I've never said I am better than anyone... so pipe down junior. What I will say from my experiences from going to games is the decline of heart on the field. There was a fire in the eyes of the kids when they would come out of that tunnel, now they look like a bunch of scared sheep with the deer in the headlights stare. This aint high shcool and there are no 2nd chances at this level... if that was the case, we would get another shot at USC and that just aint gonna happen.

You know, you seem like a cool cat... what do you think the coaches can do to get the players to shore up the holes in the run defense? I bet Wistrom and those guys would get their azzes chewed bad by McBride, and look how they turned out! I think we are coddling this team too much. just my honest opinion. A big problem is that Coz has his backer blitz off tackle, he should consider run blitzes in the gaps instead. Also, our D-line plays too high which makes me think coaching sucks and they are tired. We need to say forget it and play 8 in the box by bringing Ruud up to the line on the strong side, have the DE play heads up on the tackle to shoot the gap and then bring up our best safety in run support. He would play Weak side and Dillard and Octavien would be in the middle. That is our best bet I think. WOW!! Thats an awesome answer... much respect to your knowledge of the inner workings. What does playing too high mean? they are being asked to move around too much?

Thats the idea!! I think you are right, the coaches should do more to develop heart. but the kids have got to have something to develop, and I am just not seeing it on the field. I hope they prove me wrong, you dont know how badly I want the D to make me eat every word, and I hope they do!

All your suggestion of benching (or even worse...dismissing...how stupid) for a comment, which the player took steps to correct on his own, would do is hurt the team further. So a player makes an inappropriate comment after the game, you want to dismiss him, and you think that will make the other players do better? Your problem is the defense is sucking, but you're punishing a player for something totally unrelated to defensive play, and expect it to make the team player better? Have you been drinking? I said this thread was to get the attention of the fans, and it worked. You dont actually have to kick someone off the team to make your point, but you have to let them THINK you are serious so they will respond the way you need them to, no matter if it hurts their feelings. Its not about feelings, its about tradition, the program and ultimately winning championships. You wont get that with players who spout bollocks about fans booing, because they are not focused on what they should be... the GAME itself.

It almost happened saturday. Some fat loud mouth 2 rows behind me just about got thrown down the steps by several of us. Because he booed? I am sure he had to be more insulting than that. I don't believe in booing college kids but I DO believe everyone has the right to say/boo whatever they want as long as it isn't insulting to those around them with derogatory language. If you can't handle hearing someone boo then that is a testament to your character as well. No, it wasn't just because he booed. He would not shut up all game and had absolutely nothing polite, positive to say. Not only was he negative, he was completely off base, out of line and uninformed. There was a lady that sat next to us that drove 9 hours with her daughter to go to this game that had a miserable experience because of this person. Towards the end of the game he was hearing it from pretty much everyone. I just don't understand why people bother to spend time and money on something that they can't stand and are so negative about. I didn't boo and I don't believe in it. Well, there you go... you have to respect each other and the program, to a point. We are at the point where something DRASTIC needs to happen if we have a hope in hell of winning the north. While I respect your stance to just sit and stew, I will be more vocal and let the players know that they are failing us! Its all about choices.

I would agree that Coz is NO pelini, but we have to work with what we got... Someone should get Coz fired up McBride style... something needs to rock the D boat!!

So unless you attend every game you are not a fan? What about the people on the western side of the state who just can't drive to Lincoln every week or the people who simply can't afford tickets, are you saying they aren't fans? Never said you arent a fan unless you go to a game... I merely made a statement about the booing and the fans right to do so, especially those who PAID for the right. Additionally, I was making a point that someone needs to get the attention of the players, even if it means threatening them with their starting jobs. It worked here, I bet it would work in the locker room too.

Just to be clear, in general you are correct. However, you still must abide by the rules laid forth by the guy who pays for this site. You don't just have a free pass to go ape. I am not saying that you have, but I just wanted to put that out there. I sincerely appreciate that... Look, the only thing I am doing with this thread is getting the attention of the fans to prove a point. I am not saying I am right, this is merely MY opinion. Having been to every single game since 1998, I think I have earned the right to speak loudly about the team and the direction it is taking. I dont think I am better than anybody, and at times I am sure I am off target... but when people dogpile you for saying what needs to be said, stand back because the fists will fly.
