If you want to continue throwing yourself an internet pity party, find somewhere else to do it. Either follow the rules & guidelines we have in place for P&R or find another message board.

If you're incapable of making an appropriate decision on your own then we will make it for you.

Wow, you are sensitive.  I was merely pointing out that, for many, putting another on "ignore" isn't good enough for them.  Not only do they NOT want to read a particular member's ideas, they don't want ANYONE to be able to read their ideas.  Is saying this a violation of the rules too?

This game reminds me a lot of the PSU v tOSU night game in 2016 that nobody expected PSU to win. They blocked that FG and won and changed how their program is viewed nationally.

My impression is that Ohio State is significantly better on both sides of the ball than the 2016 version.  As well, I have the impression that the 2016 PSU squad was better than this year's Nebraska squad.  Still, I think NU can win the game, but they'll have to play a perfect game to do it, in my novice opinion.

    "THE Ohio State University"

shouldn't it be "Ohio State University" or "The University of Ohio State"

when OSU comes, the PA announcer should say, "Welcome to THE University of Nebraska Cornhuskers at THE Memorial Stadium"

A high school kid once committed to "The University of Ohio State".

I'll be honest and say that the reason I'm not keen on it is because I just really don't think we have much of a chance of actually winning the game.

On paper, Ohio State has more talent than any team in the country, but the game isn't played on paper.  If Frost and company come up with a good game plan and if the players play smart and make plays, Nebraska can absolutely win the game.  If Nebraska pulls off the upset, it will be the win that catapults Nebraska into a new era.

I can't remember who but there were posters here who said the defense would need to carry this team early on this year while the offense gelled and figured it out. I think they were spot on and that's what we're seeing.

You guys were one play away from winning against a solid opponent on the road.  The sky is not falling.

Can you do this stuff if you need to be your absolute best?  Doesnt it take your absolute best to win a NC?

Of intense critical jobs: Do they let aircraft carrier flight deck personnel smoke weed?

Do they let Nascar pit crew smoke weed?

It seems this kid isn't buying in.  Just hope it's not endemic to the program.

He's done pretty well on the back of two straight 4-8 seasons,  one in only two months.  Ranked #19 last year.  If the wins come this fall like we expect,  then I think things will start rolling in that regard to push NU to high single digits/low teens in the years ahead (2021 and beyond).  I don't ever expect top 5 classes, as he will take guys who are perfect system fits but lower rated for whatever reason.

    2020 I think 15-20 ish range again like 2019.

The good news is that the B1G West is VERY winnable and if Frost runs a winning program that's fun to watch and fun to play in, he should be able to get elite talent.  I think NU can recruit top-5 classes IF Frost proves to be elite.

Nebraska will defeat Ohio State or Wisconsin or possibly both this year. I think we'll beat Iowa, too.

Unfortunately, we will probably to lose to one or more of Northwestern, Indiana, and Purdue because that's the way these things usually happen.

Two years in a row Ohio State has gotten BLOWN OUT in B1G West road, night games.  For all his accolades, I think Greg Schiano did a terrible job coordinating our defense.  We've got NFL talent all over the defense and, in spite of that, our defense posted the worst numbers in 30 years.  The good news is that Schiano is gone.  I expect that our defense will be MUCH improved as it will be in competent hands.

With that said, Nebraska may very well beat tOSU when we visit Lincoln.  It would be a HUGE victory for you guys and for Scott Frost.

I expect us to break the top 10 occasionally, top 15 regularly. I also expect us to make the playoffs occasionally.

I don't want to derail this thread, but how do you feel about your 2020 class?

Problematic, to be sure. IMO, you can’t in an era with so many transfers and underclassmen....but people love rankings.

That's true.  It's a long summer and I guess we have to have something to talk about.  Just be thankful it's about something mundane and not about your star player being investigated for possible abuse of his girlfriend, etc.

I think both Patterson and Fields are good QBs.  I just don't think they have shown enough to definitely put them above 2AM.

I don't think Fields should be rated at all until he's got a few games under his belt.

  12. I think there is a good chance for NU and tOSU to meet twice this year, although Phil is picking Michigan from the east.  I think Michigan's offense is decent and their defense is overrated. Harbaugh hasn't been able to beat tOSU or win a big game.  He's 1-3 in bowls, 2-2 against MSU, and 0-4 against tOSU.
