so he was taken into custody in Georgia, he lived in Kansas....soooooo lots of reasons why he may not have paid the ticket or known that he had a warrant out for his arrest...

two failures to appear in GA and one in Kansas.  while he isn't a woman beater it does show some immaturity and potential character issues (not being responsible for actions, repeating the same mistakes over and over).  I want to see this kid excel, but he needs to get his house in order.  While these charges are mostly minor, they can/do show a trend of poor decision making with the student athlete.  Now, do I think we should give up on him??  the jury is out for me, I will respect HCSF decision on the matter.  the coaching staff knows way more then I/we do.

I don't have any issue with this. He's just being honest.

this is tongue in cheek stuff.  nothing more..  if you have ever had a huge worked out after a lay off walking strait can be a goal for a day..  lol.

  3. based on news feeds, he may not join NU, has three failure to appear warrants out for him (at one point).  two in GA and one in Kansas.  He was released from GA Tech for failing three drug tests (pot) over 20 months.  I am all for giving a young man a help up.  however I wonder if he would be a distraction in the locker room?  Another Randy Gregory?

What do you think the chances are that we finish out the season 3 and 0?

We have a chance to win out.  Need to keep improving day by day and we just might give Illinois, Mich. St, and good ol' Iowa a $hit burger to eat..  lol

Originally said 2, Illinois and BC.  Decided, eff it. 4 wins and added MSU and Minny.

I know I've been prissy since Saturday but I have a feeling the drought ends this week, Idk why.  And I've always felt good about that MSU game.

If this team can get out of their own way, they have the ability to win four games.  Question is, can they get out of their own way???  these guys are coming up short, but I have not seen them quit like they did under nicest coach in America HCMR.  I am proud to see them keep fighting to the very end.

I’ve learned the gun is still pointed at our foot and we haven’t ran out of bullets yet

So true!!!  surprised these guys stand up at this point.  their feet have to be mostly gone now!!  LOL:flush

  7. What's that smell coming from Lincoln (or is it Chicago)?  based on record, this is now officially the worst team in Husker history,,,  so sad..  and the worst part is, I don't believe this kids/coaches are bad.   getting tougher to watch this team find new ways to lose every week.  Who would every have thought 10 strait loses (dating back to last year)?

I made something a few years ago about conference realignment. This is what I thought the Midwest should look like. I have all the conferences moved around some. I think more geographically located conferences make more sense for everyone. Should be no independents allowed - all conferences need same amount of teams/games etc.

There also have been reports that some nutritional supplements, as well as performance-enhancing drugs such as creatine supplements and anabolic steroids, are associated with rhabdomyolysis and kidney failure.

Athletes who push their bodies beyond their physical limits are at particular at risk for developing this disorder. For instance, people who do a lot of weight lifting may develop rhabdomyolysis if they lift more than their muscles can physically handle

I would agree with this and add that not allowing your body enough rest before your next workout can cause muscle issues.  Especially if you pushed yourself hard in the previous workout.  This injury is serious and it looks like Scott and staff take it seriously.  While none of us know the actual facts other then "fairly intense" workouts I am not willing to simply throw the S&C couch under the bus until I have a lot more of the details as to what these kids were doing day to day with their work outs, what was their current condition (in shape etc.) and were they being supervised whenever they were in the gym etc.

    Disagree.  This just isn't true.

yes, I suspect it will happen again at NU, just keep doing the same thing over and over hoping for different out comes..  LOL

Yeah I'm still just sold on the idea that SE was so out of touch with our program that he didn't realize how pissed our fanbase would have been if his top target Bielma would have happened.  His backup was Riley IMO and it was a backup like having a donut in your trunk is a backup, it'll get ya home but don't schedule a road trip.

the real issue here is, who hired SE and SP????  Pearlman, that's who!!  we bash MR (correctly) for being sub-par coach and yet the man behind the curtain (HP) should be the one tared and feathered!!  his poor leadership and even worse stewardship of the Husker brand is unbelievable.  He, rode NU football like someone rides their cash cow product (all the way to the dirt).  HP short of hiring (or should I say begging) Tom to bail his butt out after the BC fiasco is the only good thing HP did.  even then he pushed Tom aside for SE, Pearlman just never got it when it came to NU football.  Rant Off...

  12. MR was the wrong hire right off the bat (you just don't hire a career 500 coach at NU with as many seasons under his belt as MR had).  I watched his act in San Diego.  Three years and I think he won 3-5 games total.  His leaving SD running back to OSU was a blessing for the Chargers.  I stopped watching NU play after the team literally rolled over and played dead against Ohio State.  I was surprised their white pants were yellow stained..  they all looked like they would rather be home playing Xbox.

Mike is class, and he did hire some fairly good coaches, however he hired some really crappy ones as well!!  his best were the D-line, WR, and Safeties coaches.  Diaco and the O-line coach were by far his worst.

I was thinking, MR would be pretty good as an ambassador for a university (have no idea if those even exist).  That is where his "nicest coach in America" talent lies.

One last shot at the Bo-haters, I bet you would take 9-3 right now wouldn't you??  For the record, I was not a fan of Bo's sideline behavior and his behavior after being fired was a bore.  That said, I hope everyone can agree going forward, you just don't fire a 9-3 coach unless their is legal issues involved.

  13. I didn't watch any of the game, howver from what I read and was told, Patrick was under constant blitzing so I think for a freshman (red shirt) he did well for his first real action.

Damon B. brought up an  interesting topic on 1620 the Zone this morning. He was sharing a quote by a former husker player who said, “We (Huskers) need to find a coach that can bridge the gap between the ‘glory days’ fans with the fans of today. Then he asked this question, “Why am I a husker fan? Is it because my parents were?  Is it because I live in the state of Nebraska?

Is it because (for the young kids in our state) I want to be in the next Rex Burkhead?

For myself, I’m a ‘glory days’ fan. I am also a Tom Osborne fan.

What about you HB folks: Why are you a Husker fan. An even better question is this:

Why are the younger folks Husker fans? Most of them weren’t even alive during the glory days. Do what draws them to be Husker fans?

When I was 5 living in Southern CA, when NU played OU on thanksgiving (not day after) everyone would come to the house to watch the game.  I got to see Johnny the Jet tear up OU and never forget how the whole house went crazy.  Both my mom and step-dad are from Neb (panhandle) so growing up NU fan was a right of passage in my house.  I have never been to a regular season home game.  went to the spring game in 2012 which was canceled due to the storm.  have the ticket framed and on the wall.  I hate to lose but can deal with it as long as we make the other team earn it.  Nothing more humiliating to an NU fan than watching a team lay down on the field and surrendering the game they way they did vs. OSU.  Some of the kids were trying but most (and coaches) "phoned it in" that game.
