Wow, what a pos thing to do. KW seems like he is insecure and has anger management issues, no wonder he loved Bo so much. His next head coach and position coach can enjoy that baggage.

DB and Sharp were talking about a screenshotted conversation, between KW and another party, that got out. I thought they alluded to it being a text convo between players, but could be wrong. Anybody else hear that too or see it?

They were referring to this "conversation."

And I think someone above nailed it: you're talking about a guy who spent 5 years at NU, went through several injuries, earned a double major, was granted a 6th year of eligibility and decided to move on.

He specifically, on several occasions in the interview, said that the current staff was not worse or bad, just different.

You can question is reasoning when it comes to making the move, I have no problem with that.

But for Peter to say KW (and apparently other DL who left this year) lacks heart and balls and were faking, is at least as out of line as ANYTHING, including the drugs and bust comments, that KW said or tweeted.

    You're wrong.

It does lack balls to quit on a team on your own volition because of self interest. For the record KW was insinuating that the coaching was inadequate.

A respectable person would have left, and said nothing, and certainly would not have agreed to go on the radio.. KW was irrelevant, and he wanted to be relevant so he went Big Red bashing one last time.

I have a hard time with this thought process. Are you saying that you have to stick with the first job you ever get because if you quit you are quitting on your "team" and only are thinking of yourself?

I have less issue with him deciding to leave and I think it's best for him and the Husker team that he does move on, but it's the narrative behind it that raises a brow. I know we won't ever hear the true story from either KW or the coaching staff and I'm fine by that because I take his words on 1620 worth a grain of salt.

We all know JPs history and his attitude, which doesn't excuse his own tweets, but KW going out of his way and comment like that is inexcusable and lacks maturity. It's one rough moment in his life and it doesn't define him, but dang does he have some work to do on himself to grow up. He mentioned wanting Husker fans to understand his decision, to support him, and doesn't want to leave on bad terms...not exactly the look to earn that respect. Defending him by saying that he has been in the program for 5, would've been 6 years, may provide reasoning for him to move on, but it doesn't excuse his own actions.

I totally get what you are saying but look, on this site we have people ripping him and that is "okay" but he can't do an interview and really in the end not say anything all that bad at all?
I may not be following your point the way you intended, so for that I apologize ahead of time, but if I am gathering your point correctly, I'm not ripping his decision to leave...I more so don't understand it nor do I buy into many points he made about why he's leaving. My raw feelings I'll keep to myself, unlike JP KW and some message board posters. I'll say this though, his response to JP opened the door for criticism, it doesn't make it right, but it's expected at that point. As is JP getting ripped from people here as well.

I don't recall who called me out, but I had a beer and split a bottle of wine tonight, did I do that right? ...use the word narrative? Heck, I'll call him a chicken f*****

    I want a goddamn litre o' cola!

If POB is the QB for 2017, it's imperative that he see the field this year. I don't foresee him displacing Armstrong as a starter, barring injury, but you don't want his first live game experience to be as a redshirt freshman starter.

I don't see it's imperative that he sees the field this year. There have been very talented QB's who started as redshirt freshmen without seeing the field the prior season.

If POB wins the backup job, it's a different story. But, right now he's #4.

Who are you thinking of? I'm having a hard time thinking of one who had a strong season as a redshirt freshman, especially in a pro system.

I prefer not to have 2017 be a "throwaway" season during which we are breaking in a new QB.

That said, I don't know that POB should be considered the QB of the future. Maybe it's Bush for 2017. Just saying that if POB starting in '17 is where the coaches see it going, then they should get him live reps this year.

It's a delicate situation, to be sure.

    Jameis Winston for starters?

Coaches have to be really careful to put Tommy in a situation where he can't make a mistake. I love Tommy, but his situation awareness isn't the best ... and you want your QBs to have that. I don't remember too many plays but the other one I'm thinking of is this 4th & 2 or whatever, and Tommy chucks up a longshot fade to the corner of the endzone.

The goal, ultimately, is to have a QB that has a good sense of things on the field. That comes with a lot of time spent both coaching and learning.

I've seen Tommy make a lot of smart and instinctual plays too. His play against Michigan for the win as a freshman (?) comes to mind.

People put too much emphasis on his supposedly awful decisions and forget he makes at least as many great plays too.

Trying to think of those great plays against Iowa this last year. Tommy is the type of player that makes you drop your jaw whether its good or bad. QBs have to be steady and that's something he has struggled with immensely.

  4. Here's a question. How come we never heard about academic suspensions and leaves of absense for academics when Bo was here? Did he simply babysit to the point it didn't happen? Or did he just cover it up well with putting a boot on a person or lying about it?

It seems like with Mike we have a lot of low grades stuff going on. Rose Ivey, rose, McMullen, and others and those are just the ones we know about.

Well if Bo didn't have a problem covering up Randy's failed drug tests I'm sure he didn't have a problem doing it with academics as well

It's no secret Gebbia was our #1 QB target. Staff must feel pretty good here. Thinking we could have grabbed Coan if we really wanted.

For me, it would be crazy if we could have had Coan and just decided to pass on him. You get both committments here if you can.

Kids want to be told they are THE guy

Riley will not change what he does...

Adding the TE reverse after Michigan State ran it against us worked pretty well.
That's putting in one play. It's not a complete overhaul of the offense.

How many offensive minded head coaches have you seen make a complete overhaul of their offense

Call me a hater...but I find joy in knowing the BlueJays didn't make the big dance...

    Me TOO

I can't stand McValley...I am shocked he has the class coming in that he does. I think they should have hired Collins or Wojo instead of him.

Can't stand him because your coach isn't able to beat him? Lets look here if Greg doesn't get hired by CU that means Doug never comes to Creighton. Creighton would most likely still be in the MV so all in all it was a genius move

Under your smartassery, there is some truth. We were clearly capable of beating Purdue, we just didn't have the right chemistry that day. Our QB was out, our defense was all sorts of sloppy and the staff was in panic mode. Things started clicking way too late.

The Wisconsin loss is still the friggin worst.

    The Ball State loss*

    That TT drubbing

    The Purdue drubbing

I would put those 3 losses ahead of Wisconsin.

There's absolutely no way I'd put any of those games above either loss to Wisconsin in the B1G title game or the 408 game

See...by not putting Purdue over those...it goes to show how crappy people though things were last year and how lowered the expectations became.

We had a backup QB playing on the road it's a bad loss but nothing like the Wisconsin games

Getting run out of the building in the Big 10 championship game on National Television by a mediocre Wisconsin team has been the most embarrassing game I've ever watched

Everyone on Purdue's team is a backup...

Wisconsin's QB was Curt Phillips who the #### is Curt Phillps

He threw 6 passes and they scored 70

How do you get better at tackling if you're not practicing tackling and hitting live? This is a topic I'd like to hear more from players than from coaches and regulators. I think I'd have a hard time listening to a coach after a game go on to critique missed tackles or poor tackling if it's from a coach who also says they don't do much full contact in season.

+1 for the Harry Potter reference, had a lazy Sunday yesterday and watched that installment. My friend and I talked about how Umbridge was our least favorite character because of how much of a turd burglar she was.

She's so easy to hate. In terms of most despised characters in that universe, Voldemort would be #1, but Umbridge is my #2.

Yes but it's easy to respect the power of Voldemort......Umbridge was just a fat toad

(Got in the Harry Potter reference for the year)
