Do you guys really really want this kid?

Not really...He is kind of overrated and would be a waste of a scholarship.

Do you guys really really want this kid?

A five star defensive tackle? Nah

Do you guys really really want this kid?

Only if he isn't a backup like Kevin Williams.
Husker fans are delusional. This young and promising athlete shows great potential at the collegiate level. His impressive size and power combination leads me to believe that he could be impressive sooner rather than later.

It means that the last 4 coaches NU has hired...no other teams really seemed to want. Think about that for a second.

teams like Alabama and USC have tried prying Riley from Oregon State before so is that really true?

I heard this mentioned before but I have never actually seen any proof that Riley was ever offered those jobs.

Googled "mike riley offered alabama job" and got 630,000 results

Googled "mike riley offered usc job" and got 824,000 results

I could Google Jennifer Aniston sex tape and get 900k results and not one of them is real.

Or is this a "you can't prove to me Americans walked on the moon" moment?

You can show me pictures of Americans on the moon, there are no pictures of Mike Riley in USC head coach attire.

Probably because he DIDN'T take the job?

Thats what they want you to think...

Every year we see a hot seat for head coaches. I thought it would be interesting to do thid just for Nebraska Coaches. This yr (so far) we saw Read get the axe. Here is my list of NU Football coaches who have the hottest seat:

#1 Reggio Davis- no big rb commit so far this yr and doesn't seem like a stellar recruiter in general. Our rb's have struggled last couple years more than any other time I can remember.

#2 Brian Stewart- after one yr of being secondary coach our defensive coordinator chooses to take over the safeties. In the second year we hire a secondary coach. What does this mean for stewart?

#3 Mark Banker- we made improvement and have a better supporting staff of coaches. However, we are still having too many melt downs (iowa, Ohio state) and too many big plays allowed. I know we play bend don't break but it felt like we let an awful lot of bend sometimes and always was wondering when we were gonna let up a big play or even show up at all. Time for Banker to prove he can have a great defense.

#4 Cavanaugh- offensive line flat out got smacked this yr and not just against top quality opponents. Every team has injuries so that excuse can only be used so much. Our running game is dismal and perhaps that is because of number 1 on the list or because we have more of a passing offense. Bottom line with Gates and Foster back next year and several red shirted players with tons of potential next yr it is time to start looking like a pipeline again.

#5 John Parrella- too early to tell. This is a fan favorite who walked into a bad situation and has seemed to do well so far. Why is he #5. Our defensive line still isn't getting enough pressure. Parrella may end up being one of our best coaches. Right now it is just too early to know.

#6 Donte Williams- our newest coach and he can recruit. Unlikely he will go anywhere if he lives anywhere near up to his expectations.

#7 tie Mike Riley/Danny Langsford- Riley probably only needs 7 or 8 wins next yr and he will remain our coach(whether you are for or against him). If he goes every one else probably goes too. Langsford I feel is tied to the Riley Package. I don't see him going anywhere unless Riley gets fired regardless of how our offense performs.

#9 Keith Williams- so long as he stays away from trouble with alcohol, he is our best recruiter and an awesome coach. Any program would love to have him on their staff. Even if Riley were gone we would be lucky to keep Williams (though it would be a long shot at that time).

    Thoughts?

we haven't had an offensive line with depth for 10 years......this is on the head coach.
This is what Riley was left with, the OL recruiting has had a huge upswing.

    I repeat. RELAX

I'm not sure anyone is freaking out? Or at least I'm not. Just stated that more recruiting analysts are putting in predictions for Joseph to USC.

Pretty sure he has to keep telling himself to relax.

I'm going to tell someone to relax later tonight if you know what I mean.

    Rapey vibes ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

We haven't backed off of him.

The accuser has came out and said that the sexual encounter with the recruit and the other guy were consensual. It was the later encounters that produced this horrible situation.

I don't want to take a recruit who bangs a random girl while on a visit to another university?
Are you gay mate? It's okay to tell us.

Also the not wanting to take players who have had sex with girls before is a little too high and mighty for my liking.

The mind boggles with remarks like this. Some schools in the SEC cheat like dogs......you okay with that or is it a little high and mighty for your liking.

It also a little upsetting that so many are painting this kid guilty and condemning him when he actually didnt do anything wrong but have sex at a college party.

  8. There's too many high profile dark horses this year... the stress levels are through the roof. We could end up with 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️'s and a top 10 class or we could miss on all of them, settle for some plan C's and end up with a bunch of ⭐️⭐️⭐️'S and a top 30 class. A lot of our next few years rides on us locking up some talent. We can recruit skill players all day long but if we don't get pass rush or pass protection with the lines then it won't matter.

IMO these OT's and WR's are the most vital for our offense. OT's because that frees us to rotate and protect our new non scrambling QB's. WR's because we are so thin there and need some immediate contributors.

On Defense we NEED DE's. We need quick, pass rushing, pressure guys who are big and fast enough to play in 2017. We are 1-2 injuries away from being screwed at this position. The DB's we are in on is a bonus... we have depth and talent already here and the same with LB, although we could use a really quick, sure tackling OLB in space.

  9. Many believe this is between Ohio State and Michigan if he leaves home, or USC and UCLA if he stays home. His dad seems to be heavily involved in the decision making for him. Nebraska was completely out of it until we hired Donte Williams. But I get the feeling he is not really making this decision, but being heavily influenced by his parents. It's between 1) go far from home because you think you can win a championship and get an awesome education (or) 2) stay home and get a good education and still play good football with NFL exposure.

If Coach Williams pulls in Holmes his salary was worth every cent.
