  1. Our recruiting guy tweeted this morning that "Monday will be a good day".

Most are assuming it is about Johnson or Dan Skipper.

:confucius What? What have we done to recruit Dan Skipper (have we even given him an offer)? I thought it was all about Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Ohio State (even Arkansas) for him.

Hey, I ain't knocking him at all (he is huge!). If he wants to come, I say 'Welcome'.

    Check his member name.

    :waste Duh! Sorry.

  3. I am high on Taylor and Newby, no doubt. However, with Smith and Green (newly added), does Michigan now have the best RB duo this year?

Regardless, we are much deeper in our current RB stable, but I am only talking about this recruiting class.

  4. What's the time frame here? His buddy Tony Stevens committed to Auburn on Jan 20. However, Taj Williams must be higher on Auburn's list, and he still has an OV to Louisville Jan 25. Are we in limbo until after Williams OV?

Bet Dom stays N if TW commits to Auburn. Too many young talented WRs in Auburn's recruiting class this year alone to see him on the field as a freshman. If game time is what he wants, it will not be at Auburn.

    IDEAS?

  5. Not a fan of the back and forth, but let the kid choose. Torching him is unjustified. We pulled Vandenburg's offer b/c we were looking at Carter and gave some half-cocked excuse. This is a high school kid trying to play the recruiting game. May be intimidated to speak his mind to Bo in person.

If he wants to be a gamer, tell him to come to N and learn from the :afro:

  6. Well, it is what it is. The coaches have worked their butts off for this kid. If he chooses to go somewhere else....good luck. If he chooses us...Welcome.

This is the best perspective to have. He is a great athlete, and the coaches have worked hard to recruit him. Ultimately, he needs to go where he feels will give him the best opportunity. Hope it is N! GBR!

  7. I'm not sure why you think I assume he will be a failure. Thats not what I intended to say or mean. There are also stories like Leon Jackson who came in as an athlete but never really found a spot. He was thought to be an excellent athlete with tons of upside. Stanley Batiste was expected to be a good receiver but struggled and moved because we had lack of quality and depth problems at DB. While he has had some good games I don't think he is a natural DB. Maybe if I had said I like a kid with quick hips playing CB who was recruited to play CB instead of a bigger kid who should be playing backup safety or nickel. :B)

Let's not sell this kid short. It sounds more like an issue for the coaching staff. He is a natural athlete with versatility, so if he comes on board, he should be vetted at a couple of positions of need and see where he shines.

  8. Anyone know for sure he isn't coming here or all speculation?

He hasn't really mentioned us for a couple of months. He's been talking alot about UCLA/LSU for quite sometime now, and has taken atleast 2 UO visits to UCLA to go along with his OV. He hasn;t come out and actually said Nebraska is out of the race, but at this point it's tough to say we have a chance.

I see T. Goodman going to UCLA not LSU. He keeps postponing his visits to LSU and already had a few to UCLA (including this past weekend). If there is a package deal, I expect to see Goodson and Willis at Memorial Stadium next year, only playing for the Bruins.

Of course, Willis said he was still high on us after the in-home with Coach TJ recently. Big get if he is N.
