  1. Does anyone follow this twitter account and if so, are they legit? https://twitter.com/GBRrecruiting

They tweeted this out earlier today:

And if you read the ensuing conversation there, they seem to imply that they knew some stuff before Lenoir tweeted his recent tweet

It seems like they're a fan account and have no correlation with the university. But they might be paying for subscriptions and have heard various tidbits. I guess we'll just wait and see.

  2. Just got back from Madison as well and it was easily the best away game I've ever been to and I didn't get one hostile treatment from a Wisconsin fan. The only time I was heckled by a long Wisconsinite, I responded with, "Who hates Iowa?" and then a big group of Wisco fans responded, "We hate Iowa."

Really really great trip and I would/will absolutely go back.

  3. No, it's still stupid for HS and college kids to tweet recruits. It's just less creepy.

Disagree, I've hung out with recruits in this class multiple times already. There are plenty of kids that are friends with the recruits. Nothing about that is creepy whatsoever.

  4. And guns, and assulting police officers.

Im not naive to pot being around believe me - but I am very aware of events like this happening to such a high number of players, during the season is not something any program takes too lightly. At least 2 felony charges, and two off them off the team (one forever, one indefinitly)

Did not hear about the guns or the assault, my mistake. I still wouldn't call that a systemic problem, if you have just a couple bad apples it obviously puts the University of Notre Dame under a spotlight. However, in my opinion they're a school that has always carried themselves in a classy manner.

  5. I get the sense that Jamire is a kid with pretty high standards and discipline - I wonder with this weekend's events at ND how he'll respond. I thought the Williams thing would hurt us, but honestly I view that as a person with a problem, and what happened in ND is more systemic.

It was a bunch of kids getting caught for marijuana, if you think that doesn't happen at UNL you're delusional. Don't mean that in any form of attacking manner.

  6. He should be behind bars. Doesn't necessarily mean he will be. He should be fired. Doesn't necessarily mean he will be.

Kind of surprised a college football coach wouldn't be able to hire a lawyer to get him out of a couple DUI convictions. I know a guy who makes considerably less and has gotten out of 11 (and counting).

That's disgusting. With all due respect, that is absolutely disgusting.

  7. "We will have the evaluation process (Is this on ongoing problem?), just like we would with anybody. Assessment of that. Intervention, education. Those are the things that I thought of this morning that will all take place, so we will handle that accordingly."

I think what Coach Riley means by that is that they would like to hear from Coach Williams before making any moves. They haven't spoken to him as of yet, and to make any decisions before that is very rash.

  8. In my opinion, it makes more sense to retain him, put him on suspension for an extended period so that he can get the help that he obviously needs instead of cutting him off and letting him figure out by himself. This is just an opinion, but that all changes if he gets a felony, fingers crossed he does not. I believe that it is a better approach to help him better himself instead of kicking him out on his own and letting him fend for himself. Just an opinion.
