  1. I do appreciate the discussion. We have not had many 3-stars in the past (atleast not playing together) and I'm not disagreeing that they both wouldn't be a huge get. I see the collective point you are making. It is just a long shot for either so I'd make sure we focus attention on the 3-4 star recruits - as I think 3-4 years of being a higher level in our league would do more to boost recruiting than 1 year of a top player who then leaves. I think we'd all take either at this point, but now we need Miles and staff to secure commitments.
  2. I think it is to soon to get to excited considering we have yet to secure a commitment of any kind for the 2012-13 season or beyond. Okafor would be a great get no doubt, but would most likely be 1 year and done / NBA player, so getting a couple 3 stars might be better in the long run.
  3. Marcus Crider, a recruit that we had an offer to for the 2012-13 season committed to Georgia State in May. I checked a few different sources and they all confirm it. He is also listed on their official athletic website as being on the roster for the upcoming season. http://www.panthertalk.com/georgia-state-basketball-adds-impact-signee-markus-crider/ Please update the master list with his school pick when you have time.
  4. That would be good news. From what type of source did you get this information--article, player he plays with, Agau himself, etc...?
  5. Maybe I'm off base and would welcome discussion, but it just seems like Agau already knows that Nebraska is out of the mix in favor of Gtown or UConn. If that is the case, he needs to just say that instead of trying to play the good guy and keep us in the list. This will avoid Neb. fans being on pins and needles all season. It's also not a good sign that Biggs has been so quiet when before he signed made it sound like a 1-2 combo done deal. Something to note, GTown actually doesn't have any scholarships available as of right now for 2013 and needs either a player to leave for the NBA or possible medical hardship to open up a scholarship for Agau. http://www.casualhoya.com/2012/7/20/3172623/georgetown-emerges-as-leader-for-class-of-2013-forward-akoy-agau#storyjump
  6. At least this happened sooner rather than later, it is to bad that he didn't have his official visit to NU first though. He wasn't a 2-4 star recruit either, not that we wouldn't have liked having him here, but it could be worse. Let's hope Agau takes this same approach and decides swiftly, whether it's NU or not. I'm guessing this wasn't a shock to Miles as 3 new offers have already went out in the last few days.
  7. While he probably will wait, for both Agau and the state of Nebraska, I hope he decides in the early signing period in November and doesn't wait until the Spring. It would be great if we could get a strong couple commits in November. You just feel like once a couple of players take a chance, then others will. Plus considering the current season may have its ups and downs, commits in November before our season record becomes an issue would be ideal. I think the best chance of early commit might be Hanson and/or Jaron Hopkins. It will be interesting as players do commit to update the master list to show where they commited to so we can see which schools we are losing out to, whether its the Duke's and Carolina's of the world or Mid level like Kansas State for example.
  8. What about Sterling Brown? From all the video and feedback from his camps, it definitely seems like he should be in our Top 5 want list.
  9. Was it Miles who wanted him in that particular slot or was it the choice of Chin so he wouldn't need to be traveling........?? Thats a fair question, based on what I have read from past interviews Chin has given, he says his goal is to become an assistant and then head coach someday. Considering he has now interviewed with Illinois and Illinois State for assistant positions, I would say that is a strong indication that he would prefer to be an assistant coach and that it was Miles decision. (I know it doesn't matter now with the Illinois opening filled, but something to keep an eye on in the future)
  10. Miles had a chance to make Chin an assistant coach and chose not to. We cannot hold it against Chin if he wants to be become an assistant coach and help his career. I wouldn't be surprised if Chin stays if next year Miles reevaluates and possibly makes him an assitant coach next year. According to Illinois blogs, Chin is one of the three candidates that they are looking at so it is not a sure thing that he will be offered.
