This guy would kill it at NU and would probably be happy to take the job.  IMHO

"After his opening three years in the Pac-12 in which the program went 18-19 overall and 9-18 in conference play, the Utes have been one of the best teams in the Pac-12. They've won nine games and finished better than .500 in conference play in six of the past seven seasons."

So, he walked in to a good situation by taking over a team established by Urban Myer, jumped from a Jr conference to a power 5 and sucked or was painfully mediocre for a few years, the program stuck with him, he figured it out and now he's one of the best coaches in the country?  Pretty much sounds like the exact situation we find ourselves in now, less knowing what the future will hold and having bare cupboards at the outset, not to mention a COVID year.

IDK, when you actually look at it, it's not really that impressive.

I think Scott needs to handover play calling for the rest of the season and focus on coaching up the player groups that needs it.

I have never seen Scott coaching players up on the sidelines that I can ever think of. He just stands there with his arms folded with no expression on his face.

  3. Bo Pelini (9 wins a year was nice)

    Bob stoops

Neither of the above will happen so we will end up with some Bum or a coordinator that is making the jump up to head coach.

Let's all just hope Scott gets his s#!t together because the alternatives ain't good. Trev says he wants to see incremental improvements and the bar is pretty low. I am guessing Scott stays this year and next.

I get the hate for the play, but assuming we're throwing it to the right guys I actually hope to see several.

any play is a home run if the right reciever is hit, the right hole is run through with the correct blocking or the correct play executed against a vulnerable defense. These flare passes are essentially long hand offs for us and never seem to amount to much....pretty much a wasted play.

I don't care what plays we run if they are getting decent yardage and this ain't 1 of them for us.

I've seen a number of highlights from Taylor Martinez in the last week.  It's amazing how fast he was.  If he got in the open, he was gone and nobody was catching him.

That guy got up to top speed in like 2 strides. I was at the ksu game in Manhattan in 2010 when he ran wild for 200 and some odd yards and scored 4 TDs. It was quite the show. Most fun I ever had at an away game.

I had an old man come up to me at my local Hyvee the other day spewing off rumors about Frost and his wife and how the program was in trouble.

I have heard this on several occasions lately from sperate parties that are more in the know if the program. I'm no insider, but this seems like a bigger issues for the team/Scotts future than the BS analysts thing. Could be bad news if true.

Ryan Day, in his interview, if you listened to it one can easily see the short comings of frost's current scheme.

Coming from a guy with a team where 5 star players back up 5 star players. Most Any "scheme" would be successful or another teams "scheme" able to be defeated where you got a team made up of future NFL players going up against walk ons from ball scratch Nebraska.

I still hate that Solich started him against Texas in 1998.  Christo’s poor play in the first half enabled Texas to hang around and end up snapping NU’s 47-game home winning streak. I’m still mad about that game.

    Impressive

Good opinion piece on the hiring of Trev as AD

    https://www.si.com/college/nebraska/football/husker-dan-alberts-a-home-run-hire

"Back in the mid-90s when my daughter was going to college at Iowa State, I secretly had someone in mind who I wanted her to marry. I thought the man would be a perfect fit for her. The man had great integrity, honesty, character and intelligence. He was someone who had a great work ethic. He was a man of faith and was loved and respected by the man himself, Tom Osborne. And as an extra bonus, the guy was good looking. The man was the perfect package.

So, who was this "perfect" man, you ask?

    Trev Alberts."

sounds like quite the man crush

i think Frost brining his whole staff hurt him in the eyes of Green, maybe Moos too.

oh to be a mouse in the corner.

Yes, the ability to get a entire staff, many of whom from an undefeated team in place on short notice while agreeing to coach his former team in a high level bowl game whilst recruiting for Nebraska and transitioning to a new team leaves a real bad taste in the mouth. Very poor character move

  11. I dont know what the numbers say, but we don't really commit to run the ball with our backs and seem content to run the QB even when we are having success on the ground. Seems like Scott starts calling the cuitsy tootsy flare pass bull $h!t and just can't help himself. Maybe it's analytics, personal, scheme, idk. Common sense would tell you if something is working, keep doing it until the other team stops it.

1 such instance that comes to mind is a game vs Wisconsin in Lincoln (2019 I think) and mills is just running ruff shot all over...dude had the game of his career with us if I remember correctly. We are trying to get back into the game or even take the lead perhaps (I can't remember the exact situation) and we get deep in the red area and what does Scott do? Pull mills, insert mazour and get cute with play calling and get turn over on downs. Moral of the story is, either you commit to run or you don't.

1 guy I'm looking forward to seeing on the roster at RB is Yant. Guy seems like a bull dozer. If we can open up some holes for him, that dude is gonna be a problem for the defense.
