$200 on Tressel to finish first, please. Vegas is so effin' awesome! Where else could you wager on employment prospects?

  2. The character-driven episodes would be better if the characters were interesting. Like the sit down between Rick and the Governor a couple seasons back. That was a good episode. The last couple have been shite. Stop trying to make Daryl interesting. It's not going to happen.

We didn't need a full episode to see how Carol ended up in the hospital.

agreed... this season lost all momentum after the escape from terminus. hopefully it goes out with a bang tonight.

  3. Pelini would be a great DC anywhere and eventually would find a great home as head coach in a low pressure, smaller market program. Unfortunately despite best efforts to that end, that's not what Nebraska will stand for being.

Best of luck to you, Bo. I'm sure we will be seeing more excellent defenses run by you in the future. At least I hope so. 2009 was beautiful.

indeed it was, texas was sh!tt!n themselves, for a second.

  4. Funny how all the Bo backers are in here predicting the worst as far as player defections. I guess we'll have to wait and see how it all shakes out. I'm sure we'll lose some recruits and maybe a few current players but they will be offset by players the new coach attracts. Let's not get all goofy here.

Spot on. Transfers and decommits happen at any school when the HC is changed out. Anyone pretending to be shocked there will be some attrition is living with their head up their rectum.

  5. "we showed up and had a good time" - this is where we are at? that's about the only optimistic thing you can find in Husker football....

also...what about the 1.5 million of us that didn't show up - and definitely didn't have a very good time watching that embarrassment.

I am glad people watch the game on TV; but what about those who invest more than the 3 hours with the click of a button and put their time and money on the line never really knowing if we will win or lose. The point is, we go because it is a passion and not a TV past time. Was I mad we lost? damn right I was and still am, to the point I said some things during the game that I wish I could take back... damn you Seagrams 7! Point is, going to the game is more than about winning all of them (although my hope is we win them all)... see my post above. GBR!

  6. I have been going to games since 94, I have somewhere around 120 games under my belt, I am now 41 years old. I haven't missed a home game since 2004 (was in England visiting family with my mom and even there I ran into Husker fans from Lincoln in Nottingham), I am one of the lucky ones. I always have fun at the games in one way or another, you have to be dead from the neck up not to find something to like about it. However, after spending another $1000, just for the tickets to sit with the Gods, I am seriously starting to wonder if there are better ways to spend my hard earned money. I doubt I will give up my tickets, but for that thought to even creep in my mind is alarming... then I remember something I said to my mom, God rest her soul, when she asked me why it is so important that I be at the game instead of watching on telly... and my answer then is the same reason today why I wont give up my tickets... going to the games allows you to be part of something bigger than yourself. And that is why I bother being a fan... there is no place on Earth I would rather be, when there is a Husker home game, than Memorial Stadium, Lincoln Nebraska... Amen.

  7. SE can have all the stances he wants, when he has some major boosters pissed off standing at his desk, he'll do what he's told. Until then whether he stays or goes is only speculation, my guess? He's gone..........

I think BRI is on target with this... the bit about "he'll do as he is told" couldn't be stated better. For a LONG time I really believed the fans had a say in these matters... I was dead wrong. It is big money at the controls. Love it or hate it, its a fact that a panel of money will determine Bo's future at NU. College sports are a business, Bo is bad for business at NU. I hate saying that because I truly believed until Saturday despite the warnings along the way: the A&M meltdown on Martinez, the hat assault on a ref, BoGate, and too many tirades on national TV to count... just to name a few. I'm officially on board with the Bo must go camp, sorry I ever doubted you guys.

  8.

Jim Tressel has retired from coaching, fellas. He's happy where he is right now.

Besides - why would Nebraska want to go on a possible five year sanction after the show-cause? If that were the case, we'd just keep Bo where he is for the next five years, LOL

And you know he's retired from it for sure how? He'd take a coaching job at a top level school if he was offered it and things were right. Nebraska needs to get back to being Nebraska, they would probably toy with the idea of the sanctions if they thought it was the right thing for the program to get it back on the right track with the results that are expected. Nothing says the NCAA won't listen to a argument about the sanctions.

If KSU can get Snyder to come out of retirement, then I think anything is possible. Whose to say Tressel wouldnt want to pad his wallet a bit with a program where he could exact some revenge on the people that ran him out of Youngstown?

  9. As cryptic as it sounds...I think Eichorst was hired for a reason....the reason is to get rid of Bo if certain expectations weren't met. I've been told from plenty of people that Harvey Perlman and Bo don't see eye to eye.

a lot of folks say some donor is calling the shots at HC, Howard Hawks? I hate to think that one person could have that much influence on a program with as many season ticket holders as NU, but greed never surprises me.

  10. I will always remember you and your team that night in Dallas. What an incredible D, and your fire brought a spark to a program that had lacked hope for a long time.

"The BCS, that's why they make that call." That is a classic quote. There were better days, and I don't regret this ride. Good Luck Bo.

I was at that game... Bo got robbed, plain and simple.

I don't say goodbyes, it's too absolute for me... like someone dying. I would rather say thanks for trying to right the wrongs of deeds and deals gone bad; good luck to ya and we will see ya later.

  11. I don't really have a specific coach wish list but I do have a wish list for what a potential coach will bring to Nebraska football.

    1. A return to the power running game (preferably with a good dose of option and play action passing).
    2. A grind the clock mentality instead of score fast and often one (probably not to popular with the younger generations).
    3. A big, powerful offensive line to go with the running game.
    4. A return to that physical Nebraska that teams dreaded playing on Saturday's.

Is that too much to ask for this Christmas?

esp #4! there used to be a saying that went something like... "opposing teams knew they just played Nebraska from the physical beating they just took".

  12.

the defense was pitiful, Gerry was out of position all the time, several plays we couldn't even line up right before the play began.......just plain f'ing embarrassing is all you can say! Pap ought to have has ass kicked, f'ing amateur!

Give Gerry a break!!!!!!!! After every defensive play he's there The kid can only do so much behind a DL that lays down 90% of the time.

    T_O_B

Gerry was the only one that could catch Gordon, that kid would be money if he had a proper coach. JP is a joke and Bo is responsible for the ineptitude on defense.

  13.

The sad part is that people now expect these blowout losses or losing to teams that we should be able to beat. That expectation is what our program is known for now, and that is embarrassing.

    We are now Iowa

We wish we were Iowa, at least their coach is a respectable person... I think Bo is doing blow with his bro!
