  1. Typically a lurker on the board, but I am getting concerned about our concentration on the defensive side of the ball. I think we really need at least one tackle in each recruiting class, and this year I would like us to take two. So my question is: Who are we most likely to land at offensive tackle in this class, and what are the odds of us landing them?

  2. Walks...you took the words right out of my head...I agree with everything in the OP. After this year, I am not convinced anymore that Pelini can take us to the next level. However, Bo is our guy. I think it may be due to the almighty dollar, but he is the guy. I will root for the team to rise above as we move forward. Anything else is just a waste of energy.

  3. I read in a post on this site that the practices are very unorganized. This supposedly came from a prominent player. If that is the case, this is what I would want to correct next year. I agree that we have some quality players. However, maybe one of the reasons we can't get over the hump with people not executing, and the turnovers is that the coaches are not disciplined and organized themselves. The best way to instill discipline is to make it the expectation in everything you coach AND to demonstrate it yourself.

  4. Just a quick thought. I was looking at Jordan Lynch's stats from NIU. He has over 2400 yards passing (64% completion rate I think), over 1700 yards rushing, and this year he became only the 3rd FBS player ever to have at least 20 rushing and 20 passing TD's in a single season. Finally, his team is undefeated.

Crouch had a fantastic season, but I don't think voters can bring themselves to vote for a running qb in todays football universe

  5. Ameer is quick and hits the hole hard. He is mentally tough and a determined runner. Pretty good hands. He's physical enough. If he just had a little bit better breakaway speed.... But if that was the case, I would over look how tough the dude is and everything else he does so well. And he's modest and humble.

Barry Sanders also did not have break away speed. It is Ameer's vision and his ability to move laterally that make him special. Although no one is Sanders peer with respect to lateral movement, I think Ameer most resembles his style of play

  6. I think he will come back. His values and upbringing would indicate that he gets his degree. However, don't under estimate him in the NFL. Not saying that he is the same, but Barry Sanders didn't have great top end speed either if I remember right. His gift was that he could move just as fast laterally as he could straight ahead. Ameer has a similar talent.

  7. For those of you calling people "anit-bo" what we really are is pro-Nebraska. These debates are the Pro-Bo's vs the Pro-Nebraska's

Yes the pro-Nebraskans that would rather see us lose to Penn. St., Iowa, and whatever bowl game we end up in.

What is best for the long term of the program? If you feel that Pelini is hampering the program from reaching expectations you would see the need to lose to bring in someone else. If you believe Pelini is the answer than you want him to win out. It is all how you view the program and its trajectory. Personally I am of the belief that Pelini and his band of misfit toys need to leave Lincoln. However, when I watch a game I cannot and never will be able to cheer against them. But when we do lose it does not hurt like it used to because it is potentially one step closer to what I feel will make this program better in the future. Is this apathy or something else? Maybe a little of both but all these debates center around the fact that people are divided on who should lead our program. All of us are equal fans of this team

I just read this post and can't believe it.

So you get angry when the "kool aid" is flowing but yet basically it's okay to want your team to lose because its better for us long term.

    You are ridiculous.

I am not one to judge how another feels towards their team. If a fan feels the need to want his team to lose that is that fans choice and we have zero right to judge that fan on his or her "fandom" I do not cheer against NU nor will I ever as I have stated however I am definitely in the shrug my shoulders and not be pissed off like I used to when we lose aka apathy

Hedley, you aren't apathetic. You are passive aggressive. You allude to wanting Bo out, but only do it in a way that you can deny taking a side if challenged. Some would call you a sniper because you lay in the weeds and take shots from cover where no one can fire back at you

  8. Gardner's brain has a right to be out of sorts, given what his offensive line has put him through. I guarantee none of the Husker qb's would have put together a win using their offensive line either. I am not a Gardner fan (I think he is a better receiver than qb) but the blame should go to their offensive line.

I guess this just shows that the number of stars a recruit has doesn't make you automatically a star in college

  9. to me, the best thing about TA taking over is that he is getting valuable experience for next year. Had TM not gotten injured, they would have never taken him out in conference play and TA would have been behind in maturity in 2014.

while he is still making some mistakes, that is normal for most young qb's. I think we are seeing him mature as a player right before our eyes. One example is that he really didn't have a pass sail on him yesterday. His first few games he had several that sailed over wide open receivers. By season's end he is really going to impress us with his execution.
