Patriots look for value. Hence the Blount dismissal and Burkhead hiring. Cotton can block, catch, FG team, punt team, practice, and keep his nose clean...he could have a decent 3-4 yr pro career if he fills those spots.
And keep alive the Husker in Super Bowl streak
Vincent Valentine and Burkhead as you mentioned are there regardless

Tyjon Lindsey coming to the game?
-
LOL..I happened to overhear some things while I was in Lincoln today that made me pause, then there is his new tweets today.
What do you mean?Call me crazy...but I think this story isn't over yet..
?

Just retweeted something pro-Washington State.
Strange, strange recruiting story.
-
N, glad they worked things out.
-
On 1620 S&B along with Schaefer were talking about Blades as if he's committed. He could flip at the 11th hour but it sure seems he's N as of now.
-
Didn't Mike Schaefer or someone like that interview him and almost let it slip that he's committed and quickly took down a tweet last weekend or so?
I think word is out that he's N and he wants to make it public on NSD

Wazzu seems to have come out of no where, correct?
Don't remember any chatter about them until now.
-
Probably got Alston's scholly.
-
Has officially decided not to build a dam.
Not doing any interviews about it.

Quit over reacting everyone... We will keep recruiting him and might not get him but it's not because of a tweet.

He never said anything about not visiting.
Salesian was the team that kind of got into it with Callabassas on the field this year as well right? Might just be some players looking for a reason to bash Nebraska with all of those connections.
Hopefully he listens to some of the in home visits and takes the time to make a good decision.
-
It seems obvious that we are now in a better place with Bookie, who now plays with former Callabassas WR Hightower at IMG. I wonder if an early commitment from Bookie would help out with Hightower. If we happen to miss out on Jody this year then I would think Hightower would be a priority as a big body WR next year.
-
Taking 2 backs makes me wonder if there's a possibility that Wilbon or Adam Taylor are looking to leave?
-
Hope we don't pressure him but I do hope he makes the decision public and help us gain some momentum rather than announce at the last minute.

Related to Lindsey?
I wondered the same... he had sent some Vaughn tweets out but then retweeted Bookie, Tyjon's cousin.
I hope so but these guys were also saying stuff about silent commits and with Calvins situation the actual commitment didn't mean much because he still has quite a bit to figure out what's best for him.
-
Tyjon is an upgrade over Calvin... still need to place a big priority on Lewis and some of our other targets we've been in on in case Lindsey needs a little big of time to rehab his injury.
-
Kind of funny following his commitment to Oregon St his twitter followers are about -500 from yesterday. I don't think Husker twitter nation is pleased haha.
-
Feels like this one isn't over. Even if he doesn't come here, I don't think he ends up a Beaver.
Completely agree ... probably not coming here but don't see him in Corvallis
-
I read something about some academic concerns with qualifying at Nebraska... any truth to that sort of thing? I hate even bringing it up because it attaches sort of a negative stigma.
I'm gusssing it's more than likely an attempt to rationalize a last minute switch?
-
No way we pulled his schollie... something strange happened though very late in the process. That reaction wasn't normal.
-
Remember this kid said he was committing but his recruitment wasn't done. Not sure he will flip to being a Husker but this seemed like a decision made on a whim and I could see him ending up somewhere else on signing day...
-
Seemed EXTREMLY nervous... like he didn't let Keith Williams know ahead of time and almost had his head held down.

Unbelievable

Sam Cotton and Alonzo Moore were signed to the NFL fairly quickly. Something tells me this isn't about talent but rather a concern over injury or the fact he currently isn't healthy.
