  1. It is no joke that he is totally focused on being the best he can be at what he loves ... carrying the rock. First time I saw him carry the rock in his soph year at Katy ... I knew he was going to be something special. I've been telling ya'll that since I first came on the board back in Dec. 2012. Don't keep being surprised at anything he does. Just coach him up, he'll get himself prepared and just give him the rock and a little blocking. Then sit back and watch the show. Now don't get the idea I don't want ya'll to not post about how he is doing. I love hearing about how Adam is doing. Just don't act surprised about what he does. Adam is going to be a stud ... the power "I" back ya'll have been longing for. Just be sure to give him some tips on driving in the snow ... wouldn't want him to get hurt in a wreck this winter. And of course don't change your colors ... Adam loves "RED". And keep packing the house (that should not be a problem) as Adam loves playing in front of a "Sea of Red" and a SRO crowd
  2. Over a year ago at the Katy "Lift-a-Thon" which is an annual event where the players showcase their lifting skills ... if my memory serves me, I believe Adam benched something just under 400lbs. Have no idea what he did in squats. By now you have a good idea what he can do on the field, so I would just sit back and enjoy the show.
  3. Here is a short interview with Katy Coach Joseph and Rodney Anderson. My take is that he is committed to Texas A & M, but didn't seem to get excited about it too much. Maybe, just Maybe ... he wants the phones to quit ringing off the walls so he can concentrate on enjoying his last 2 years at Katy and playing football. You can tell he is a quiet kid and well spoken ... doesn't seem to want to be in the spotlight. Two more years in the Katy Program and this kid is going to be hell on wheels. We are looking for many of Adam's records to be broken by this young man. http://www.csnhouston.com/high-school/katy-ramps-run-title-no-8
  4. About Rodney Anderson and his committment to Texas A&M. Here is the link to the thread discussing it. If you want to throw your 2 cents worth in the discussion ... here is where you can do it. Remember he still has a lot of growing to do and he hasn't even played his first game as a junior yet. Of course I know you will keep comments respectful and keep in mind he has family members that know a little about football at the next level as well as the level after that. I read last year that he has an uncle that is currently playing in the NFL. I'm sure the folks on the Katy Board would love to hear from you. And if you make a post you also might give them a little update on how Adam is doing up there. They always like to hear good things about former Katy players at the next level. http://www.ktrainstation.net/forum/index.php?p=/discussion/770/rodney-anderson-will-be-a-aggie#Item_14
  5. I just heard that on the Katy message board. I think it is a little early for someone to commit before their junior year even starts. I know he was attracting a lot of offers for a junior to be. Don't know if the Husker staff communicated an interest to him or not. But, hey it is early. remember LSU and Adam Taylor ... that turned out real well for LSU ... Hmmm. So give it some time and tell the Husker recruiters if they have an interest, they need to let him know. Rodney is going to be another stud with all his skills especially with his receiving skills. Has good hands, vision and runs good routes. If he stays healthy he will make some team very happy at the next level. It ain't over till it's over
  6. You have a great fan base up there. Could add 10,000 more seats and still be sold out and have folks waiting. Adam is going to love the atmosphere on game day up there. It's kinda like here in Katy except on a much larger scale. I would bet he is really going to be pumped when he comes out on the field for his first game and sees and hears that massive sea of red ... it eill be just like home but a whole lot bigger. Just be sure to give him some tips on driving in the snow.
  7. Are ya'll sure you don't want to send him back? Katy is looking for a back-up for our featured RB Rodney Anderson. Opposing defenses would take great care in making sure they didn't injure Rodney knowing Adam would come in ... just a little mindless humor. I'm sure you can make Adam happy ... all you have to do is pack the house and don't change your colors.
  8. dylan ... I appreciate your concern about most young guys not being able to pass pro and thus being held back. But, I also hope you know Adam is not just another young guy moving up to the next level. Have a little faith my friend ... Adam has all the tools and the capability to use them. We guarantee it ... if you are unsatisfied for any reason ... we will take him back ... no questions asked.
  9. blessed2bahusker ... to answer your question ... yes Adam can lay someone down as good as anyone and loves the contact. There is a video of him being a lead blocker when another RB scored a TD and he put the opposing CB into the next county. I'll see if I can find and post it becuase we thought it was really funny because it seemed so effortless. In that State Championship Game ... the Katy QB was playing with a broken leg. If you revisit the Adam Taylor v Cedar Hill video again you will notice on one of Adam's long TD runs late in the game the QB was having a hard time jumping up trying to celebrate. I think he only threw 3 passes the whole game ... hard to pass when you can't set your feet. Any way he did not take a hit the whole game ... so someone was doing a lot of blocking along with the O-line. Give me a few days to find the video clip. In any event ... all the coaches need to do is show him what they want him to do and he will get it done. You will learn that this young man is very focused in everything he does. In the Katy offense everybody blocks or they don't see play time. Also in the Katy offense ... in the power sweep the QB is the lead blocker responsible for sealing the corner ... so we were very limited on our ground game in that Championship Game. Another FYI ... in that Championship Game Katy had 3 starters and 3 back-ups in the O-line out with injuries ... so we had to move up 4-5 JV linemen to play the whole game. And these JV players had never played a single down on varsity. So our O-line looks pretty good for this year as we just reload the O-line. It is like Adam said in the post game interview when asked about all the injuries ... "In a big game players just have to step up". As for the pass pro ... he will step up and get it done. Have a little faith my friends and you will enjoy watching him play as I did down here in Katy or where ever we played. Wear Red and pack the house ... Adam loves to play in front of the "Red Sea" wearing RED. All the best my friends
  10. You guys are finally getting the picture about Adam TD Taylor. I tried to tell ya'll a little about him but some were slow to come to the table. If you like what you see now that's good ... but wait till you see him on the field wearing "RED". We of the "KATY NATION" believe there is power in "RED" and come Saturdays you will see it in Adam. And he gives the glory to his team mates in the trenches. And on top of all you already see ... he is just a down to earth good kid that is as serious about his academics as he is about his football. And here it is again ... my favorite football video titled: Adam Taylor v Cedar Hill ... 30carries/275yds/5 TDs/MVP Texas State Championship Game-Nuff Said http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NP_zQYt9o2w
  11. Hey Bone ... that IS cool and I'll be watchin. Another thing that's cool is in 48 days / 5 hrs. / 55 min Katy will tee-it-up and I'll be watchin that too ... but you can't watch ...er, unless you are ready for a road trip. If you make the drive you won't have to worry about parking or getting a seat ... the game is at Reliant Stadium (home of the Texans). Come on down and check out our talent that' going to the next level. Just thinking about about the new season helps me make it thru the heat and humidity.
  12. I think the intangibles he brings with him will sevve him well as a Husker. The desire, focus and conditioning that he showcased in the Texas State Championship Game will serve the Huskers very well especially when they run the power sweep. The way he came back from the torn ACL and performed as he did last year is nothing short of incredible ... 44TDs and over 2700YDs, averaging 9YDs per carry. We are sure gonna miss him here in Katy, but we will just reload and go for another Championship again this year.
  13. blessed2bahusker ... I don't know about his taste in women, but on your other point ... they have to grow up fast if they want to play on Friday Nights, mentally and physically.
  14. You should have picked up his tab that way he would have come over and thanked you ... and then you could have said welcome to Nebraska ... LOL.
  15. Being a long way from friends and family is tough on any freshman in college and takes some time to adjust. But being able to wear his good old #28 has got to help with the adjustment and help make him feel like he is part of the family. A family that also believes there is power in RED ... just a little bigger. Well played by the coaching staff. I think he drives a black full sized SUV. Might need to have a fund raiser so he can get a good set of steel studded snow tires. Wouldn't want to have him get hurt in an accident. I told the Founding Director of the Pacific Northwest (PNW) Chapter of the Katy Nation (who is a Univ. Washington Alum) to have their recriutors keep an eye on Adam last year. Well they didn't pay attention. So now they are going to get a real good look at him ... up close and personal.
  16. Do you have the name and e-mail of the coaching staff member who recruited Adam Taylor. I'd be more than happy to get him some info on Rodney
  17. EZ-E... WOW, If it gets to the Lousiana crowd then it will get to tjhe Houston area folks as well. So, then Adam should feel right at home. Would like your opinion here ... do you think the Husker recruiters have an interest in the Katy RB Rodney Anderson?
  18. desertshox ... you may have some humidity up there, but it's nothing like the heavy humidity we have down on the Gulf Coast. Just ask the Bellevue Wolverines ... a high caliber team from Seattle that came down here to play Katy. They said they have constant humidity 24/7/365. They started dropping like flies early 3nd qtr. they had players going down about every 5-6 plays. It was tough to watch. Add the heavy humidity to the heat and you have a tough environment to play in. First few ?games of the season are rough on the players ... and us fans too.
  19. Ask Adam if he misses the heat and humidity we get in July, August and early Sept. I'm sure he is glad to get away from that. Then come August tell Adam he can tune in to www.tsrnsports.com to listen to the internet broadcast of the Katy Games. It's great to have a supportive football family surround you when you are that far from home. While we will miss watching him on Friday Nights, we will look forward to seeing him on Saturdays. This is what he misses. Nighthttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6mnccUEvyks. This is how it really is here in Katy
  20. Then do you make a run at Rodney Anderson? If you get him, that would be a real coup. You would have to go thru his Dad and his Uncle. If you ever saw his Dad and his Uncle you would have an idea of what you will get ... both of them are real physical specimens. His uncle plays in the NFL and his Dad looks like he could. Rodney is a very polite and quiet kid ... doesn't talk much and doesn't seem to care about the publicity. He just likes to play football and making good grades. Kind of unusual these days.
  21. I understand that Adam is now 220lb @ 6'-1" and could very easily be that power back that the Huskers have been waiting for. Question is ... do you play him this year or redshirt him. Or maybe play Adam this year and recruit Rodney Anderson. Redshirt Rodney so you have 3 years seperation between them. Then you would have back to back power RBs. Tough situation. Do you think you can get Rodney to come to Lincoln? ... would be one hell of an offensive weapon with his receiving skills. If you work it right you could pull it off. That would give you 7 years of Rbs. And that is with both RBs coming in having run the "power I" since JR High. We start them early here in Katy with all the JR. High Schools that feed into Katy High run the same "O" that Katy does. That way they already know the offense from day one at Katy. And it proved invaluable when Adam Tore his ACL early in the first game of the season and Rodney Anderson stepped in at starting RB before he attanded his first class as a freshman.
  22. EZ-E ... I would think longer than that. Maybe like 4 months ... it's a long season.
  23. Atbone95 ... well I'm originally a Montana boy and I'm used to snow, ice and black ice. When I moved down here and watched these folks drive in the snow and ice it was like bumper cars all over the place and turned into hell on wheels. You wouldn't want to be out on the roads in Lincoln with a winter storm blowing in with a bunch of Texas (especially Gulf Coast Area) boys out there in their SUV's with cattle guard bumpers. So, give them a little instruction so no one gets hurt. You should see it down here when we get that rare winter storm ... it's a total disaster on the roads. It would be funny watching it if so many people didn't get injured in all the wrecks.
  24. Hey there EZ-E. Long time no see. If your bet is that Adam sees good amount of play time this year ... you won't see me on the other side of that bet. By the way, there are a few Katy players ya'll need to be looking at. Jake Blomstrom @ LB, Wilkerson @ DE and the next Katy phenom in Rodney Anderson. Time to start building the pipeline. We have 8 players that already have offers ... so you don't want to be a Johnny come lately. And make sure Adam gets some tips on how to drive in the snow.
  25. HuskerFowler ... good to hear Adam is up there getting ready. Some folks were talking about Adam right after the State Championship game. They were saying that after the Title Game he took a couple days off for Christmas and he was back in the weight room and following up with his trainers every day. So, it sounds like he is on a mission ... kind of like when he was doing rehab for the torn ACL. From what I know, he is one of the most focussed players you will ever see. Be sure to give him some tips on driving in the snow. And here it is again ... my favorite football video... Adam Taylor v Cedar Hill http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NP_zQYt9o2w
