  1. I follow this as much as I can. My slogan is "Anyone but Bush/Cheney" These guys are the biggest idiots. They are providing and helping the teeniest and tinest portion of the American population.
  2. I watched most of the game also. I have never seen so much speed on one field at one time by a bunch of 17 and 18 year olds. These guys are so far of anybody at there age even just 10 years ago. Toal from Jersey runs a 4.5 playing fullback?!?!?!??!? Pederson the RB was amazing in the second half. All the WR's caught, ran a made moves that broke ankles.
  3. To be honest, I don't care if I have ever heard of him or not. Those can sometimes turn out to be the best. There is a good chance he has bid his time, learned as much as he could, asked as many questions as possible and possible now if the situation comes up, he feels comfortable to take a head coaching position. Some coaches will not jump at the first chance they get to become a head coach. They feel very comfortable in the assisstant role. NU had all of those coaches for how long??? Gill could have gone to another team by now, same for Brown.
  4. Sorry Dave didn't see yours. You take it from here, keep us up to date.
  5. On a sports show in the Omaha area called Harrah's Sports soundoff, Dante Grixby is a guest. He was asked a question by Travis Justice, the host, "Would any players transfer if Pelini were not named the head coach?" With a firm and almost prearranged answer, he said, "Yes" Justice asked how many, he said " 10, between 5-10 players will transfer." Oh crap
  6. This is one of those things where it can be taken way out of context or maybe not?? God damn it....what does it all mean?????
  7. Not much for the NFL, but you gotta love the Patriots. Brady's a warrior on an offense that averages about 10 points a game and wins.
  8. Could it really be that the BIg 12 is overrated?? Do the teams feel they are just going to role over teams or are they just not that good. I'm watching the Sugar Bowl and LSU just looks bigger, stronger and much faster.
  9. Lincoln Journal Star confirms that Mike Zimmer, the defensive cordinator for the Dallas Cowboys has been contacted and possible scheduled for an interview. http://www.journalstar.com/sports.php?sect...f%7CSPX+Coaches eric "the Red"
  10. This should be interesting
  11. He called Nu the most prestigious job in the country. He wanted to wait till after the bowl game to interview out of "respect" to the coaching staff. The reason for this unexpected press conference is because the $$$ amounts and speculation were ridiculous and getting out of control. He has an established list of candidates that do include formal interviews with Turner Gill and Bo Pelini. No offer was ever made to any coach.(What the f#*k?) He did present examples of his previous hires at Pitt. and elsewhere about people questioning his decsion and time tables and how in most cases it turned out for the best. He also commented on Pete Carroll and Jim Tressel as being third and fourth choices and they worked out. He called on 1.7 million Nebraskan to "Let us work the process and stand behind me and the decisions we are making", "give us time" He will not give candidates names out of respect to their Universities. When asked about recruiting and isn't he afraid of losing some, he basically said oh well you need to get an established coach ion there first. Because with that a good recruiter cab get the job done done no matter the time frame. He probably does have the best knowledge when it does come to recruiting. eric "the red"
  12. He has made the phone calls and we do have the money, but nobosy is either stupid enough or has the balls to step up and except the job. Pure humiliation....all of this eric "the red"
  13. Sorry Pile I just noticed you put this up all ready. Thanks for helping us out that are away from Nebraska. http://www.1620thezone.com/ eric "the red"
  14. This from LJS, "Pelini is still interested in the job, but when asked Saturday by the Journal Star if he had heard from Pederson, Pelini said: "No. I've attempted to contact him three times (since Monday's Alamo Bowl) and haven't heard a word from him. Pederson will hold a news conference at 3 p.m. to discuss the situation. NU sports information director Chris Anderson said there would be no announcement about a new head coach at that time."
  15. Pederson is in too deep now. There will be a press conference at 3 pm . I think it will be on webcast 1620 or something along those lines. Look into it if your not in the area. Also, word on Pelini, unless he is named head coach, he will not return. This from a local Lincoln radion station. Pelini wants a little over a million a year and be able to be let go from his contract at any time.
  16. Yeah well the press conference is over and done with. On Channel 6 news in Omaha they had the conference live with Nutt and Broyles. He isn't coming. Here's the link to OWH. http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_np=0&u_pg...38&u_sid=964129 Now what???? eric"the red"
  17. Oh brother... I don't know, does anyone care anymore?? ...ok stupid ??
  18. And if you were drunk, that's LSU drunk, you were drinking for 30 straight hours, just fininshing up your second case of beer and polishing off a bottle of something with your eggs and bacon (not a pun), and starting the days ring tournament. very nice eric "the red"
  19. "I believe I'd be considering my options a long time before I took that Nebraska job," Clark said. "Their expectations are to be in the top 10 and contend every year for the national championship. If you don't do it you're going to be out of there." -William E. Clark, the chairman of the University of Arkansas Board of Trustees This is probably quite true. Arkansas is all right with being a middle of the pack kind of team. Having a few big games every year and then stumbling over their own feet against others. Should Nebraska put his kind of pressure on their football team to be the best........ever year??? eric "the red"
  20. No no Pile, your my bitch, I can bringin harder then you anytime Hey Pile *"Your so friggin' ugly you could be a modern arts masterpiece" *A jelly donut?" *"Well what the hell are you waiting for?, up and over. Get the hell off of my obstacle........GET THE HELL OFF OF MY OBSTACLE, you friggin fat piece of crap, QUIT!!!!" thank you goodbye, eric "the red"
  21. No not at all. Although if Nutt were from any other school, in the same situation he would have taken the job. He is from Ark., played ball there, grew up there, was a ball boy for the Univ., and now apparently is going to be offered an administrative position. This way if he screws up coaching they don't even have to fire him. They'll tell him to step down and take a seat in his new posh office and make daily appearances around town to raise money for whatever it is. 1. Bo Pelini 2. Bill Callahan - Raiders 3. Dick Jaraed - Bears. eric"the red" ps In college I once had a few girl (friends) from Omaha (for a couple hours anyway).
  22. LSUNizz, Why are you sorry?? Did you say something that wasn't true?? No I don't think so. Don't mind Pile, he gets very animated when someone speaks ill of the 'skers. I have never seen people drink as much and eat as much of that spicy crawfish fry stuff or boil in my life then I did when I went to a couple CWS games in '99 (I think) eric "the red"
  23. I think it will hurt some fundraising, but the majority of the major donors will donate if Melissa "Lincoln" were to become the coach.
  24. This is like a god damn sitcom, now word is talks have hit a snag. OWH report http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_np=0&u_pg...38&u_sid=963563
