I hope today's interviews put the final nail in the coffin of the Gebbia conversation and we can start focusing on the kids who are here. By all accounts, it sounds like some outside influence got the better of TG. Either someone close to him who he loves/respects or the idea of being a backup just festered and didn't sit with him well over the evening.

Um, I stated about the Same thing on page 8, and someone said “the wheel has spoken”. Who woulda thought? :D

Mario spoke at length about how the message is delivered including giving the player a written evaluation, having the player sign it and a copy sent to the player’s parents. All very professional. The insider is making stuff up

4skers89; appreciate the details. I would join that board just to put this insider in his place, but not worth my time. The thread title is Gebbia is transferring. In the Husker rivals board, should you want to read where he is providing his insider information. Kills me, people who catfish the gullible. Insider info ~ ROFLMAO, +1 for the details!

Maybe I shouldn’t have used that board name on here, feel free to delete the name if this is the case Mods!

Frost said the QBs knew on Saturday and Gebbia took it well at first. If the person isn’t totally full of crap maybe Gebbia’s upset they didn’t tell the team. Mike Williams found out on Twitter. But for the team I don’t see why it should be announced anymore than any other position especially if you claim it’s a team game.

I don’t know Moiraine, I guess that makes as much sense as anything, and I agree exactly on your second point! +1

lot's of husker fans take the attitude that once a husker always a husker...unless we find a reason to hate you.

I guess I must be outside looking in. Like I mentioned yesterday and here again today, no issue with him making his decision, but to do so without  going to the coaches, is where I thought he failed. Now it is being floated out there, that HCSF did not follow up with TG, thus; that is the reason he has departed.

I swear, it just seems to me that poeple gravitate towards negativity more and more everyday. Not happy unless their mad!

    Sick of it!

I'm convinced our fan base looks for ways to be mad and/or discredit our coach, whoever that coach may be.  Good thing SF knew what he was getting into.  I for one am happy that AM won and think the future looks bright!  As far as I'm concerned, everything is going amazing and the season begins with a beat down of Akron in 4 days.

    FIFY, but

    Why?

  6. OK, let me share something that I just read at a rivals board.

The word from “some insider” ~ HuskerDana, snicker snicker, is = TG did not leave because he did not get the nod to start, but because how it was handled (It = maybe the announcement?). Anyone else who is connected to the program hear this? They refer to HCSF, as saying he would let the QB’s know, when it was decided. Which, Now they are linking HCSF’s comment today, that he would have handled it differently, as an admission of him not doing something.

Man, I can’t wait for the games to begin!

  7. It’s time we refocus our energy, on those who will have a direct impact on our upcoming game/season.

Enough has been displayed about TG.

    Accept it, it’s done!

    Husker Power!

    GBR!

If the reports of him being released from his scholarship are true, he's already talked to the coaches. Have to wait & see for confirmation on that.

As it has been relayed within this thread, sure did not appear as if he had, but then again, I do not believe I have seen where that question has been specifically asked to any of our staff. “Did he communicate with anyone on coaching staff, prior to not showing to practice”.

I stand by what I mentioned in prior post. I am not happy he is leaving, think it is a hasty decison, but he has every right to do what he feels is in his best interest.

Just do it as it should be done!

Maybe, he did, and if so, I appolgize for my assumptions. If you’re a leader, or want to be a leader, then act and follow through as a leader should!

So, about Gebbia's decision. If this has been brought up earlier in this thread, my apologies. I'm not checking back through four pages, three of which are probably griping, to find this.

Gebbia has to go immediately if he's going to go at all. He has to find a school, transfer, enroll, move, and get his stuff to his new home within days, maybe hours. If he gets transferred quickly enough, this becomes his penalty year. He sits out this year, then has a shot to play next year.

If he waits a week, even a few days, he may have to sit out this year AND next year.  Dumb move on his part. This is the only decision he can legitimately make.

No issue with anything you said above, just would insert (Show up to practice, talk to the coaches about your decision), then do what you need to do!

  10. Not happy about this.

Think he has made a hasty decision!

    Wish him well.

    Very poorly handled.

Wanted to be the leader of our team, shows by his deeds here, that he was not ready to be looked upon, as such.

I do not blame the young man for making a decision, that he thinks will better his situation.

YET, I do have a problem with the way he has handled it, or should I say, didn’t handle it.

TG, best to you, but you need to grow a pair, as I doubt HCSF or any of our coaching staff, treated you that way.

So many conclusion will be falsely made this week based on 25 minutes of media availability... humorous.  The media is just really hungry for news because they know we are all clicking everything they put out there right now.  Take it all with a grain of salt and wait for official words from the coaching staff in a about 10 days.

    +1

Yep, and as usual, the typical or normal fans will hang on every word someone on the staff or even the press make, and take those or that comment, meaning, something totally different than it was meant to be.

  12. Don’t care if Urban goes or stays, have compassion for the true victim in this event, and was reading some of the OSU boards, where there is talk of her calling police constantly. There are accusations that the gal has had an alchohol issue, the local police were aware of this, and some suggest that this will be brought up soon, where they will try to discredit her facts to MM, as she was calling in complaints left and right. I have no clue, and do not care to spend the time looking for data to support, or discredit the claims.

I am of the opinion, that the B1G is better off with Urban in it, for the sake of competition, “if he has no culpability” in this soap opera, but you wonder if he wouldn’t just rather walk away, than to have this hanging over his head and the Ohio State University for the next year. No matter the legal outcome, there will be innuendos, and distractions for a long time, and I thought at one time, he had trouble with stress.

Isn’t that how it works now a days = discredit the victim, popular opinion carries, and life goes on? I do not believe anyone will think she made up the story about being abused (Images), but some will question the motivation behind her interview, at this time and place. If Urban covered up his knowledge of this, where he is skirting responsibility that the NCAA Regs states he is obligated to enforce, then he has no one to blame but himself.

MLB1 There are many of Ohio State fans, who are just waiting to see what the investigation shows, before they determine their support. Many have stated on their boards, that if he is covering this up, he needs to go!

Then they also say, he has only won 1 National title, since he has been there, so there is that too! LOL

Maybe I am wrong and Jordy sees that Heinman will get more minutes than him.

Brady H is not ready for this level of play. He has height, but would get owned by 5’s in the B10. He at times can get his outside shot flowing, and that is good, but jut not ready IMO.

It's already been said once, but lets keep this civil ya'll. Mass namecalling & labeling of groups is not cool.

My Bad Saunders; I grouped (not intentially) Knapp and Mav as being part of the Obese group on page two. While I have no personal knowledge of this fact (belong or not in the group), it was mentioned they were heavyweights by another poster, who I choose not to  incriminate, (which I took literal) as fact. :P

Watching Mavric and Knapp go back and forth is highly interesting.

Two Huskerboard heavyweights just throwing shot after shot.

That being said, I am all for equality. I think making anyone who is different feel less welcome is wrong.

However, from what I have seen from Ron, I dont think it should be a problem. While he might disagree with your sexual orientation, he doesnt strike me as the type of guy that would be disrespectful to your face... however, that doesnt change the fact he might go to a town hall meeting and actively try to get your rights to things like marriage taken away. Thats where the argument for his relationship with Abdullah loses some merit because he wasnt actively trying to stop rights of Muslims.

Ron has done plenty of good that I am not worried about this hire.

I recognize that this thread touches on accepting people for what they are (diversity), but I draw a line in the sand when people like you start making fun of Obese people. Knapp and Maverick have feelings, just like the rest of us. Please refrain from insensitive postings. jk, carry on! By the way, I have a few extra pounds I could shed myself.

  17. I like the hire, recognize there are those who see the need to point out his comments about ‘the Bible says’. Even with all his accolades, he is not protected from public opinion. Not sure if he was using the university as a platform, but he probably did not think it  through.  I guess what bothers me most, is the fact that this is the first thing some people are thinking about, rather than the positives. It’s like there always has to be that guy, who pisses on the campfire. This twitter or should I say tweet from Josh P, almost begs of him needing attention, or listeners to react. I don’t know, SF is the man in charge, lets see where it goes from here.
