Maybe third and short this year with Rex still here. In the future I'm hoping for a Brandon Jacobs type! What's wrong with him muscling out 6 or 7 yards on first down! Sure makes life easier with second and shorts. Our team isn't built for 2nd and 9 or 3rd and 8. IIRC we were one of the worst teams on third and long in the nation! Rex also looks like a 3rd and short back. Can't understand how NU didn't have success there last year.

Sounds like a good kid. A lot of these big recruits have huge egos and don't want to put the work in and eventually fizzle out. (i.e. DeAndre Brown.)

Heard a lot about this kid. Mostly from this board but other places as well. He is a running back right? Was he a big recruit? Size? Speed? Will he play in this game?

One of the 3 quarterbacks battling for the starting stop banged up his shoulder last week. He played today in the scrimmage but it slowed him down a bit. Jamie Collins pulled a quadricep muscle in practice and has not practiced all week. He has been running and working the muscle the entire week. The staff says they are just being extremely careful as they can't afford to lose their best defensive player. They say he could practice if the game was next week but are just being extra cautious. Alex Walters, corner, is out with a knee injury and hasn't practiced for a week and a half. This shouldn't hurt us too much besides depth which we have plenty of at the corner position. Any injuries NU is dealing with that I should be aware of?

What team was this against? How may TFL did he have in 2011? I think a lot of defenders could look like this when they are unblocked... But not a whole lot of guys who can pick a *200lb RB up and slam him to the ground.

He is listed as a DE, but is called a hybrid between that and an LB. He'll mostly line up at ROLB but will put his hand on the ground a good bit also.

I wasn't comparing him to Suh at all or claiming he was unstoppable. I was just showing you guys a little inkling of his physical abilities.

thats nice, but I'm sure at some point he'll meet Mr. Stafford, and this will occur... Jamie Collins doesn't play on our offense :/
