All lives do matter. That is why people are acknowledging the disproportionate rate of incarceration and victimization of the African American community.

Ultimately, it's kinda dumb, but it's a marketing issue. If they had used #AllLivesMatter from the beginning or something like that, they could have leveraged that generalized statement into shaming racists and uniting everyone rather than specifying one group. It serves to atomize the population rather than unite them. It's a very 'us vs them' type statement rather than 'all of us' statement. At least is how it comes off. I agree with the intent, not the delivery.
