  1. Moos said in the Hoiberg presser that with his coaching searches for Frost and Hoiberg that he did not have to go to No. 2 on his list. It could be argued that both were the best realistic hires for Nebraska at the time of job openings. It got me thinking with the four HC football hires post-Osborne leading up to Frost, were any the best realistic coach prospect for that time? If not, who would it have been during each of the three coaching searches?

I do qualify with the idea that it is a realistic hire for Nebraska, I mean if you wanted to argue that Saban or Dabo would have been a better hire than Frost, fair play, but those guys weren’t coming to Lincoln.

Here is the complete question I asked.  I did not say they were acting on the behalf of their country, I asked you rhetorically if they were.  And I'll add, if they were where is the proof?   Are we calling attorney's from foreign counties foreign agents now because they are acting on behalf of their countries government or does that just suit the way the left/press want to put this info out?      Please don't try to twist the wording to something it isn't!

Ah! Your phrasing was weird. I thought you were trying to provide alternative definitions to a "foreign agent", which the label you provide would be irrelevant. I should have known based on your other posts.

Anyway, I know when a discussion is DOA, so carry on.

You can use whatever term for the lawyer that you want, but what concerns me is what you just said, "they are acting on behalf of their countries government". Agreeing to acquire damaging information about a political opponent from a person who is acting on behalf of a foreign government. Think about that. Now, recognize the same foreign government was concurrently conducting a campaign to manipulate the outcome of our election.

Sure they tell him after he's elected!  Why not tell him during the election.  Also the Russian that met with Don J., Jared and Manafort, when the meeting was set up because the Russian attorney was to disclose dirt on Hillary, was all a setup by the DNC/Clinton's.  The meeting lasted 15 minutes and was quickly closed because they smelled a rat.  Boy what a meeting.  But I know that many will believe what he fake news tells them and will believe the lying narrative they put out.

There is a lot to unpack in this post, but most I do not care to quarrel over. To be honest, what can the American public actually believe from politicians (including Trump) and partisan media (e.g., Fox and MSNBC)? One thing that seems consist and something you are acknowledging as well is that the Trump campaign team took a meeting with a foreign asset in hopes to gain damaging information from a political adversary. That is unethical, illegal, and treasonous.

The vague "I saw this coming" tweets from several members of the local media are tedious. You're so connected that you caught wind of stuff coming down the pipe... but you're too worried about losing your connections so you won't tell anyone. Instead, after stuff happens, you nod wisely and say, "Yep, this confirms what I've been hearing for a while..."

That's pretty useful information there, media guy. We all owe you one!  :thumbs

Yeah, that is a trait in the Husker media I find deplorable. The one phrase that I hear a lot from Husker media on the radio and in podcasts is “it does not surprise me”. You are not viewed as smart or insightful or even good at your job when you pretend to have forecasted something to never addresses previously. Just makes them sound unprepared and stupid.

I rarely listen to S&B, but when I have, I’ve heard the “Franklin” references — what’s that all about?  I’ve never understood it.  (Not that I care, but since you brought it up ...)

He uses the term towards his co-host when he’s trying to make a point. To me, it just comes off as immature, belittling and very unbecoming.

It is an inside joke on the show. A caller during one of the Big Red Overreaction segments called Gary, “Gary Franklin Sharp” because his middle name starts with a “F”. Damon and others (like guest hosts and weekly interviewees) call Gary that as a lighthearted term of endearment.

that show is pure trash whenever Gary sharpe isn't on. i used to like benning's commentary, but over the past year or two it's really gotten weird. self-serving, i-know-more-than-you-but-i-won't-say-but-i'll-let-you-know-i-do-know, e.t.c.

Just curious of peoples thoughts, but is Jordan plan A and Parker plan B here? Anyone have a preference as well?

I like both but I do think Jordan has more of the "freak" athleticism to him but both seem to be solid in that area. I wouldn't be disappointed if Parker is a consolation prize here

I have heard some people more recently rank it Jordan > Parker. This is actually surprising as Parker was initially considered the better prospect, has a higher ranking, and was offered much earlier by Nebraska. It is the latter point that makes me feel Nebraska has it Parker > Jordan and always had. Personally, I think Jordan has got some run by Nebraska fans because of the "local talent" bias.

If ASU contacted him after he signed that is solely on Herm. They have access to a portal which shows who has signed. Would have taken two seconds.

This was a very predictable scenario.

If feel that it will create a scenario for NCAA recruitment violations. Programs are not allowed to reach out to players for the purpose of recruitment after they sign a LOI. If the prospects don't make it known who they signed with, some programs will not realize that these players already signed and find themselves violating NCAA rules.

However, you are right that college football programs have access to the NLI portal, so it is on the ASU staff for doing their due diligence. It is the second year of the early signing period, but the first time that I am aware a player did not publicly disclose his signing. It is a recipe for violations.

Man I didn't realize his recruitment got so nasty. According to the HOL guys someone/people in the ASU football program were leaking straight lies to ASU reporters in attempt to save face on losing out on him. Apparently someone told an ASU writer that "Noa's dad forced him to sign early with Nebraska and NPG and his mom wanted him wanted him to stay home in Tempe." He followed with "both kept the signing a secret from NPG's mom who was pro ASU."

Probably not a smart idea to openly bash a in state kid and spread lies in the media when you already have a very hard time getting these guys to state in state.

There were also saying that some in the media that covers ASU were salty about NPG decision to conceal his signing because they were predicting he will sign with ASU just to find out it had been over for a while. As a result, some were attacking his character and that of Frost. Also, there may have been a recruiting violation by ASU who made contact with NPG after his signed his LOI with Nebraska.
