  1. I am more wondering about te 2014 class. Who are we likely to get?
  2. Typically a lurker on the board, but I am getting concerned about our concentration on the defensive side of the ball. I think we really need at least one tackle in each recruiting class, and this year I would like us to take two. So my question is: Who are we most likely to land at offensive tackle in this class, and what are the odds of us landing them?
  3. nohing against the kid because I am sure he is a very good player, but I think our bigger needs at the moment are OT and CB
  4. I would like one more DE and one more OL. I like Ballage. I think he fits the Alabama-like RB that we should have. I would also like one more TE, but only if it was someone with more height (6'6"). That person is missing from our stable.
  5. really looking forward to Clink playing next year. This should allow us to redshirt Newell and put a few more pounds on him. Man, we are going to go deep at DT next year. can't wait to see our goal line defense with all of those big bodies! Question: will we lose any of the young ones due to this?
  6. Walks...you took the words right out of my head...I agree with everything in the OP. After this year, I am not convinced anymore that Pelini can take us to the next level. However, Bo is our guy. I think it may be due to the almighty dollar, but he is the guy. I will root for the team to rise above as we move forward. Anything else is just a waste of energy.
  7. I read in a post on this site that the practices are very unorganized. This supposedly came from a prominent player. If that is the case, this is what I would want to correct next year. I agree that we have some quality players. However, maybe one of the reasons we can't get over the hump with people not executing, and the turnovers is that the coaches are not disciplined and organized themselves. The best way to instill discipline is to make it the expectation in everything you coach AND to demonstrate it yourself.
  8. the measure of a man is not how he acts when things are going great. It is how they react to adversity. How they overcome obstacles. You have a lot to be proud of.
  9. Just a quick thought. I was looking at Jordan Lynch's stats from NIU. He has over 2400 yards passing (64% completion rate I think), over 1700 yards rushing, and this year he became only the 3rd FBS player ever to have at least 20 rushing and 20 passing TD's in a single season. Finally, his team is undefeated. Crouch had a fantastic season, but I don't think voters can bring themselves to vote for a running qb in todays football universe
  10. Barry Sanders also did not have break away speed. It is Ameer's vision and his ability to move laterally that make him special. Although no one is Sanders peer with respect to lateral movement, I think Ameer most resembles his style of play
  11. all of our best DE's have had one thing in common - unrelenting motor. RG has this trait as well. Just never gives up. I just hope that he doesn't lose his burst when he puts on 10-20 lbs.
  12. I think he will come back. His values and upbringing would indicate that he gets his degree. However, don't under estimate him in the NFL. Not saying that he is the same, but Barry Sanders didn't have great top end speed either if I remember right. His gift was that he could move just as fast laterally as he could straight ahead. Ameer has a similar talent.
  13. Yes the pro-Nebraskans that would rather see us lose to Penn. St., Iowa, and whatever bowl game we end up in. What is best for the long term of the program? If you feel that Pelini is hampering the program from reaching expectations you would see the need to lose to bring in someone else. If you believe Pelini is the answer than you want him to win out. It is all how you view the program and its trajectory. Personally I am of the belief that Pelini and his band of misfit toys need to leave Lincoln. However, when I watch a game I cannot and never will be able to cheer against them. But when we do lose it does not hurt like it used to because it is potentially one step closer to what I feel will make this program better in the future. Is this apathy or something else? Maybe a little of both but all these debates center around the fact that people are divided on who should lead our program. All of us are equal fans of this team I just read this post and can't believe it. So you get angry when the "kool aid" is flowing but yet basically it's okay to want your team to lose because its better for us long term. You are ridiculous. I am not one to judge how another feels towards their team. If a fan feels the need to want his team to lose that is that fans choice and we have zero right to judge that fan on his or her "fandom" I do not cheer against NU nor will I ever as I have stated however I am definitely in the shrug my shoulders and not be pissed off like I used to when we lose aka apathy Hedley, you aren't apathetic. You are passive aggressive. You allude to wanting Bo out, but only do it in a way that you can deny taking a side if challenged. Some would call you a sniper because you lay in the weeds and take shots from cover where no one can fire back at you
  14. my biggest fear is that the offensive line gets gassed in the second half because we don't have enough bodies to rotate in. If that happens - collapse
  15. my biggest hope is that our defense shuts down a mediocre MSU offense. That will keep us in the game, and we all know what this NU team can do at the end of games!
  16. Gardner's brain has a right to be out of sorts, given what his offensive line has put him through. I guarantee none of the Husker qb's would have put together a win using their offensive line either. I am not a Gardner fan (I think he is a better receiver than qb) but the blame should go to their offensive line. I guess this just shows that the number of stars a recruit has doesn't make you automatically a star in college
  17. to me, the best thing about TA taking over is that he is getting valuable experience for next year. Had TM not gotten injured, they would have never taken him out in conference play and TA would have been behind in maturity in 2014. while he is still making some mistakes, that is normal for most young qb's. I think we are seeing him mature as a player right before our eyes. One example is that he really didn't have a pass sail on him yesterday. His first few games he had several that sailed over wide open receivers. By season's end he is really going to impress us with his execution.
  18. Old football adage: When you have 2 QBs, you have 0 QBs. Tell that to Devaney: Tagge/Bronson. Tell that to Osborne: Frazier/Berringer sp. Brownson
  19. Bo better be passing out those blackshirts on Monday!
  20. really liked A-rod at guard today
  21. asked in the game thread....he is the best DE since who?
  22. none of the pundits had us beating Meat Chicken at home! Suck it Press!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. now the defense can pin their ears back and go get Gardner
