Friday before they game you should definitely hit up Misty's in Havelock. The food is great and you will find a slightly older crowd, and if you want a place for friendly football banter this would be it. Also, the band will come through the place at (I might have times slightly wrong) 6:00pm and 8:00pm. Get there early if you want a table they will be hard to come by. Enjoy your time in Lincoln!

I thought he was trying to get POB injured so the next coach is limited at QB thus making a dramatic turn-around less likely

Doesn't this thread pop up every Veteran's Day?

It would be awesome if we could get the NU-OU game back on thanksgiving day.

That spielman hit was a boy vs man situation. Then you got Nick Gates with his muffin top and noodle arms running over to tell him he's sorry

When do we actually hit rock bottom. First it was NIU, then it was OHST, now we're saying it's purdue. I mean I feel like we're still descending to the ground floor. Just not sure we're there yet.

I want to see what the backup assistant strength training guidance counselor can do as head coach. Mid season firing? All about it

This article really tells a lot about the mentality of both coaches and the recruits that make up the sum of what we see on the field. Apparently the players really "couldn't be happier" and love being coached by Riley and co. Just shows that Dinadardo's assessment of Riley's practice being soft in 2015 fall camp and then the whole bloodbath comment are probably accurate. Then there's the below comment. I love the Midwest and it's hard working blue collar people. If you think there's no difference in people based on where they are raised geographically you're dead wrong. I grew up moving all over the country and there's absolutely differences. People in the Midwest are (on average) just tougher than people on the coasts. This team relied on that toughness for years (as Wisconsin now does). Who cares if the Calibraska thing goes away? We'll still snag a few players from the state on an annual basis but trying to build a Midwestern USC was doomed to fail from the beginning.
“That’s why, if you really think about California and Nebraska — those are two opposite walks of life. So in order for us to even be willing to consider that and of doing that, there had to be a person that we trust with our kids. That’s Donte. That’s coach Riley."

Lack of mental toughness. I swear it seems like when it's cold we don't play well. It's almost like comfort based decisions are being made in our preparation for these games (for example using the indoor practice facility vice going outside).
I don't think enough emphasis is being placed on mentally preparing for games.

I'd much rather travel to Texas to watch a November game than I would up to the Northeast.

I want to go back to the Big 12, and I don't even care if it ever cycles back to the top.

Why are people so set on Tanner Lee? His stats at Tulane really aren't that promising.
2014: 55% passing 12TD/14INT
2015: 51% passing 11TD/7 INT
No thanks. Let's get POB in there and build for the future
Lee deserves for his time here to be judged on it's own merit aside from Tulane. Sometimes quarterbacks, and players in general, just need a change of scenery, sometimes they find the right coach/scheme to mesh with, sometimes they just get better.
Russell Wilson did not set the world on fire in his three years at North Carolina State. His quarterback rating jumped almost 60 points in his senior year at Wisconsin, with his completion % jumping from 57.8% to 72.8%.
Hell, two former mediocre Purdue quarterbacks are now starting at SEC schools.
We've seen more than a handful of players, especially quarterbacks, take a big step up in ability after transferring to at least give Lee the benefit of the doubt until he proves otherwise.
Good points. And thanks, I didn't read all the way back.

I honestly just need to see a LOS on both sides that look good and a quarterback that can manage the game. I feel like we can compete in the west with that alone. Our skill positions are already better than most west teams.

What's up with Barnett? Nobody talks about that guy but he's our highest rated recruit on the O-Line. Is there some sort of academic issue there?

People just saw how dark it can get last year, now we're supposed to be like "oh man just be happy with 9 wins don't even talk about firing another 9-3 coach"

Today looked like some Miami 2015 shite without the come back

Do we all at least agree that Bruce Reed is terrible?

2 embarrassing losses will make the season feel pretty yucky. Hard to ignore those. Especially when the bulk of 9 wins came from Illinois type opponents

I don't see any 13-0 power 5 team getting left out of the playoff. The question should be
...would a 12-1 conf champion Nebraska get in?
