Alabama WR Isaiah Bond in the portal. We know he can make contested catches. DeBoer has had success with WRs so this one is interesting.
He's trying to get paid by Bama, and entered before Deboer was confirmed. If Deboer brings his WR coach, than he'll stick around an get the payday he wants.

Can we bring McCaffery back for a season? Almost a 1k receiver, and 13 TDS.

Williams is going pro though so....something is up here. It would be his job and yet he is leaving. Seems far from can't miss if Riley is out recruiting Howard from KSU instead of getting ready to play this kid.
10 hours ago, admo said:Yeah, could be truth about Howard to USC, and Malachi Nelson doesn't want to sit out again. He's too talented so I don't blame him going into Portal. Especially when your coach (Lincoln Riley) said he is the next Pat Mahomes (over and over). I'd rather have 2-3 years with Nelson than one year with a transfer kid for one season.
Remember though, Riley went with Spencer Rattler at OU over Caleb Williams. Until Williams got on the field and proved he was better than what Riley thought between the two players.
Had read that Nelson had shoulder surgery and fell to 3rd on the depth chart. They had said Miller Moss looked better throughout camp, and Nelson never really got out of the practice squad. Also, sounds like Will Howard is on his way in, as mentioned.

Crazy, because he credited relationships with a few of the current commits'... and strong relationships with Rhule, Raiola, and the strength coach multiple times.
Speaking of last staff, were they the ones that helped develop Benhart this year or was that Raiola? Did they also bring the other honorable mention in Ben Scott, as well?

I have Nebraska Pipeline dreams and would prefer a top tier O Line coach instead of one still growing into the role. He is only in his 2nd year ever of being the only O-Line coach and was brought in for obvious reasons. We were 3rd in average yards rushing against a weak side of the conference. Let’s hope I am wrong and we get Baker to flip to cover the growing pains of 3 stars
He is literally bringing in two 4 stars, but I guess leave those factors out.

There isn't one, they would need to use their transfer unless the school releases them. There was a kid that kept flipping between USC and Texas include a flip after signing, but IIRC there was a crazy waiver process involved which would likely not be approved at this point.
Talking about Bru McCoy, currently on the Vols roster. It was when Kliff left USC for AZ, so Bru went to Texas, completed spring practice, and went back to USC. Then I think his Freshmen year dealt with a mystery injury and redshirted. Then got arrested (think it was domestic violence), charges were dropped, but USC didn't want him anymore, didn't play for 2 years... Then transferred to TN and had a decent breakout for the 2022 season but then got hurt this year.

4 different orgs (FWAA, Walter Camp, The Athletic, CBS Sports and USA TODAY Sports) have named him 1st Team All American at DB now. Hurts a little more now seeing how well he's playing on that side of the ball.

My guess would be either DB or DL coach.
I'm guessing Rob Dvoracek (LB coach) or Evan Cooper (DB coach/passing game coordinator).

What type of raise is he about to get from all this hype?

All of which have been significantly better than us these last 8-9 years.
Clemson has won multiple CFPs in the last decade - I’d kill to be in their position.
How many CFP teams have gotten there through talent development? Cincinnati and maybe you could argue TCU. That’s 2 in the entire existence of the CFP.
Michigan State 15-16, Washington 16-17, so 4 teams including the one's you mentioned since 2014. It can be done.

Yep I definitely did. I wanted an elite recruiter. That’s how you get into the top 10 these days. We have a major talent problem.
?? Texas AM, ND, Clemson all say hello. Just because talent comes, doesn't guarantee success. Defense looks significantly improved, we'll just have to see how the offense continues to develop and whether or not staff is willing to change plans on the fly.

Seeing other places we also got Jacob Bower from CA (same HS as Johnny Stanton I think ). Besides football, he has also played on the USA U18 national Rugby team.

If this is him, he looks like a bad man.

From Skutt, went to Wyoming. Probably as a walkon.
Thought he was a QB, but that picture is not a QB stance.
Twitter announcement he has pinned says he entered the portal as a TE/ATH, so he's most likely making a position change. I'm still thinking as a walk-on.

I would figure today we hear a few more. No idea when you would hear that someone would retire.
Has to be announced today for them to enter if they're not graduating, correct? At least if they want to be eligible for next season.

Smothers is from Alabama, so he would be smart to look for a Sun Belt-type school, or even a FCS school closer to home.
Thought UAB or Southern Miss would be a good landing spot.

I guess I spoke it into existence. I would've liked what other people had said about him sticking around in some capacity, but best of luck to him.

Honestly thought Purdy would be the first one out the door.
I was thinking Smothers, feel like I haven't heard a peep about him, but I might've missed something.

I wonder if there are any quality OL players in that transfer group?
No starters - a JUCO transfer with 2 years left that didn't play and a sophomore that hasn't logged any playing time.

If Stroud freefalls like they're saying, I could see the packers taking him, do not think Jordan Love is the long term.

I don't know if I completely agree with that. If I go back to Ameer's junior year, I'd say we saw a back that routinely just found ways to pick up yards that otherwise weren't there.
Now that O-line was better than what we have by a mile. But I don't think you can say that a back is "good" merely because they're running through huge holes, right? Any back could do that.
I still see your point though.
I think it depends on the type of RB you have back there. I remember Ameer being extremely patient for lanes to get open.

Word is Betts has to take "around 20 hours from now until summer to get back on track."
If that's 20 hours this semester, that's a pretty good load. But I'm sure he'll have plenty of help.
Took 21 hours my final semester and it was awful. Don't know how you stack that on top of football, but maybe the extra help he'll get will make the difference.

We did offer... He wanted to go to ND, and committed like a week after he received the offer from them.
