Jano! Best of luck young man! Would be a great Chicago Bear!
Hate to say it but would do well in the Packers system
-
Gebbia.....Always have to take the QB
Can survive without great CBs and WRs
Hard to win a National Championship without great QB play
-
Seems like a position where we would desire some continuity, not a revolving door.
Also someone that knows Nebraska
-
It shows me that you're obsessed.
But I get that you need to pillory him.
Funny how you're the one that can't move on from a coach that we fired over a year ago

yeah, they just looked dejected and disinterested on the sideline during 7 losses (kind of like how Coach Riley looked at times. Note, I don't think he was disinterested (I think it's the opposite), but his body language looked that way. See why it's hard to trust "body language" as a gauge?
What's the word you used "Perception?"
It's pretty easy to tell the difference between a coach who is ready to melt down at any point and the coach who has a calm demeanor
What message does this send to your players? It shows me that he gave up

Yep, Bo scares his players so badly that they cower in a corner, afraid to make plays... oh wait, or they yell at him on the sideline. You guys are such pretzels.
People who post that kind of clip and claim its evidence of underlying problems haven't ever played a sport or be in the military. Men get heated. It happens. Doesn't change the level of love and respect you have for each other.
and
Pelini said Monday that he has a disciplined team that represents the state and university well and that he didn't think Stafford was being disrespectful.
"The only thing you can criticize Daimion Stafford for was wanting to win so bad," Pelini said. "He was upset. He should be upset. We gave up a touchdown."
Pelini said he was trying to calm Stafford, who later in the game made a key interception and fumble recovery. Nebraska (No. 14 BCS, No. 16 AP) won 32-23.
"I love the guy. He's an emotional leader," Pelini said. "Let me tell you, it's an emotional game. That stuff happens. That's not the first time that's ever happened. That happens on the practice field. It's no big deal to me."
I'm doubt that's how the interviews went after the Wisky game in the Big 10 championship
It's funny how I didn't notice any kids yelling back at the coaches this year??

Will finally be nice to not have to send the guys to QB guru when we actually have one on campus
-
Problem with that whole "Bo scared his players" theory is that the vast majority of his players loved him where ever he's been. You can find a ton of articles on the topic from NU, LSU and OU.
Some husker fans love to pillory the guy... And the only reason I can figure it's so important for them to vilify him is that they know how unreasonable they are for having twice wanted a .700+ coach fired.
-
love these guys in the morning. generally, do a very good job and bring interesting perspectives.
Only complaint is that Benning will sometimes over complicate and over analyze things. I think he sometimes wants the subject to sounds more confusing than it actually is so he can take the "i am a former player and have been in a locker room, you havent. I know this stuff and you dont" route.
I take it more of him trying to give us insight from the locker room which I can appreciate

Quite a list for a young pup

ive got no problem with Bo keeping Bando on the team for snagging bikes, I mean if the almighty DR Tom can play some of the guys he did after what they pulled this is no biggie.Benning has become a total stooge.
They are so predictable in their agenda, it's not even amusing anymore. Banderas should count himself lucky that "hulk smash" gave his kid another chance after the bike incident.
I have no problem with it either. Just wonder why Banderas is going to go on the whining offensive now.
What I do know is that the whole"I leaned more as a JR than in my first two seasons" argument is specious. Because most kids make their big jump around that time. That's when 85% finally figure out how to take coaching at the college level (and the kids in front of them have graduated).
You sure do have some great insight. The Linebackers were night and day better this last season than they have been for a long time

One of the key pieces to what I think is going to be a strong secondary next year
-
Just make sure whoever we bring in is hungry to get on that recruiting trail
-
At least Arizona State won't have a say

Guys! The choice is obvious!

I was hoping for a former Beast of a BLACKSHIRT to come coach the D-Line.. How sweet that could be for recruiting.
Give us a name(s) who would fit that description.
Of coarse i have no Idea if they can coach.. But Winstrom, Peters, to name a few. Who could sell playing D-Line and being a blackShirts better then them?
Please be joking.
Why?
What is Peter going to do as coach, just tell them how he did it in the 90s? Also, any 17 year old kid will have no idea who he is, so it's not like he would be a great recruiter just because of his name.
Nothing against guys like Peter and Wistrom, but they aren't coaches. They are not in the coaching profession, they shouldn't be considered.
I get what yall are saying and probably right. I was thinking more of a recruiting area. I know if former legends walked through my door to recruit me eye would be all ears and eyes. Its mainly a pipe dream i get it.
If the Thompson guy can coach and recruit sign him up.
These high school kids weren't even alive to watch those guys play let alone know who they are
-
Lets also not forget that we're going to pay this guy like $300,000 to not coach next year (unless it was for cause) so I doubt we go pick up someone high end. It will probably be a GA or someone we already paying.
Apparently you missed the entire first page.
I saw mention of the GA not the wage. I was just adding that fact. But thanks for being a dick about it.
-
I remember when everybody was ripping me a new one when I said I wasn't impressed with this hire. Gotta say I haven't seen anything that makes me think I was wrong.
#9 run defense in the country?
I'd say good coach.......terrible recruiter

I like the Thompson idea.
If we're going outside the program, how about Chris Kiffin from Ole Miss?

Hate to say it but that would prolly be a step back for him.....He wouldn't have the cash to throw at recruits

If Tavita does get the nod as the D-line coach, I would be all for it. He would be a young, energetic guy who can relate to the current players, and would probably be a stud recruiter.
I want another Bray/Williams -type coach. If Thompson fits that bill I'm all in.
I'm all for bringing in a guy with Hawaiian ties!
Why?
I was thinking more along the lines of this

Big fan of that duo in the morning...they do good work

He seemed like a pure throwback who would have been great in the 80's and 90's not such a great fit in 2016
