Read that he had experience early on in his career as a Special Teams coach. Could be able to help out there for us as well.
-
Maybe going to use this as an opportunity to switch to a 3-4? Our current personnel would support that more than a 4-3
-
Think he was a big loss in our recruiting department. But can't blame him for leaving to start a coaching career. Wish him the best.

Would be an incredible hire IMOWhat about Larry Johnson - DL/Asst Head Coach at the OSU?

Well OSU now has 7 WR commits so that pick makes a lot of sense...
-
As stated above. if he doesn't end up here USC may be the option that is best for us. Could definitely help push Johnson and Lenoir our way.
Really hope we can get at least one of those 3.

I think we may see some changes next year with DWill taking over as passing game coordinator

Nice to read a thread with some realistic and rational thinking.
This offseason is a critical turning point for our program. Critical to finish strong in recruiting and critical to have some key player development. We have some young talented players on the roster, we need to develop them while also building more depth behind them.
Think we see a completely different team next season, whether there will be substantial improvement or we get the same results is yet to be seen.

Wisconsin runs a 3-4. And Alabama.I guess I just don't remember any great 3-4 defenses I've watched in college and as result don't recall who they had for players. Just guessing but woudn't it require someone of Suh's category to play that nose tackle. It seems with just 3 defensive linemen, all of them better be 'double team' type guys to occupy the O line. It would seem to me that just three big guys would be insufficient to stop the power run offenses like Wisconsin and (NU of the past). Teams would likely just chew us up and spit us out. Your LBs are gonna need to be big AND fast both. We don't seem to be able to find those types either - thus Gerry at Safety becomes a leader run stopper. I don't think great run defenses feature safety as the leading tackler spot. Someone please correct me on this as I have seen so little 3-4 I don't feel I am that aware of the pros and cons.

Just great timing right as the dead period starts....

Just IMO, he seems like he may be a plan B guy if we are unable to get Calvin. No idea if it's true, but I think our top slot WR is Calvin with Holmes #2.
-
It'd be nice if we had any sort of an offensive game plan. Creighton is clearly well coached and uses its talent to their advantage with the way they play offensively. Wish we could say the same.
-
Why do you assume he was "shown the door"? Maybe he made a personal decision to transfer? But I suppose that doesn't fit many fan's narrative about the coaches. With Darlington's concussion history, AJ Bush should've been prepared to play as a potential #2. Instead, he's basically shown the door.
That's inept coaching. My 2 cents. Not interested in arguing about it.

Looks like he has a rib protector on, like what some QBs wear. I wonder if he will wear that during the game.

Something going on with Eno Benjamin....

Calvin makes the most sense IMO

Don't feel like reading through 9 pages to see if this has been said, but Banderas and Young have been playing really slow today. They need to step it up or get replaced.

Run defense is very impressive thus far.
Pass defense limits the big plays (minus the one at the end of the first half) but will allow some short passes but they limit YAC. So overall improved.
Tommy actually was pretty sharp and accurate with his throws, they just weren't all the correct decision.
Its nice to be on the plus side of the turnover margin, even if some were pretty lucky
Defense hustles a lot more, allows them to get lucky with some turnover opportunities
Penalties suck and need major improvement
Bruce Read still is not making an impact
Huskers have some strange bumps on the back of the shoulder pads

Interesting the Oregon made the top 5 without offering. Probably has a lot to do with Lenoir.
-
Well this year didn't finish as we'd hoped but we have some decent talent that'll be back. Here is a general guess and what the team would look like.
1B - Schreiber
2B - Schleppenbach
3B - Alvarado?
SS - ?? Maybe an incoming freshman?
LF - Dilday
CF - Boldt if he stays
RF - Meyers
DH - Miller
Starting Pitchers - Waldron, Burkamper, Meyers
Closer - Leunsmann - we also return a good amount of our bullpen so that will be helpful.
I also kept Boldt on here, not sure if he stays or not. I think our chances to keep him are better because he had a down year at the plate and may not be drafted as high.
Additionally, not sure about any incoming freshman. Anyone have any good info regarding them?

I'd consider bringing him in for KlemkeDo you pinch hit Schreiber if the situation arises?
-
Interesting, hes a good athlete and would be a good piece to have anywhere on the team. Not to mention he has good connection with Rahyme and Lenoir. Hopefully it won't hurt our chances with him or his friends.

The way I interpreted this from Schaefer was that Thomas said he didn't really care what scheme we ran and that Parrella told him he wasn't sure if we were staying with the 4-3 or not. Essentially implying it's not a big deal.
