noise. Michigan is only going to get better. Ohio State is going to get back to a top 10 program. Wisky should maintain what they are. I think Sparty will be a drop a little but not much. Penn State is a big question mark depending on who they get for a coach. If the SEC is going to lose their oversigning chances, I could really see the BIG getting as good in another year or two. Then throw in the fact that I don't think expansion is over by a long shot. I still think the BIG tries to get ND and someone like Rutgers. ND seems to be making progress and could be a challenge if we had to play them. If we can't make the conference championship game this year, I see no reason we will in the near future.
  16. The best thing to come out of this by far. The "hurry back from lunch bonus" was classic.

  18. It's a lot more impressive than the list of economists that are against OWS. Where is that at?? I'm surprised anyone would be. It seems you either support them or don't care.
  19. That's kind of a sad list when you look at it, only 170. I hope they are not done finding economists who agree with the statement. I would have thought they would have started a list like that with 1700 not 170. Should be easy enough to do.
  20. You should alert these 170 economists...no way they could have been aware of such things before signing this!! Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if most didn't know, the way statements like this get put together. Just go around and find all the like minded people who you know will sign and ask them to sign up if they are paying attention to it or not.
  21. Replying to one's own thread is usually the first hint nobody cares much. Too much other crap going on in around the world and here.
  22. Stop pooping on sidewalks would go a long way to get more people on your side.
