Husker Recruit Watch @HuskerRecruit38s
#HuskerNation, join us in welcoming Sandalwood DE, @BDaBoss5050 , to the family. #BSG #GBR see @Rivals profile here: http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Blake-McClain-134339…
Confusing tweet here..."welcoming to the family" makes it sound like he is N....
Not sure if they are jumping the gun or just trying to welcome him for his visit.
Either way, I am pretty confident considering his tweet.

07-11 they were $21 per ticket.

I just don't understand where Penn St is finding the room for all these commits.
lot of them are early enroll. and keep in mind they had a large number of transfers.
And didn't they get some scholarships back?

Is he waiting until signing day to announce his decision?

For anyone who doesn't already know, Colorado has VERY strict laws regarding assault. My younger brother goes to school in Colorado and got into a fight about 18 months ago. It started off as a verbal altercation, until the other kid started pushing my brother and made it physical. My brother responded by one punching the kid in the face and breaking his jaw. My brother was doing nothing more than defending himself (and certainly wasn't trying to break the other kid's jaw) but because he broke it and the kid went to the hospital, the state forced the kid to press charges against my brother. My brother's mistake was throwing the first punch (which sounds like Alex's situation). It wasn't considered self defense for this reason.
Long story short he was facing very serious Felony charges for this. He got 18 months prohbation and 120 hours of community service to get a deferred sentence, which he finally finishes next month. Since he hasn't got into any trouble since then, the whole thing is being wiped off his record when he's completed. My point is, it sounds like Alex is in a very similar situation as what happened to my brother and IMO, my brother didn't really do anything wrong. I probably would have done the exact same thing in his situation. Colorado acted like he's a serial killer or somethin though. Alex is probably a good kid and is getting the long, hard d of Colorado law to put some perspective on the situation.
I had missed this insight until it got bumped. That is good to know.

Looks like the Huskers have a new QB target in Jaquez Parks. Mike Schaefer has an article about it on 24/7, but it looks like it is behind a pay wall.

Boom!

I wear a "N" on my clothes because I am proud to have gone to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and proud of the student athletes that represented me while I was there and currently represent my alma mater. Nothing could have happened today that would have changed that. I still bleed scarlet and cream. Go B1G Red!

No mention in the article of what each inherited? Tom inherited a team that won the last 3 Orange bowls and had won 2 out of the last 3 National Champsionships. Bo inherited a team that hadn't made a bowl game 2 out of the last 4 years.
But I will agree, Tom did better in his 6 years than Bo, but jeez, I probably could have with what Dr. Tom inherited.

What about hiring Tressel and strongly encouraging him to hire Frost as OC/associate head coach. Frost would be getting a promotion, get to be he head coach for the first 6 games of the season and the bowl game, and be our next coach-in-waiting.
I know you want Tressel to hire his own guys and don't want to limit him, but the guy would owe us one for hiring him. Just depends on if they would get along.

Thank God none of you head cases are on the team or in any positions of power within the organization.
No duh we won't be going to a bowl game of any significance. Last I checked there is only one of those. The BCS bowls are also nice because of the payout and because some people perceive them as a standard, but really, the national champsionship is the only one that "matters".
I think we know what the team would look like if they had you alls' attitude: Georgia, Florida, Northwester, etc. Good teams that just stop caring. That has never happened for one of Bo's teams. These guys will keep playing hard despite what you Negative Nancys think about them.
As to the original post, I gotta think we are going to BWW Bowl where we beat up on one of our old pals from the Big XII.

Looks like a good offer.

Oh and the watch site is upstairs.

As far as I know they are still having it. I went a bunch the last few years, but only watched the Southern Miss game there this year. It is a good time with GREAT draft specials. The website for the fan club is here: http://baltimorehuskerclub.com/

Alcohol, marijuana, paraphernalia, and a fight..... Do any, or all of these even combined, necessarily add up to being kicked off the team permanently? I would hope that our football players were above this behavior and smarter than that but I guess I'm missing the critical element that shouts "yeah, somebody's gone". I realize the players get scrutinized more and are held to a higher standard but, so far, it sounds like a typical Friday night from my college days.
Well, having pot or drug paraphernalia is a crime, fighting can be a crime, and underage drinking is a crime, so I would say yes, these definitely can lead to being kicked off the team permanently.
So are speeding and not wearing a seatbelt
Those are two totally different sets of crimes, and if the whole incident with Ndamukong Suh a few years ago was any sort of indicator, Bo Pelini has much more lax standards on that than the ones that have supposedly been perpetrated recently. Bo has a zero tolerance policy for underage drinking and (I would imagine) any sort of illicit drugs.
Even when Quinten Castille got kicked off the team a few years back by Bo for smoking weed, it was something like Castille's 3rd strike.
This is what I remember.

I like them, and I think players and recruits are going to love them.

Committed. Via Callahan.
Sean Callahan @Sean_Callahan4m
I just confirmed with the father of Gretna lineman Mick Stoltenberg that his son committed to Bo Pelini and Nebraska minutes ago. #Huskers

Why are people mad about this (or why are there so many mad gifs)? This will mess with the UCLA players' internal clocks like no other i.e. this is a good thing.
Agreed. It is certainly early and not very fan friendly. However, it is less friendly to UCLA.
so, listening to Sharp and Benning in the morning

This is just wrong. Perlman is an excellent chancellor and has been great for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I would say that even if we had lost every football game since he had been here. We try and talk about what's important for the football team and sportsmanship, graduation rates, and staying out of trouble are always listed. The money the football team makes is a drop in the hat compared to the endowment and the federal research dollars (not to mention the tuition payments) that the university and Perlman deal with and manage.
UNL is a premier land-grand university that just happens to have a football team. I am proud to have attended UNL. I got to see a lot of great football games, but more importantly, I received a world-class education.
