First step of telling the NCAA to screw themselves.
Good riddance. They are inconsistent with punishments and take so long they are almost useless.

I really feel like I'm alone in thinking that Trump has a really good chance. I have a hard time understanding why.
It's strange because on the one hand I see articles with Dem strategists saying Biden better take this seriously because he is in trouble and then a flurry of polls saying he is doing great. Who knows.

Also, the AAU status for FSU doesn’t mean squat
It means a lot to the presidents. BUT, football money will override it...or Notre Dame. I heard Miami has good academic credibility like ND. Although I somehow find the hard to believe.

Yeah. As much as I dislike it, I’ve got to remember America is definitely to the right of me on immigration things. Most people would definitely support a “shutdown” even if it was largely symbolic in nature or presidential overreach without authority to really do anything of consequence. The uber text post above basically laid out that Trump tried something similar before there’s just no teeth to it after he lost in court repeatedly. Biden is the definition of an institutionalist so he doesn’t want to overreach in a way Trump wouldn’t give two s#!ts about.
Still would be applauded by most voters.
Well the Dems had control of Congress and the Exec branch for 2 years. The only thing I remember Biden doing was appointing Kamala Border Czar. Maybe what they wanted would not have gotten past Manchin, but perception is they own the mess. There was some policy called Remain in Mexico. Seems like when that expired it all started breaking loose.
My family and I invest our own time and money helping refugee families settle here. 3 so far from Karin Nation, Afghanistan (post withdrawal fiasco) and now Central Africa. I would not call myself anti immigration. I am anti chaos however.

Now if they can keep Minter (DC) and Herbert (SC), all is well.
And Herbert is going to San Dieago too. Oh well.

Not sure if this is worth anything, but this article popped up on the news feed. TAMU unlikely. Big10 looking at NC and Virginia. Something tells me they have no idea.

The Speaker is calling on Biden to do something which Trump already tried and was legally determined unlawful by the courts. There is a loophole that is allowing immigrants to LEGALLY claim asylum due to the way the current laws are written. If we don't like it we need to write new laws addressing the matter. Which is solely the job of Congress.
Biden can close the border unilaterally just like he can legally authorize use of military force anywhere he wants. He's rightly trying to push Congress to do their damn jobs, just like they've failed to do in both areas for decades.
Great. Close it for 30 days and tell congress to close the loophole. That would look good and put the spotlight back on the congress. It would also help with the criticism. Pull the trigger man.

That took way more effort than I am willing to spend reading the board, but perception tends to win in politics.

Now Biden is willing to shut it down?
I am not sure I believe it can be shut down. Maybe that means we send everyone back. Seems like a President could shut down the border on their own if it's an emergency. At least he finally realizes Trump is going to pummel him on this if he doesn't do something.

Smart of Harbaugh to take him. Minter and McDonald flipped that program. Moore should go beg brother John for another Ravens future DC.

They asked Biden to get them more funds. Guess who has to approve those funds?
The NY mayor was talking about a state of emergency because of being overwhelmed. Maybe that is strictly a money play, but it's a bad look politically especially when kids get to go back to the disaster called remote learning in order to use schools to house immigrants. Democrats better hope this settles down or we will get 'build a wall' Trump 2.0. And yes the Republicans no longer have any motivation to help fix this for the next 9 months because it's the Democrats that own it in the eyes of the public. Maybe a few executive orders could help.

A lot of politics right now is who is best at tricking you into having a certain impression. The Republicans are really good at it.
And yet the Democrat mayors of NY, Chicago, Denver and others are all crying for the Biden admin to do something.

texas has assumed responsibility for the border crisis. it is either over or it is now Texas fault.
Yeah whatever. My impression is the admin doesn't care about what is going on for who knows what reason. I find it ironic that Trump got elected on building a wall and the administration is helping make it a 2024 issue with perceived indifference.

now that Texas and all the red states have sent their national guard to texas and with all the razor wire....the border crisis is now over....right?
Nope. Now we will have the feds and locals fighting each other.
Just out of curiosity why can't the states put up barriers that are not at points of entry? I didn't read any rulings. I can total see why the states cannot block legal points of entry.

I don’t share in all this Harbaugh love. Only thing I’ll miss about him being in the B1G is the chance to beat him.
I think the NCAA and Big10 Conf are with you. only they are happy to see him go.

If Michigan hires Sherone Moore, is he on 3rd base with Day?
I would rather have Harbaugh coaching in Michigan. I think it is better for the sport.
The NCAA disagrees. I think Moore was a big part of improving Michigan's OL. He needs a DC though, and now an OC. Not sure if he will be successful. It should help recruiting to not have Harbaugh flirting with the NFL every year. Michigan is also not keeping up with OSU and Oregon's NIL money.

It's not about the contract. You know very well about college football contracts and payouts.
I think that when you climb Mount Everest (NCAA), looking back at how long it took, but you made it, you feel a sense of elation..........So your next challenge (NFL) that is calling, is to climb Mount K2 or Nanga Parbat. A slightly different mountain and one you climbed before.....but Without the NCAA on your back and recruiting High Schoolers that show college potential.
Got it. And agree. He wants another shot at a super bowl for sure. I posted that to Maveric. I think only 4 coaches have won an NCAA championship and a Super Bowl.

And just like Jimmy H, he was more interested about the Spaghetti Carbonara with garlic bread. The Red flags were there.
What is the Chargers contract? I heard 18M a year. I mean, would you turn down another shot at Lombardi? When is a better time to launch back in?
Although he has to go to the cesspool that is LA. Would have been nicer if they were still in SD.
