I'd echo this.  That being said, I'd said be surprised if he went early.  His measurables are going to need to be absolutely off the charts because the scouts are going to use his height against him.  Other slot dudes from last year like Coutee from TT that went in the 4th round to Houston are at least 5'11.

If he left early a fair comp would be someone like Ray Ray McCloud who left early from Clemson.  He went in the 6th to Buffalo.

Alright let’s get back to Benhart.

PS. JD’s Dad is an NFL GM... he won’t screw this decision up.

Pretty sure hes a true sophomore so he cant leave. Hasnt been in college for 3 years yet.

Nevermind hes a RSo. So he can leave after this season. Damn!

    A) I doubt he goes

    B) Yes, we’d miss him for sure, but in actuality it would probably benefit us more in the long run to have someone like that to sell in the pro’s.

UCF fans said this as well as UCF media when Frost took the job.

    Said what?

That Frost won’t recruit like UCF?

Because Nebraska has out ranked UCF in recruiting for as long as I can tell...

I remember some media questioning whether he could get the speed he needs... but that’s not the same thing as the original quote in this thread.

It's been said many times that we can't recruit the kids we need in Nebraska because we're not surrounded by speed like Frost was in Florida. Granted, most of it's said by dumb UCF fans, but it has been said.

    That’s a pretty broad statementZ

I have heard it being said nationally.  I  remember when Frost was a candidate for multiple positions last year a lot of pundits said that it would be harder for him to run his system at Nebraska bc of lack of regional athletes.

Lot of my buddies who are CFB fans of other teams questioned whether or not his system would work in the B1G and if he could get the caliber of athlete he was getting down in Fla.

I dont think many on here thought we couldnt get the speed needed to run his offense.

But that’s not the same statement, you realize or no?

have you never ever read reddit and the national perception that frosts offense will not work here because we cant recruit speed lmao? are you living under a rock?

    You said...

”Nebraska can’t recruit at the level of UCF.”

Im assuming you’re acting like people say that a lot around here and recruiting forums, whereas I’ve ever heard that once.

I know you're being sarcastic, but if you follow closely enough, you learn that this is true. There are some people that routinely seem to have credible insights.

    Yup.

Definitely at least 4 people who post regularly on HB with very credible inside sources.

    Hint, Hint: I’m not one.

It might be "seeing it as impossible" (on winning in Columbus against OSU).

But it is also acknowledging that right now many people, myself included, just don't think the Huskers are where they need to be, mentally, physically, or from a talent/depth perspective to win.  I think we'll get there, but we're not there yet.  If I am wrong, so be it...but I need to actually see us play well in a big game, on the big stage, before I can have any real confidence.  In case you have forgotten, Ohio State put 56 on us last season and 62 in 2016.  In other words, we (as Nebraska fans) have good reasons to be worried about getting bent over and shown the fifty states.

I’m not worried about where we “need” to be. I’m worried about where we are.
