This is incorrect and it is placing the blame on good, upstanding Americans of EVERY race and religion who want to feel safe. The threat IS terrorists, and those who enable them, who want to destroy countries, value sets, cultures, etc. Don't blame your fellow countrymen (assuming that you are American and/or live in the U.S.) for reacting in an appropriate and expected manner. Who are you to tell upstanding patriots what and who they should fear?

P.S. zoogs, you are a good mod and I will always respect you for being a great HB mod

  2. "Plimpton told ABC News last year that she had “two abortions as a young woman,” which “made it possible for me to live out my dreams and do what I really wanted to do with my life.”

Per this logic, anything that is done to to help you to "live out dreamzzzz!!!!" is acceptable and to be applauded? What an OUTSTANDING role model to young women!!

Klein's writings are misandrist at best and dangerous to men, particularly college men, at worst. This kid disgusts me.

You'll forgive me if I can't take those hysterical characterizations seriously from an unabashed admirer of Donald Trump.

I will always forgive you Zoogs. Google is your friend. Don't take my word for it.

EDIT: To your edit, possibly. I'm not sure what level you're referring to. But you're a good mod and I'll always forgive you.

  4. gotcha..

I have a quick trigger this week. I was going back and forth with a family member, and he would discredit whole articles I cited because one of the four authors happened to work for a Democratic President (never mind the years he also worked for Republican ones)

Haha...looks like we both have the same itchy trigger today/this week. I apologize for being brusque. I welcome all writings and points of view from those from all political spectrums, (whether I agree with them or not is a different story!) However, Klein has written some truly sinister stuff in the past, hence my reaction when I see him linked.

That being said...let's hope we can both chill out and enjoy some tourney games!

    3. Walls have been in practice throughout the world throughout history, both distant and recent.

Can you give me an example of a recent wall that was built on a border for the reasons you support and view it as a success?

    Somewhat recent: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli_West_Bank_barrier

    VERY recent: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hungarian_border_barrier

That will be all for time time being. With all due respect, I expanded upon issues as requested. Possibly not to the extent that you would like, but hopefully this provides additional insight.

I have to admit that your almost spooky lack of wanting to talk about why you support Trump isn't giving me this warm and fuzzy feeling as to why I should support him.

There must be some form of underground informational passing amongst the supporters and you have to have a secret decoder ring to get access.

That's ok. I wasn't actively trying to garner your support for Trump. Like I said, I was responding to your inquiries in a manner that I feel comfortable with. I would appreciate it if you respected that, but if you don't, there isn't much I can do.

And you may be on to something on that second part:

    "Be sure to drink your...Ovaltine"!

  7.

Can you give me specific examples of what you are talking about in the bolded part?

And, in what way do Trump supporters want the GOP to change? I'm no longer a Republican because I wanted change too.

Economic issues, mainly related to FED activities. Social issues that I prefer not to expand upon.

  8. 1. I can, but I won't. This information can easily be found with a 5 second Google search

    2. Trump wants to audit the FED and has been VERY critical of its QE practices. He has been blunt in his (accurate) assessment that QE is painting a nonsensical picture of the true health of the economy

    3. Walls have been in practice throughout the world throughout history, both distant and recent. A wall on the south border cuts back on not only illegal crossings, but the illegal drug trade (which accounts for an astonishing number of deaths both domestically and throughout Mexico...something not often spoken about), as well as negative activities that are associated with border crossings (the number of women raped or sexually assaulted throughout their journey is sickening).

A temporary ban on non-citizen Muslims until current problems related to terrorism and other issues is not at all politically correct, but could help in crafting long-term effective immigration policies.

America was actually built on much more stringent nationalistic policies regarding immigration as well as deep-seeded societal pressures to adopt to the existing cultural standards. I am not in favor of reverting back to these stringent of policies or cultural norms.

Building a wall that promotes legal immigration that adheres to established standards and laws pays respect those who have put in the effort to properly navigate the process.

From my knowledge Islam does not have a long history in the Western world so I don't think it greatly factored into what the country was built on. However, in the wake of recent events both domestically and throughout the world, updating policies to ensure the safety of ALL Americans (including Muslim visitors and immigrants who will be viewed with less suspicion after clearing a more established background check) would definitely be on the path to making America great again.

    Duke,

I really am seriously interested in something. I think it appears that you support Trump and will be voting for him.

My very serious question is. Why do you support him? And, why do you think he would be a good President? I honestly don't know of anyone personally who has supported Trump for a long time. Everyone I know that is thinking about voting for him only gives the excuse of...."Well, I don't want a socialist or Hillary".

To me, that's a pretty pathetic reason to be voting for Trump. I'm hoping you can give me better reasons.

Don't you think a large portion of voting decisions are made by people saying, "I don't want to vote for _________" ? Kinda the 'lesser of two evils' vote, you know?

I voted for Bush in 2000 because I thought Gore would have been a terrible president. While I didn't like Bush, I didn't like Gore more, and voted against him more than for Bush. For example.

Oh...that's very common. However, I believe Duke has supported Trump for a long time. Meaning, he chose to support him above many other candidates on the right. That's why I'm asking him. He had other options at that point other than Hillary and he chose to support him anyway.

However, saying that, I am absolutely so disgusted with the thought of someone like Trump being the Republican candidate that I honestly think this election might be the election I sit out. I have NEVER done that before. I have voted in absolutely every election that I have legally been able to do so in.

But, I honestly can not in good conscious vote for this man even if it means Hillary has a better chance of winning. (which is a pretty disgusting thought by itself)

To me, this is much different than voting for McCain because I don't want a liberal Democrat in the office even though I didn't like how McCain ran his campaign or his running mate.

So.....I'm simply asking what drew him to Trump in the first place and what does he see that keeps his support behind him.

In all honesty, I WISH I could sit this one out, but I think that this is THE most important election of our lives. Also, I think that things would be MUCH easier if Trump were to NOT be elected....in the short term. Trump represents ripping the band-aid off. It needs to happen sooner or later, but by prolonging some of the issues that we're experiencing now, we're committing to a long, slow demise.

In the short term, the Trump victory will likely result in SERIOUS civil disorder

In the short term, the Trump victory will make things LESS safe

In the short term, there will be a LARGE portion of the country that is VERY angry

But I think that these unfortunate realities are worth preserving the long-term viability of the country.

Full disclosure: I've never supported a Republican candidate before (don't really feel like I'm doing so now, really). Worst case and Trump doesn't win, at least many of the GOP have been exposed hopefully widespread change will finally come to the party.

  10. Duke,

    Hey BRB,

I apologize. I had a good long bit written and accidentally closed the tab (I want to smash my computer against me head at this moment). Cliff's Notes of what I had before:

The reason why you are having trouble with finding actual supporters and with getting extensive information from them is the real fear that they (and I) share about backlash for presenting views that ruling elite (who want to monitor and control free speech) does not deem acceptable. As such, I don't like going into too many specifics.

    My two main concerns:

Economy/Trade - A vote for Clinton is continuation of carte blance that FED has to print currency (NOT money) that is used to keep inflation up which helps to keep debts in check. This in turn continues to harm average Americans real spending power. A vote for Sanders would be even worse in this regard.

Refugees/Invasion - Like it or not, nationalism is returning throughout the world. Those who embrace it may see their countries economic prosperity continue. Those who don't will see increasing numbers of foreign workers brought into the country to account for abysmal birth rates. Globalism will hurt low-income and low-skilled domestic workers the worst. Trump will be the best at creating a reasonably fair and appropriately managed immigration system.

^^^^Truly awful scene last night, but at least all of the moderates and people on the fence will being voting for Trump....so....thanks Bernie!!

    #thankthabern!

Why on earth would you think that? No moderate is going to vote for Trump. The man is a fear mongering idiot with no substance.

    hahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.....

Oh? Please enlighten us to what socialism actually is.

What the sign guy is describing is communism which is not the same as Socialism. Communism was the ideology that no matter the job you did you got paid the same and everyone was equal (minus the fact that the whole system was corrupt at the top) whereas Socialism is the idea that what should be basic rights (education higher than HS, Medicine and healthcare etc) should be able to be readily available or free to anyone no matter your economic status. The surplus that the one percent holds right now with all the tax breaks available to them would be enough to help out those that aren't as privileged as you. Much of that money shouldn't be in that top 1 percent anyways as the wealth isn't being dispersed evenly among workers even in the slightest.

    To the bolded part, why?

And do you think that those in the highest tax brackets would continue to act the same, therefore creating the excess tax revenue that you allude to, without certain incentives?

Even if they acted the exact same, how much would the extra revenue from the one percent ACTUALLY help? Let's ask Neil and....Keely
