  1. I've heard Haymarket Park is good...NW of the stadium, right? (over by Hawks Field)
  2. Is that on the north end, over by the Osborne complex? We've got a a case of beer, it will probably last us until kickoff, so we might avoid the bars until post game (to continue the buzz)
  3. We're ready for the game tomorrow! We're cabbing it from our hotel with a case of beer and a cooler. Where should we go (i.e. where should I tell the cabbie to take us)? It's just the two of us, but we wouldn't mind anchoring with some locals (this is our first game). I'm thinking of leaving our hotel around 8:30 am...is that too early/too late? On my other post I've seen the post office, Indian Reservation, and a few others I don't remember. Thanks for the suggestions!
  4. Power-I, thanks for the heads-up on the cups/beer. Good to know Lyons, thanks for the tip on the beer; we love local brews. Nobody, I've read about Red 9...I think we are going to hit it up later in the pm post game! Thanks again everyone for the advice!
  5. Got it. I'll share a fishbowl with my wife :-D
  6. Fishbowl of alcohol? Does this imply a massive drink!? 15 min prior to kickoff...thanks!
  7. Thanks for the replies. The building could be construed as phallic, but check out the photo of the Capitol from Tallahassee, FL. That, in my opinion, looks more like genitals than the other. On another note, when is the tunnel walk (i.e. when should I stop drinking beer and be in the stadium?)
  8. That's what I figured...just wanted to make sure.
  9. Thanks for the tour info and the link! Great info!
  10. So I'm a lifelong Sooner fan, but I married into a Nebraska family! My wife attended an OU game with me a few years ago, so I decided to return the favor. My wife and I have never been to Lincoln, and she has only seen Nebraska play in person once (unfortunately for her, a loss). I'll admit, I'm excited to experience Memorial Stadium for the first time. Any recommendations on what to do before game day? We arrive on Thursday afternoon, and I'd like to see if we can get into Memorial Stadium before Sat. Are there daily tours, etc? Also, is the Osborne Athletic Complex worth the time to walk through? For game day: where's the best place to tailgate? We want to cab it from our hotel with some beer and snacks, but I have no clue if there are any laws, etc on drinking near the stadium. We don't have tickets yet, and stub hub is pricey. Any other ideas or experiences on getting decent tickets? I'm trying to avoid the "overhang" on the sideline where the obstructed view is if I can help it. All else being equal, I'll thrown down a decent amount to sit in decent seats. How is sitting in the endzone seats? Finally, any recommendations on where to go post game for live music? I appreciate any additional ideas you may have, I want this to be a great trip for my wife! Cheers, Rich
