Depending on which flavor of service, I say yes.

Per the 247 Composite, the most we've had is 9 in 2011.

    Class Average Recruits (# 4*+)

     02    .8316    18 (2)
     03    .8316    19 (2)
     04    .8331    20 (2)
     05*   .8589    31 (8)
     06*   .8592    22 (5)
     07*   .8587    26 (6)
     08    .8449    29 (3)
     09    .8580    19 (2)
     10*   .8642    20 (5)
     11    .8832    21 (9)
     12    .8791    17 (8)
     13    .8675    24 (7)
     14    .8495    25 (3)
     15    .8616    21 (4)
     16    .8686    21 (5)
     17    .8781    20 (6)

     18    .8768    24 (6)

     19    .8834    23 (6)

    * 2005 - Leon Jackson isn't on 247's list but was a 4* on Rivals
    * 2006 - Major Culbert doesn't show a rating on 247 but was a high 3* on Rivals
    * 2007 - Armando Murillo (JUCO) not included in 247's list
    * 2010 - Stanley Jean-Baptiste and Chase Harper (JUCOs) not included in 247's rankings

Thanks for looking it up Mav. The 2011 class was the one I thought might have a chance.

We are at 6 now- mauga does not have a composite yet he could end up 4 star which would be 7. I think Johnson, Fleming and Francois are real good chances so that would be 10. Then I think we in on a few other guys. I could see 10-12 if things go our way

green and slusher were other 2 I was thinking

I thought of the same people along with the possibility of Brown.

    - Hate to say this... These recruits want to be around good looking girls and maybe the players don't think NU has it compared to these other schools.

If I'm straight out of High School I know where my mind goes when I think of leaving home for the first time.

IMO if a recruit’s main priority is to be around attractive girls then they aren’t gonna be anywhere near my first choice. Football and making the NFL should be the main focus. But that’s just my honest opinion.

I have to just say...it's really frustrating watching our OLB's do stuff like this when we play in a 3-4. It just compounds your vulnerabilities that exist already in a three man front. If I've said it once on this forum I've probably said it 20 times...I just don't like playing in a 3-4 in the Big 10. But, I know it can look much better when you've potentially got guys like Ty Robinson & Nick Henrich out there.

I will say I’ve noticed that it does seem like we play a multiple defense. I see a LOT of 3-3-5 or 4-2-5 but it always starts out looking like a plain 3-4. I think what hurts us a ton is not having above average athleticism or playmaking from the hybrid DE/OLB role. Alex Davis just doesn’t cut it and it doesn’t seem like Tannor is getting much play time. But to address the bold, I 100% agree I’d way rather play an aggressive 4-3 which can switch to a 4-2-5 against a spread offense than a 3-4.

Chinander also adjusted how NU defended NW's zone read game in the 3rd and 4th quarter.  NW had success with it in the first drive of the 3rd quarter, but did very little after that.

I definitely agree. That had a huge impact on the rest of the game IMO. It seemed like a lot of the time when the zone read worked for them it was because our DE/OLB wasn’t holding contain and was just set on getting to the RB which allowed for an easy read for NW’s QB.

  6. I was happy to see Chinander make some in-game adjustments. The main one I noticed started near the end of the third quarter I think when we started pressing NW’s receivers across the line, stopping the easy slants and crossing routes while forcing their QB to make much more difficult throws. Something small but it gives me hope since we haven’t seen simple adjustments like that in Lincoln for a long time.

Idk, maybe he misspoke? That’s the only other explanation I can think of. Either way it doesn’t make sense as there’s no way to refer to an o-lineman as a speed rusher. Also I do agree that he seems slow and un-athletic. Correct me if I’m wrong but he was brought in as an OG right? That would sort of explain his struggles at OT.

Correction. I went and rewatched the interview and he did say “ I’m a better power blocker than I am a speed rusher” makes a little more sense than saying “and”

Wouldn't he have said "I'm a better power blocker than a speed rusher (blocker)"?   Since he said "and" maybe he is referring to Chase Young as not a speed rusher and more of a juke around you kind of rusher.  IDK, is he any good as a speed rusher blocker?  He seems kind of slow and un-athletic.

I didn't understand the 1st and 10 from our own 9 or 10 and they toss it back to ?, five yards behind the line of scrimmage and he gets stuffed and it was almost a safety.

I think it was Bell, but I could be wrong. Just all around too conservative. And I get it was a walk-on at QB but the way Frost and co. made it sound was the drop off from Martinez wouldn’t be that big.

Clouse is about selling subscriptions. If he can tease husker fans enough to buy a subscription to find out all the "top secret information" on recruits then hes done his job, gets paid, and hopefully gets a good bonus b/c he did so.

What if he does know something though? Do we completely discount everything he says because it's his job to sell subscriptions?
Obviously only speaking for myself, but I don't "completely discount" everything he says but I do take it with a grain of salt. Just a personal opinion, I prefer quality reporting over quantity reporting.
I take his and other recruiting guys opinions into account. But like you said, i tend to take them with a grain of salt. I think we have a chance with Darnay b/c he is still including us. But im not gonna sit here and say we have a 95% chance of landing him or not landing him. We have a chance is all i would be willing to predict.

Hmmm that 95% chance sounds familiar 🤔

I'm gonna go with Calvin and then I'm gonna go with Darnay. Not sure which one commits first during the game, but I think we get both.

Calvin agreed. Why do you think we get Holmes?
Let's just say I have a source I find very reliable and I give us about a 95% chance of getting him.
    Is it Matty?

    Haha no.
