  1. Well best of luck to him on both finding a new school and feeling comfortable where he ends up. I guess I do not see the whole homesick feeling as much since I was a military brat as a kid then joined the military myself. However, I do know what its like to want that feeling of comfort in the decisions you make and if it isn't a good fit then move on for sure.

  2. 4 rushes for 42 yards along with 3 catches for 31 yards for Rex tonight.

Glad to see Rex get some meaningful "touches" :D Seriously though I am happy to see him play again I hated to see him go.

  3. It's well and good to have opinions on how Nebraska is going to do this season, but who really knows for sure. One thing I know for sure is I was excited by what I saw at the end of the season and we have a lot of unknown quantities on this years team.

I would also like to point out that Urban Meyer is also at Ohio State and they recruit really well not to say he isnt a good couch, but top shelf recruits help out alot.

  4. I think Nebraska is at least outwardly projecting a positive image. It is pleasant to hear good things from the media outside of the program and state for that matter that don't focus on imploding coaches or other distractions.

It is still early in this regimes career, but I am optimistic enough to think we can pull a winning record this year and compete in games more efficiently than last year. No hard evidence to support these claims just hoping that the talent we have on the roster can get a chance to come out and play some decent football.

  5. Distance plays a part for sure since the draw of having your family or friends near is a big deal to some kids. There is just too many factors that can change a kids mind more so for kids with options greater than South Dakota State and the like. However, I think that it depends on the connections to the coaching staff, current recruits, and existing players that influence most kids to stay.

I have found that you take recruiting with a grain of salt, if the kid is meant to stay then he will regardless of distance. In the case of Hampton, yeah that one is a tough read, he committed quick so we will have to see how that pans out for sure. Maybe he has a rock solid relationship with Bray or maybe he just wants a place to go if no other school offers.

  6. There is really no difference from any other year as far as the potential to lose the current verbal commitments. We just have to trust that the staff will be able to keep them interested and also that they believe that Nebraska is still the perfect fit for them if/when they decide to visit other schools.
