not that this is totally relevant, but this is one of my favorite LSUfreek gifs. he's made some pretty funny ones of Bo and Taylor Martinez also.

Bert says he's all hog. Confirmed.
I don't buy anything he says. I've been dry-heaving ever since I saw this

this makes me sick to my stomach. If Eichorst hires Bielema he's Steve Pedersen 2.0

rosters that make the police blotter.
one thing I feel pretty damn certain about: with Bo, stuff like that will NEVER happen at NU.
Well it appears that I just have impeccable timing. I'm the village idiot of Huskerboard

What do we have to do to get this entire thread deleted

Phenomenal display of jackassery...
I know this isn't the most humorous of situations but I laughed pretty hard at that comment. It's very accurate though, summed it up nicely in just four words

I had such high hopes for that kid. His HS film is one of the most impressive I've seen out of all the recruiting classes in the Bo Pelini era.

Florida Atlantic Owls - Win
McNeese State Cowboys - Win
Fresno State Bulldogs - Win
Miami Hurricanes - Win
Michigan State Spartans - Loss
Illinois Fighting Illini - Win
Northwestern Wildcats - Win
Rutgers Scarlet Knights - Win
Purdue Boilermakers - Win
Wisconsin Badgers - Win
Minnesota Golden Gophers - Win
Iowa Hawkeyes - Win
These are my predictions assuming no injuries. Our 2-deep is decisively better in every matchup except for MSU. And even then it is extremely close. But the home field advantage likely swings it in their favor.
Wisconsin is being overhyped , I'm predicting their season will be a major flop.
I usually don't put much stock into prior games having much effect on this season but I have a feeling the players will be at least a little bit mindful of last season's game with Iowa and play with a little extra juice

I was shaking my head harder and harder as I scrolled down. Thankfully someone righted the ship.ITT - the word "tattoo" has been spelled correctly once in 12 posts.
Somebody delete this thread before a fan of another team sees it. We're making that stupid "N on the helmet stands for knowledge" joke too easy for them

I gotta emphasize this since I see and hear so many Nebraska fans talking about a rivalry with Wisconsin.
Wisconsin fans do not care about us or having a rivalry. And I don't blame them, they've taken us to the woodshed 2 out of 3 times, and almost made it a third. Us declaring them a rival or clamoring for a rivalry with them reeks too much of Colorado declaring us rivals back in the day. A buddy of mine who is from Madison and a raging badgers fan has a major superiority complex when we talk football. He was pretty surprised that alot of us think UW-NU is or could be a rivalry. He basically said we're not on their radar since we haven't caused them much problem, and said most wisconsin fans feel this way. Minnesota and MSU, as of late, draws more juice for them than we do.

this might rankle some of you, but I think it's relevant to the discussion. I'm not trying to start a Bo debate.
Seeing Ohio State,USC, UNC, Miami, PSU, etc. affected by major scandals,Alabama's shady oversigning practices, and Florida under Meyer plagued with arrests, one thing I feel pretty damn certain about: with Bo, stuff like that will NEVER happen at NU. A lot of those programs won championships, but those came with the cost of scandals, shady practices, and rosters that make the police blotter. Is that worth it? I'm sure a lot of the fans of those programs might say yes, but being that many of us Nebraskans prize good character and values, I would say that isn't worth it.
The only NCAA violation we've had is that NU covered textbook expenses that they weren't supposed to. Pretty much says it all, the worst thing we've done is encouraging athletes to read outside their required course material.

#7 vs Iowa LINK
crouch's trucking of the Iowa guy is probably the toughest single play by husker QB (could make an argument for Frost's crackback) but his borderline quitting the team after getting beaten out by Bobby somewhat detracts from his perceived toughness
-
wow, pretty tough to decide between Frost, Lord, and Taylor.
To the guy who made the comment about the 'hammer/nail' categories, I'd say Jammal is more in the nail category than hammer. Took the high road when he was absolutely crapped on by fans in 2002, I was so impressed that he never complained or said a negative word. I'd say he probably got the most crap from fans than any other husker QB, more than frost and TM.
I'd probably have to go with Zac for the exact reason the OP and everyone else mentioned. It was pretty unbelievable Didn't ever chew out his linemen either, just shook it off and moved on to the next play.
-
PSU & Northwestern for sure, for the reasons you mentioned. The fumble controversy and hail mary added some serious spark, respectively. all the games we've played with both teams have gone down to the wire.
As for Wisconsin, from what I've gathered, Wisconsin fans couldn't care less about Nebraska. Mutual interest has to be there. and Iowa is just forced. Thought it would be a good idea before we joined the BIg 10 but all three games have lacked juice, so I don't really care much about a rivalry with Iowa at this point.

It definitely was Baker's decision. I was in favor of him on the DL too at the time since our O was pretty good and the defense was terrible. On top of that Bo was considered one of the best defensive minds in the game at the time and Baker was the #8 ranked recruit in the country. Couple that with the fact that Bo had just turned Glenn Dorsey into one of the best college DL's of all-time, my mind danced with the visions of Baker being one of the all time great DT's

In other news, Tyler Steinkuhler is attempting to drink another 1000 beers at the Brass Rail. Things look optimistic.
Haha I got a nice chuckle out of that. Point taken, well played.

@OWHbigred: #Huskers have had 1st or 2nd round pick in 4 of last 5 drafts after @HUSKER_SJB went to N.O. http://t.co/sUqb1rIEMw http://t.co/bd8kvNhwPZ
Adds a little extra ammo to the NFL sales pitch that the coaches use on their DB recruits. If he can turn a wide receiver with zero prior experience into a 2nd round pick at CB after just two seasons, his already strong credibility in DB development just got even stronger

I hear the playground equipment business is booming right now.
shut it down. Shawn Watson has won this thread

Lets not have this turn into a fire Bo thread. I just thought it would be good to remind people of the good things that have happened under Coach Pelini's regime.
-Ohio State Comeback/Biggest Point Margin comeback in NU history
-Upholds Zach Darlington's scholarship regardless of his playing future
-Excellent GPA and Graduation Rate
-Strict no nonsense off field drama: Ernest Suttles, Quentin Castille etc.
-Nick Pasquale tribute decal and gold/blue baloons for UCLA game
-Shows he can have a good relationship with team: Harlem Shake video, Cell Phone prank etc.
-Penn State pre-game prayer in aftermath of Sandusky scandal and JoePa firing
-Jack Hoffman Spring Game Touchdown and resulting.ESPY Award for Jack
Was Bo the mastermind behind all of these, perhaps not. But it all happened under his watch. Lets try to remember these things when you feel he is being to agressive on the sideline.
Please share what Ive left out.
Dunno if it's already been mentioned, but his press conference after the Penn State game in 2011 was the single greatest press conferences I've ever seen in any sport. Admittedly I'm being biased, but his words were the most eloquent thing you could say in a situation like that. The guy gets it when it comes to the right combination of competitive drive and perspective.

I read somewhere on LJS earlier in the week, but for some reason can't find the article, that Baker Steinkuhler was taking another shot at the NFL this year as an Offensive Lineman. It was a brief, one-line mention in an article about this year's draft hopefuls for the skers.
Obviously he won't get drafted, but what do you guys think about his viability as an OL at the next level. Too little, too late? Or will he get a camp invite? Stick with a team? I'm as interested in monitoring his pro prospects as SJB, Taylor, and Quincy.
-
I seem to remember you and other people saying there was something that we needed last year that would have prevented some losses......was it an offense? Couldn't be.
The point was Shawn Watson was retained to keep continuity. Even Osborne gave a nod to the offense not being a problem during the firing/hiring process.
And Bo was brought in to fix the defense. And here we are.
I have a pretty strong opinion that Shawn Watson didn't deserve to be fired. I think Tim Beck is better, but Watson didn't deserve so much of the blame for something greatly influenced by circumstances out of his control.

+1. The "Nebraska ties" stuff reeks too much of Meechigan's whole "michigan man" stuff and everyone outside of that program seems to agree that it holds them back
