  1. Based on his UVs to N, he went to the Arkansas St, Idaho St, Michigan, and Minnesota games last year. Definitely a big fan of :bigredn:

He's a high school kid in Lincoln... :D

I'm just playing with you. Paulie, ADS, I know you guys have watched the football down in the Lincoln area with Banderas and Foster. Ever seen this kid play? Opinions?

Outside of Foster, he's probably the second best prospect in the state. Like him better than Phillips, worthy of an offer for sure. I wouldn't mind seeing him at WR, and maybe getting him up around 210-215

I've watched him play a few times. Nothing overly impressive, but he does have a nose for the ball. He is always in position and making a play on the ball, which is encouraging.

I would say that is impressive.

  2. Back to this crap! Seriously? If the young man received an offer from Nebraska and this staff, it's because he is worthy of it! PLAIN AND SIMPLE!!!

The low number of offers to instate kids the last few cycles should temper all talk of us giving offers to in state kids just cause they are in state. I thought we'd moved past this thinking. Congrats Mr. Gifford, hope you decide on :bigredn:

I'm not saying who we offer isn't worthy of it, but some people seem to think every kid who is somewhat talented in the state SHOULD be offered and that just isn't the case, nor should it be.

Why are we concerned about this? Gifford seems like a solid safety that can help with the run defense, and, obviously, Bo and staff find him worth a schollie. That should end the argument right there.

  3. He released his top 10 today. We didn't make it.

Claims those are his "final 10" not just a top 10

About a full year til NSD 2014. We should still be pressing on this guy.

if there is no interest now why waste all the resources and miss out on other prospects?

Because this guy's a stud, and I am a wishful thinker.

What is his top 10 anyway?

247 Sports has him "warm" for Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Michigan, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio State, Penn Sate, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, and West Virginia.

Rivals and Scout have him "medium" for Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State, Virginia, Virginia Tech.

This is not new information, but I am just answering my own question for those interested.

Top 10: Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State, Virginia, Virginia Tech

  4. Losing must be fun

Going there should give him a chance at getting playing time though, early in his career.

Yeah, and a great seat for KU basketball.

Other than that, why would anyone choose Fatty Weisbuckle over a chance to play for the Huskers?

Kid is fast and will only get better. Would be a very nice get. Sounds like his mom is high on KU and him staying close to home. None the less he s someone we need to continue working hard. The lack of success by KU has to be souring some of these Kansas kids on KU you would think?

His mom wants him close to home.

  5. Back on Wisky II are we. My 2 cents, the team was just plain worn out. The win out philosophy of the team after the OSU loss was fulfilled and the team just couldn't get up for another big game. I know you say, but how? I don't know how. But I coached 20+ years of FB and have seen it happen many times. Heck it happened when I was playing. We won our conference title by beating our school rival for all the marbles. Going into the game we were picked to lose by everyone. We killed them 34-14. Next week we lose in the 1st round of the playoffs to a team that shouldn't even have been within 2 tds of us. We just couldn't get up to play again. Football is a very emotional game and a game driven by momentum. Everything went right for Wishy right away and they never looked back.

+1. Fast-forward a month later, and they had a Georgia team that was yards way from playing for a NC on the ropes in the third quarter but just couldn't close it out. Obviously, the extra time preparing for the bowl game helped, coaching-wise, but also for the players to recharge and refocus.

  6. Focused on Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan State, Nebraska, UNC, Penn State, Rutgers, and Tennessee

of corse Kentucky is on his list . i hope he isn't attached to Marrow as McWilson is. that being said, i still think we have a decent shot at him.

Ya, but McWilson had some regrets after signing day went down. Too bad. He could have done well here but put pen to paper without thinking everything through.

Not to derail the conversation from DeShone, but I did not hear about Mr. McWilson's regrets. Details.
