That's a legitimate gripe but if it goes to a straight popular vote none of the votes from Nebraska will mean anything either as President will in effect be decided in the large cities and primarily on the east coast. At least with the electoral college the middle of the country gets some say. Sure it doesn't always yield desirable results but without it much of the country becomes fly over land that has no representation and no voice.

Only the swing states get a say. Trump is president because he got 75K+ more votes in the right states. GWB won in 2000 by I think 500+ votes in Florida.

We'll decorate this weekend in our house:D Once Halloween is over it's Christmas season in our house!

When my children were small, my ex and I would do all the decorating the weekend after Thanksgiving. My current wife and I do don't much in terms of decorating. We  put up a christmas tree for my great-grandkids. Last year we bought the star showers thing.

My least favorite part is having to rearrange my living room

  3. I'm a student in the University system right now, so I'm pretty wary of this.

To me, the budget shortfall is largely due to the effects the Ag market is going through right now, but also reflects poorly on Rickett's ability as governor. As if I needed more reason to dislike that guy.

Re: Trump's policies, the US is the world's #1 grower/exporter of corn, and Mexico is the #1 importer of US corn. Nebraska is the third-highest corn producing state, and with Iowa first and the rest of the Midwest rounding out the top 15.

It's going to REALLY hurt the Midwest if NAFTA blows up and our relationship with Mexico worsens. There could be reciprocal tariffs, or they could start growing their own corn. Trump should tread lightly there or we're all going to hurt.

That's what they wanted when they voted Trump.

Obamacare, and healthcare in general definitely needs fixed. I am not aware of Trump's specific plans or if he even has one beyond his "repeal" shtick. But you can't just repeal it without bad consequences. If they figure out a way to make it (insurance and medical care/drugs) affordable and to have it available for everyone, I'm all for it. I will be keeping on eye on this with great interest. Personally, I think allowing purchase across state lines and more competition could be a good thing but I fail to see how that will sufficiently address the costs issue or even how an out of state insurer is going to be able to function in all locations. I have serious doubts this issue will get made acceptably better.

I agree JJ, this is a huge undertaking and needs to be fixed.

I saw that AZ was increasing the cost up 115%. That is not a typo all, 115%.

I do not want to emulate Europe but some where rationally would be good.

I believe there is a county in AZ that doesn't have any obamacare insurers.
