What irks me the most is the careless attitude of our coach versus the fire in the eyes of coach Fitz. We have a pathetic loser leading us. If Moos has any stones, he would fire this miserable gum chewing loser before midnight.

Riley definitely embraces the underdog roll based on how his teams play. That's why I never understood the hire. The guy is a career underdog and was hired to win championship? Makes no sense

  2. When your offense is based on a physical run game you get the Wisconsin/ old nebraska linemen but when your a "balanced" or passing attack your linemen will look more like Nebraskas linemen now because they need to be quicker to pass block apparently. I've though about the topic of this post the last 2 years. Results don't lie gates looks like a hippy Pillsbury doughboy. He should be jacked

The 4 INT's aren't a total indictment on the QB, but they are an indictment on Langsdorf's (and Riley's) offense.  In 2015, we were told that the mistakes were due to Armstrong's poor passing and decision making.  Now, that Riley and Langsdorf have a QB more of their style, the offense is still making mistakes.

I agree 100%. You basically need a NFL QB to run their system how they want it but the problem is how many NFL QBs are out there every year? Even at Oregon State Riley had only 2-3 QBs that we're good enough to run it very well and they still lost at least 4 games those years. At best in Riley's system you will get a 2 year starter because it takes 2-3 before you can even run it effectively. These kids only have 5 years max and 2-3 shouldn't be used to learn a system.

  4.

I know he's older, but Lee just appears to be so much bigger than O'Brien.

    Tanner Lee = 6'4" 205 lbs

    POB = 6'4" 230 lbs

    Per roster of Huskermax.com.

I saw POB on campus and there's no way he is 6'4. I'd say he is 6'1 at best. There's no way he is any taller than Armstrong. He is for sure 230 tho

  5. I think we are trending in the right direction. We are in a better spot today than we with what Bo left the program. I think our recruiting has been slightly better - I can't recall Bo bringing in a big time offensive threat like Tyjon who actually made it to campus.

I do agree and wish some of the recent staff changes had been made earlier and think that some of the initial staff hires held us back. Is Nebraska where I wanted them to be after 2 years of Riley? No. But i think we are definitely trending up.

Really? Didn't Bo bring in Aaron green, braylon heard, Ameer Abdullah all in the same class? Green was a top running back recruit so was heard. Not to mention all the 4 star linemen on the roster now are Bo's guys. I'm pretty sure Bo brought in the lines of Lavonte David and Randy gregory talent that Riley has never brought in. I wouldn't say we are in a better spot now then when Bo left. The staff turnover doesn't show it and the play and record on the field doesn't show that either. Name me 5 recievers that have ever single handedly won their team any type of championship? You find mind many because top running backs are way more valuable to a team than a top reciever. Ask Penn St. Hackenberg couldn't do crap and they had great recievers on that team. Franklin is hires they get a good RB and a dual threat QB and they win the big 10. If your offense line can't run block effectively which is the easiest type of blocking how do you see a offensive line being more effective in pass blocking? We aren't in a better spot then whe. Bo left. If we were then most of our D line wouldn't of left after Bo did

  6. Seems like riley is getting desperate and is trying to hire anyone with former husker ties just to make good publicity since he doesn't have much else going on for him as far as the rest of the staff goes. All "his guys" seems to be flaming out and as not as high quality of coach as we were told. Anyone that did their research would of known that though.

  7.

We will consistently run more than we pass. Not by much at times, but this offense will be slightly leaning on the run more than pass

    Disagree

Disagree as well if we base it off of what they did at Oregon State.

Agreed. There is nothing that I see that shows this team is going to run more. If anything you will see passing 65℅ of the time. Especially considering since Riley has been here our running game has been non existent

  8. Why should Husker 'fans' listen? They can't coach or recruit players from up in the stands or from their arm chairs. The only thing I'm 'hearing' from that article is that Dabo and co develop their players and we don't but that's not new news.

    It's officially the off season...

100℅ agree. The fans make 0 decisions when it comes to this stuff it's all on the administration and thr staff it hired. I don't see a 63 year old coach changing much if anything at all

  9. I wouldn't say polar opposites because at the end result is still the same. Finished both seasons unranked with alot of questions on both sides of the ball. Plus 2 season in a row where you fired a staff member. The record may look different but the product on the field was no different.

  10.

This administration has brought in the last three coaching staffs starting with firing FS. These academic clowns know nothing about athletics. I would guess that they get tired of athletics and the popularity the sports enjoy. Is it correct to say Nebraska Football has not been the same sense this hire. Why give this staff time to destroy the program. The manner by which this staff has lost games is mind blowing. Why would any 4-5 star athletes want to come to Nebraska and have this staff coach them down. Middle school coaches don't make the stupid mistakes these coaches are. How can you not listen to TO and other former coaches when you hire a head football coach. I have no trust this staff or administration can right the ship.[/quot

This guy hit the nail on the head. Pearlman and Eichorst don't care and have no knowledge of athletics. Their only goal is to make as much money as possibly they could give two $ts if we are winning or losing as long as the money keeps rolling in which it always will. If we want to win on the field as need to fire the administration and hire people in those positions with knowledge of athletics and wants to put winning teams out there. Any idiot could tell you that If you win on the field the money will come rolling in (except pearlman and Eichorst). Fire those two clowns and replace them with the right people and we will be relevant again.

  11. Husker fans proclaimed themselves as the best fans in college football. No one else did. The athletic department just ran with it to make the fans feel good about themselves so they would keep coming to watch this crap show of a program right now. Husker fans USE to be the best fans but not anymore. The best fans in college football wouldn't of started to leave the game on Saturday after Wisconsin missed that field goal. Husker fans are the most loyal that's all.

  12. It's clear why tim beck still doesn't have another job and Barney cotton does as an O coordinator. Not saying that Barney is the best but you can bet your bottom dollar he would of ran it twice with ameer to pick up 3 yards instead of that crap beck called. Why is beck so obsessed with shotgun especially inside the 10? Its clear he never had any confidence in the O line all year. I wouldn't either I guess with 2 star jake cotton as your starter at left tackle

  13. Once school was out the students had til the 12th to remove their bikes before it's becomes UNL property. Husker fans are so idiotic to think these guys own 7 bikes? If they were theirs how come they didn't have keys for any locks? Let's use our brains people, this is clearly a case of two students stealing bikes off campus to mAke a quick buck nothing else. If it was THEIR bikes they could of easily asked UNL police to cut their bike off the rack but they didn't. I don't know who is dumber, banderas or half the people who comment on this board

  14. I could see cross leaving, every other year we usually have a HB transfer out. We are 5-6 deep at HB and we only really use one back ever and with ameer probably returning I'm sure he will get 98% percent of the carries. That's one thing that's always pissed me off about this staff is how we manage our running backs. Not to mention Lorenzo Stewart coming in next year. If I was cross and newby I would leave if I ever wanted to actually get some carries

  15. I'm not against skipping the alternate stuff entirely, but if we do it for one game again, I think we need to stand out. Do something entirely different with the helmet and uniform as opposed to just modifying it a little and splashing in some black.

That helmet is awesome! I'd agree with you on that, but doesn't Adidas decide what our uniforms looks like? That's our alternatives usually look like Wisconsins or any other Adidas teams
