  1. I would suggest that everyone should download this onto their PC

    https://justgetflux.com/

It blocks out the blue light based on time of day. Definitely helps to wind down in the evenings (as opposed to staring into the constant glow of the screen).

That being said, if Nebraska needs these to beat Wyoming...they might have bigger problems than blue light!

  2. As much as I agree with many of HuskerShark's points, I would like to refrain from name calling and otherwise negative personal implications. I provide my observations and media content, others provide their own. No reason for people to get so worked up and to attack others.

Edit: I will say, though, one of the funniest quotes I've ever read on Huskerboard a few posts up is by knapp

I have google, and I know how to use it.

Do I have to pay you royalties if I make it my signature? :P

It's pretty pathetic that one side is so desperate that they have to make a big deal out of a cough.

    cool

but I linked to a CNN article. Pathetic that MSM is making a big deal out of a "cough"?

    Both.

And.....the CNN article isn't being alarmist like the Repubs are trying to be about it. It's a dumb article about the different causes of coughs.

Questioning and being curious about the health of the potential leader of the Free World is pathetic. Interesting. I think the fire may need some more books.
WTF man, book burning, really? This stuff is stupid to begin with. Obama's team ripped McCain for being old, and he's still kicking. Nobody really cared about Bernie's old butt. Do you honestly care about friggin a cough? My mom has had a cronich cough for years and is just fine. One of my coworkers has one from allergies too and she's fine. Who gives two sh#t!

I and many other people who are concerned with the health of candidates who are expected to lead the country are concerned with the cough as it relates to what appear to be a number of different health ailments. I'm sorry that your mother has suffered from her chronic cough, but it is a bit more of a pressing issue when the person in question is running for POTUS.

  5. It was surreal. We were in Orlando the first of August and every night the 10 o'clock news would cover UCF fall football practice. Frost was interviewed nightly and every night I would think, "That's our Scott." He speaks well and looks the part down there in the land of Mickey.

Haha...I respectfully beg to differ with the quoted. With those traps he looks more like he should be starting at OLB or SS than coaching! Dude has kept himself in outstanding shape.

  6.

    Jesus.

    Yeah, Jesus is right.

You know you're in "great sources" territory when CD is exuberant.

    Here's a WaPo article: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2015/10/28/the-war-over-words-literally-on-some-american-campuses-where-asking-where-are-you-from-is-a-microaggression/

I tend to agree with this from the closing paragraph:

“Why are people of color raising these issues,” he said in an interview with The Post. “Not because they see themselves as victims,” as Manning and Campbell suggest. “Microagressions have empowered them by giving them a language of expression."

You definitely confused(?) my alleged "exuberance" with genuine surprise. Please don't mischaracterize me like that.

The woman is nothing more than a puppet, with big money holding her strings... Big money Like George Soros.

Other than the fact that he has money and influence, what don't you like about Soros?

Plenty of info about that parasite on the web.

I'm not asking the internet. I'm asking you.

A desire to meddle in global affairs in order to create uncertainty and fear in a world that is destablized, creating investment opportunities for him to exploit (as he has done numerous times in the past).

  8. Ex-Nebraska quarterback Johnny Stanton to start for UNLV in season opener

Former Nebraska quarterback Johnny Stanton will start UNLV’s season opener Thursday night against Jackson State at Sam Boyd Stadium, Rebels coach Tony Sanchez confirmed Sunday in a text message to the Review-Journal.

Really nice to see this. I was always high on Stanton and thought it was too bad that he didn't work out at Nebraska. Hopefully he does well in Barney's offense.

  9. I don't really understand why people make a big deal out of people or organizations engaging in legal activities that go against their own beliefs or values. If you have a problem with this type of activity don't watch the game. The NFL has taken a nose dive in recent years with endless PSAs and other objectionable activity to the point where I simply refuse to watch it any more. If you have a problem with something, vote with your feet, eyes, and dollars.

That being said, I think that there is much more to the story than Kap "truly" wanting to make a statement. I think he is trying to protect his own hide. He knows that he is on the verge of being cut, but if he makes this kind of "statement" and THEN gets cut, he and millions of others will cry foul and try to link the cutting back to this stunt. As much as I don't care for this kind of activity nor the message it spreads to impressionable parties...

  10. I don't hate Vanderbilt. They're the one school I've never seen associated with scandal or violations, plus it's actually a very fine academic institution. Basically they aren't an SEC team so I don't hate them.

    Nothing to see here folks!

  11. There's no need to engage. CD's on a mission. And part of that is playing coy as he tries to legitimize crank.

The reason why I ask is not because I don't know what it means, but more so to get an idea of the broad brush that is used to paint so many people and so many Trump supporters. If you look at some of my posts on previous voting decisions, I am anything but consistent and I find it interesting that those with differing or dissenting opinions who draw conclusions from a myriad of different sources (although not Vox...never Vox) to be lumped into one particular category.

It would be like my saying that since you cite certain media outlets that you are trying to legitimize Palpatine (Soros).

  12.

The $400M is part of a previous settlement (of a longstanding claim made to the Hague tribunal) for money that the United States owed to Iran. It's fair game to use other forms of cooperation as leverage in current negotiations, and it happens all the time to ensure follow-through.

I'm sure you knew all of those facts, prior to echoing these GOP attack lines.

And if you don't think Murdoch's tabloid, other pro-Trump fonts, and partisan actors are hyping up hysteria about this in a dishonest way, that's your call.

If you were in charge, would you not make sure Iran didn't start getting money -- which you are already bound to have to eventually pay, plus interest -- until at least some of your countrymen had been safely delivered in a separate deal? Or would you say "Hey, before, after, same time -- doesn't matter to me"?

Wow, that is pure Obama/DNC spin. Obama's own spokesperson admitted yesterday the release of the hostages was contingent upon arrival of the money.

Hot dog! Let's hope that China never gets any U.S hostages. At $1.2 trillion, that would require...well...this

He may or may not think they are staying home. But if he says it enough times, perhaps it will become true.

For example, warring nations will attempt to blast demoralizing propaganda at their foes... "Your allied armies are taking heavy losses", etc, whether or not it's true. Make sense?

On the topic itself, I'm far more willing to say "Trump is an awful candidate" because __, ___, and ____ than I am willing to have confidence in the political strength of his opposition. There the best I can do is that the August polls seem good, and hopefully they'll stay that way and the actual vote will reflect the projections. It's not at all a sure thing, especially if people start assuming it'll happen and then modifying their voting behavior accordingly.

(That was at least part of the deal with Brexit, right? Voters who either didn't vote or voted leave said, "I was sure Leave would lose, so I didn't think my actual preference of Stay needed my vote.")

I think they will. Between primary numbers and rally turnouts, some people are going to be pretty overwhelmed at the disparity on election day.

It has been consistently shown that primary numbers and rally turnouts are not at all indicative of election day turnout.

You have your models and I have mine. We'll see what happens in a few months.

What are you basing your models on? Here's some info on primary numbers and rally turnouts.

I don't base them on Nate Silver or...Bernie supporters.
