Hmmmm....Does anyone still think it's just fine to tweet recruits?

    Cue ArmyAllen.

There is a nice thread in the shed archives

How often do you think of me? It's been years and I literally havent tweeted a recruit since I was their age. But I mean I guess you're still salty your buddy EZ-E got the ol banhammer for being a megadouche.

Lenoir is possibly my favorite cover corner we've been after followed by Darnay. Hope we can change his mind about us.

I am ok with paying over $1M but never for Diaco. If it was Venables or Aranda I would as they have consistenly shown results. Diaco had one strong year and the rest was mediocre or worse.
Not sure why you are so dead set on using yards per game as your metric to evaluate D coordinators. Diaco, like Belichick, runs a bend don't break defense so the yardage is expected. At the end of the day, points are more important than yards.

Points are more important to winning games but yards are a better indicator of how effective the defense is.

One defense gives up 70 yards on a drive but the other team misses a field goal. Another defense hold the offense without a first down after a turnover and they make a field goal. Which defense was better?

    Was the FG blocked?
    450k the coach?

If I remember correctly, then we wouldn't have had Ameer.

Yeah, that's probably true, but I mean. Maybe AG or Braylon would have flourished at NU, too, and so would have the extra OT/DE/QB/whatever it was. If that was the '11 class, was it the year where we also had JT and Bubba, and ended up with zero QBs?

Of course, I have no regrets on Ameer at all. One of my favorite Huskers of all time, on and off the field. Just an argument spotlighting diminishing returns that can happen with overloading positions. It's hard to predict which guys will be the stars, but it's also important to balance out the team so that there's a good chance for stars or solid players to emerge in all the areas needed for a championship team to come together.

AG showed he was pretty good at TCU. I'd still take Ameer any day but AG was no slouch.

What did Riley do this year to actually justify firing him? Lose 4 games? Bo did that in his sleep. Get blown out twice in one season? Please, Bo did that and swiped hats at refs while doing it.

We aren't firing Riley. He is our coach for 2017. After that, it's anyones guess.

So you're poo-pooing Riley's firing by saying he was doing the same things as the guy who got fired. MMmmmmmmmKay.

Quit being coy, we know why bo was fired. The blowouts were a factor but if you think that was the tipping point and not the tirades and off the field stuff, he'd have been let go after the Iowa loss.

And for some reason some games he would throw that ball very well then the next he couldn't hit it or ignored it.

I re watched the first half pass plays today to watch the line play.

I remember at least twice on YOLO passes that ended drives there were relievers underneath or in the flats open that would have gotten the first down. If he hits those the drive stays alive. He was oblivious to them.

I'm betting the Alabama QB would not have ignored them for a covered receiver 40 yards down field.

That's not the play call's fault.

These arguments are always one-sided - pointing to the time that TA passed on another throw.

My argument is that there are other games when we were calling different types of pass plays that didn't have the deep options for TA to choose. There were several games where we almost exclusively had short routes and TA had high completion percentages those games.

My point is we did not seem to be calling those same types of plays in other games. That is the play caller's fault.

But you can't only have short route patterns or those easy underneath throws won't be there either.

  6. Can we have a discussion about this show? It may not be for everyone, but Anthony Hopkins is AMAZING in it and so are all the other actor(s)esses. The premise is stellar and I was hooked from episode one. With the 1st season finale coming up. What are your guys thoughts on the show so far and what are your predictions?

  7. Look at both qbs numbers vs Purdue throughout their careers. Then tell me who can throw. This game is just as much about confidence and Fyfe has been able to get none of that let alone build it in himself. He can throw.

Celebrities that will leave the US when Trump is elected:

    Lena Dunham

    Samuel L. Jackson

    Miley Cyrus

    Cher

    Jon Stewart

    Raven Symone

    Natasha Lyonne

    Omari Hardwick

    Spike Lee

    Chloë Sevigny

    Eddie Griffin

    George Lopez

    Al Sharpton

    Neve Campbell

    Rosie O'Donnell

    Amy Schumer

    Barbara Streisand

    Whoopi Goldberg

    Chelsea Handler

    Mark Cuban

    Rachael Madcow

    Bryan Cranston

I fail to see any negative fallout in any of these actually doing what they said they would.
I'd be heartbroken if Bryan Cranston left.
  9. Bernie Sanders wasn't winning this election.

    Well, I don't know.

    Maybe he was.

Bernie wins this election in a landslide imo. Those working class democrats that swapped to Trump in Michigan and Pennsylvania would have flocked to Bernie like they did in Michigan for the primary for him over hilary.

Last I checked we are in first place in our division. Playoffs would be great, however got to get to the Big10 Championship and that is on our minds. We all have our opinions - and hope we don't have to find out who is right.

    Well, you're wrong, so.
POB warmed up solo 4 weeks or so ago when Tommy went down before a halftime situation in which Tommy came back so I wouldn't put it put of the realm of possibility back then.
  11. So I went back through the stats for each game (quickly) and didn't see any FB rushes or receptions. It doesn't seem like we even have them in the back field this year. With the injuries to the OL and Carter (a beast in the run game) any thoughts on why we are not using the FB like last year. Jano was a stud and did a great job running and receiving. Maybe Langs is hiding that until Wisky...... (the lie I believe every year is we are "hiding" awesome sauce in a cabinet)......

Are the current guys that far behind in abilities? What about a 2 back set? Anything to help the OL or get an extra blocker or make the D slow up a step..

It seems it'd be much better to let the FB eat a DT in the backfield than Newby with the ball.....

    You mean this stuff?

So if they don't pay tribute, they aren't a nice team? NU shouldn't be going into games expecting a gesture for Sam. If it happens, that's great. If it doesn't, it's not a big deal.

Where's PC Principal when we need him.

Agree. Those that have paid tribute to Sam have shown lots of class. Gone above and beyond. Doesn't reflect poorly on Indiana, though.
What does reflect poorly on Indiana is their fans booing every time we had a player of ours go down hurt.

Langsdorf can't please anyone. Bitch about inside runs and you want end around. Bitch about end arounds and you want screens and inside runs.

How about do what's working. We finally found something that was working and then he stopped doing it. The people bitching aren't being unreasonable.
He ran those runs with newby all day... they just started working. Then they stopped working again at the end.

    Wooooooooooo Williams baby!
