  1. Back to the topic of Johnny Stanton. I feel his commit might open the doors for a few receivers to pull the trigger as well. With Beau Sandland also from Calif and looking for a good home, I'm thinking it might be another reason for him to feel like Huskerland would be a good place to spend 2 years. Possibly a few linemen would also want to play in front of a Qb like Stanton. Not saying it would be a prime reason for coming here but it could play a part.

Is Sandland a JC player? or What makes you think Stanton would feel Huskerland a good place to spend 2 years?

  2. why is it so difficult to understand that if a student athlete is on scholarship, he or she is getting paid to play. a lot of the players would not be able to afford to go to college with out that scholarship.

how much does a scholarship cover each year. I bet it is worth more than I got with my student loans and working 40 hours a week at McDonalds when I was in college.

  3. For the most part Wisconsin fans will have a great experience at the game in Lincoln. I am sure that some will have a negative experience because, lets face it all teams have some, some A-hole wearing NU gear will call names, yell insults and just be rude. Remember alcohol makes some people 10 feet tall and bullet proof.

there are a lot more people that will invite Badger fans to a tailgate.

Have fun and enjoy the night game atmosphere

  4. I was on the Northwestern site and you can buy season tickets from $99 for youth, $152 for End Zone Reserved, $196 Corner Reserved, and $262 for reserved sidline seats.

for S&G I went in and ordered 2 best available and could have got 2 on the 35 yard line in the lower section row 75, section 127.

FYI for those wanting to purchase season tix, and donating other games to local charities, like alot of fans did for the Wake Forest game.

  5. I would worry more about Oregon than USC. USC already holds a commit for the #1 QB this year in 5* Max Browne. UCLA has 3* Eddie Printz. Oregon does not have a QB commit as of yet.

It is still a good sign that his parents are going to be here for the next visit also.

  6. what is good is that he is coming in with his family this time. going to walk around the campus and wants to meet with some of the players.

i consider this a positive sign. hopefully NU can lock him in

Rumor last night that it was a done deal. He gave the verbal to the coaches but wants mom and dad to see it. I don't know if I believe that 100% but things look very good on the surface from all the interviews and the words coming out of his mouth. Of course...after every visit he's said good things about each campus and coach. But getting him back for a second visit so close to me would indicate that he and his parents have it down to a place or two and are just making sure they are 100% right with the decision.

after watching some of the video on this kid, i really like him as a QB. he throws well, and on the the runs he doesnt shy away from contact. good power running through tackles and over would be tacklers.

hope you are right that he is "N". we will see this week

  7. Work proceeds apace on both the East Stadium and the Arena.

They are moving right along with the ironwork here. I forgot to go to the south side and get a pic of the progress over there. Maybe next week.

This shot is from atop the parking garage at 14th & Avery. Not sure it's very descriptive, but it's a different angle.

The bowl of the arena is pretty much finished. Some internal structural work to take care of, and this thing will be encircled. Compare these to the pics I took on FEB 9th, and you'll see that they've made tremendous progress.

Here are some pics from Huskers.com of the Arena model. Not sure if these have been posted here.

since when do they play Basketball in an arena with no roof?????

  8. its all about getting the best athletes on the field. Bobby Newcombe was to good to keep off of the field as a Freshman, and TO moved him to WR where he should have stayed but that is a whole other discussion.

Alot of it is the players just wanting to get onto the field also and they will ask coaches if they can move. (Team players) they know they can help out the team and and compete for PT.

all in all some times it works, some times it doesnt.

  9. right now Dixon is a Husker and I hope come signing day he is "N". A lot can happen between now and then. Just think how many pages this thread is going to be if he doesnt get the offer or gets the offer in Jan.

lots to talk about on here until that time

THIS TUDOR?! I bet that's how he got his grades up :)

I don't think she was a Tudor. She looks like a Stuart... maybe a Plantagenet. But definitely not a Tudor.

Nice historical reference............I wonder if it got through..........

isnt she the teacher from Billy Madison???????

back to Charles Jackson......Congrats and it will be good to have him on campus
