B1G Officially Cancels 2020 Season, What’s Next For NU?
jjamuss replied to seaofred92's topic in Husker Football
Drug testing, yes... just ask Randy Gregory. COVID testing? Hell no, anyone's guess is as good as another's. I'd prefer they win games... but playing is part of that, so.... -

There are more than 5 wins on the schedule. 'Come Together' and stop looking backwards... that garbage is over; leave it in the flaming dumpster where it belongs.

Memorial Stadium video boards/ribbon board upgrades
jjamuss replied to Lyons in the Sea of Red.'s topic in Husker Football
If I heard correctly, the boards facing the east and west stands on the north end of the stadium will become 2 sided boards (wrap around the corner boards) for the North End Zone fans. Good deal for we poor fans that cant afford the sideline donations. -
Destroyer of blocks! Diaco Rocks!

Lack of depth was exposed last year and it cost us games having a one horse QB. I think we will see POB and Lee throughout the fall, especially if the OLine doesnt take the leap forward. If someone feels the need to transfer because they didnt win the job, then we are better off without them. Competitors, like Frazier and Berringer, will stick it out because you never know when your number will get called.

Early Predictions for 2017 - Which Games Do We Win

My thoughts exactly. -
Spring Game tickets are on sale to the general public
jjamuss replied to knapplc's topic in Husker Football
The other cool thing is you can click on the section you want to sit in and see if there are any tickets in it. I don't know if this is a public option but it was for me as a season ticket holder. That's a cool enhancement this year. -

I just bought, east stadium 40 yard line row 4, bit low imho but seems there are plenty of good ones left. -
And that is exactly what anyone said? Makes sense. So you believe this team was deserving of a top 25 final ranking? You're lying to yourself if you think every one of those teams "deserves" to be in the Top 25 but, using the same metrics, Nebraska absolutely doesn't. Especially since, being the third team in "others receiving votes" we're basically ranked 28th.I'm not saying any of them "deserves" it. Just stating the obvious that we do not. Don't see any sense in crying over a few possible mistakes in the poll until we clearly belong there.I don't see any sense in whining that we don't belong when there isn't a clear case that anyone past the top ten belongs. You don't want me to cry, then stop whining. Outside the top ten, who really cares? This is the right idea, except outside first... nothing else matters. No one wants to be remembered for being the first place loser.

jjamuss Great writing. This is why I come to this board. The truth sometimes hurts. But ignoring the truth hurts much worse. bravo Thanks Psycho!

I thought they just got done adding seats? Is this for real? They slightly reduced capacity before the last season, and that will probably continue to be a trend, but this is not nearly as much a reflection on Nebraska specifically as it is a reflection on the sport as a whole. Almost every stadium 'expansion' happening across the country these days either reduces 'normal' seat capacity, increasing luxury box capacity, or both. People just aren't going to sporting events the way they used to. I sit where they "enhanced" the stadium in the North Stadium... yeah, I'm a "poor" Husker fan. But the reality is when you have 91000 seats and only sell 90000 seats, you do one of two things... 1) you lose the final identity Nebraska has with the "Greatest Fans" or 2) you reduce the number of seats to match what was actually sold. Eichorst chose #2.

When does Ronnie Green make his stamp on the University and show Eichorst the door? To me, Perlman has been the issue since day one of 2000 and the last 16 years proved that he was unable to make the right hires. As the stadium is being "enhanced" via another capacity reduction in 2017 it is clear fan interest is waning and the sellout streak is being clung to as the final legacy of the glory years. Too many teams in our conference are overcoming adversity which is brutally worse than what Nebraska has dealt with and are proving that waiting for change only prolongs misery. Sacrificing a position coach here and there only proves the wrong people are being hired in the first place; and it all starts at the top.

Seriously... Is winning them all asking too much? If the answer is yes, then we have the wrong guy. I don't understand what happened in the past 20 years except that losing has become part of the way and I think that is just plain weak.

clock is ticking? Urgent desperate times? College football will be played for another 100 years, I think we have some time. And in that 100 years what if we don't win a single game? What will happen? What are you going to do about it? Fire another coach after a year or two and start over? Throw a check at the big name that will do it. Realistically, building a dominate program can take time. It took Tom Osborne 15 years. Maybe we should just be happy with where we are and support our team going forward and trust that maybe stability will get us somewhere worth going. Also, it's not that important to say we are in desperate times, come on man people are ok with this because A) there is nothing we can do about it and B) at the end of the day it's just a game and most of us spend 85% of our time on other things. I think what the OP meant is do we want settle and be the Chicago Cubs of NCAA football? I was in my 20s the last time we were relevant... I am now staring at 50. That's urgent... I'd like to see the Huskers return to national prominence before I die. Is that not a desperate situation?
