  1. His biggest argument is that Gregory doesn't have the strength. Well he didn't mention that Gregory had 24 reps on the bench while clowney only had 21. While Gregory isn't the biggest guy, you can't say he is weak.

He also had a pretty impressive bull rush this year along with a good variety of other moves.

Count me as someone who thinks Gregory will be a stud 3-4 OLB.

  2. If Reed plays the hybrid or safety.... that leaves us thin at LB still. I'm not counting on Rose to come back as good off that dreadful knee injury. Santos had knee problems as well. If Barry doesnt academically make it, we could be as thin as Newby, Banderas, Ferguson, and Talan (Reed -S/Hybrid, Barry - Academic Casualty, Santos/Rose - injury problems). Hopefuly this isn't the case as this was a worst case scenario and i'm sure the coaches have double checked the transcripts and stuff, but just something else to think about.

Don't forget about Dedrick Young, he is already here and already has the athletic ability to play right away and I think he will.
  3. Count me in as Dedrick Young being the underrated recruit in this class. I think he has a good chance to play significant snaps next fall.

However, in 4 years when we look back on this class, I think the one who will have had the best career is Stanley Morgan.

  4. I like Nate Gerry but he is often overmatched in the open field against speed players. Would it be better for him to play closer to the LOS? I was at the Holiday Bowl and the fans around me were expressing the same sentiment that long term Gerry does not have the speed/quickness necessary at safety plus he takes a ton of bad angles. I'll be interested to watch Gerry's development. Started off season well but seemed to regress down the stretch...perhaps long season wore him down? Or are we in for a position change here?

The guy has great coverage skills and was our leading tackler for a long time. The issues on defense were far from him. This notion is a bit ridiculous.

  5. Players are not too happy:

@JordanWesty1: Unreal. Bo believed in me and I 100% believed in him. Can't believe this....

@TheRealVRVJ: At a loss for words. Wouldn't be where I am in my career without Bo & Kaz. Best coaches I ever played for. I can't believe this.

@brasko7: That's the worse way to wake up in the morning. Smh that's some Bull real talk man. I guess stability doesn't mean anything

@NathanGerry: He's the reason we came here

@Tommy_Gun4: Biggest mistake you ever made.... Bo was the best coach I've ever had and I'll always appreciate the things you taught me.

@J_Mitch05: Smh terrible decision just awful smh 9 wins gets you fired? Thank you coach Bo for everything u did for me & this team over ur tenure

Another interesting option would be Cam Cameron, he is currently the OC/QB coach at LSU. Has a ton of NFL experience, great QB coach and runs the style that I think we need. He might be my top choice at this point.

    That's an interesting candidate, Dorn.

Although I will say that LSU's QB development worries me a bit. They typically have an athlete running around playing QB with a cannon but very little in the way of touch or accuracy running around back there. Very similar to TA, actually. They are however a power running team, and with Cameron you'd know that getting bizarre or bipolar in our use of the running game wouldn't be a problem.

We'll have to see how this shakes out though. Most think we're going with an offensive coach anyway so we'd probably implement his system.

Yeah I liked what he was able to do with Mettenberger last year. That kind of pro style offense with power running would be ideal.
