There is no doubt that Nebraska/trev needs to do everything they can to get a big name coach like urban to get some talent and toughness into this program. I don’t care who the coach is these players are not the level they need to be. You can’t win with a few good players and a whole bunch of average at best.

Based on Frost's accomplishments before Nebraska, I see this as a Nebraska problem. This program has been without direction for over 20 years now, something is just wrong in Lincoln. Why would any great Coach now risk their career coming to Nebraska? How will a future Head Coach recruit to Lincoln?
Just the facts Ma'am.......Please use facts to tell me I'm wrong.
I’m not sure an urban or stoops is risking their career future. Let’s be honest they are towards the end anyway. But maybe they want one more challenge. Nebraska is no worse than kstate. Minnisota. Wisconsin in terms of a place to live , goto school , etc. But yet those teams compete with recruits. Nebraska can also.

I also think this means two things:
1) There is a core of players on this team that believe in Joseph/Whipple/Applewhite....maybe to a certian extent Raiola
2)Trev and Mickey believe tere are 4-5 winnable games still remaining on the schedule. No way we have a chance accomplishing that with Frost
I agree. When I watched our players. They were not players playing to save their coach.

He has been at his job for just over a year. He’s fine.
Agree. Talk of firing trev is crazy. He gave his coach a chance. The coach failed more than anyone thought he could. Trev pulled the trigger to show we are serious. What else could you ask for

I ask because I don’t know but is there an option on staff to be new defensive coordinator?

Nobody is going to be hired until December. If Mickey pulls a Dabo and turns a season around, he makes himself a serious candidate. Otherwise, it’s talk to current coaches thru their agents for the new 2+ months.
I hope Mickey does well but the big few names are the goal and maybe they can then mentor him to take over

Urban or Stoops would be about the only ones they could have already.....
Honestly hope you are right. Neither will be here long but I think they could right the ship. And hopefully bring someone with them that can then continue it. I think asking for 8-10 wins each year isn’t over reaching for this program. Compete for the west and win it every now and then. This is realistic I think.

They have to have someone on deck.
Makes no sense to do this now and lose the money. Wonder if he will stand up there like Mike Riley and field questions
I hope they don’t have someone already because I fear it isn’t someone huge like urban or stoops

Okay, wow...
My point is that if players are continually told they are good enough, they might think it's an easy fix. Just fix execution.
Meanwhile, all these "small" schools (at least the ones NU fans look down upon) are playing with a chip on their shoulders and going above and beyond in effort AND execution.
I know I'm not a wordsmith, but not sure why what I said was so complicated.
You are not wrong. Kids need to be motivated. This coaching staff has never done that

Just reaffirmed what we already knew. When NU faces a team with a quality coach we are going to lose a one score game. See Fitzgerald. See Helton.
Clay Helton is a good coach who came in with a great game plan and was able to get his guys to execute it perfectly.
Honestly, Georgia Southern deserved that win more than NU.
He coached his players an more importantly motivated his players. They were flying around the field. Looked like stronger and faster athletes and that is not what I supposed to happen vs a power 5 team

Reach for urban and work your way down. National championship is a long way away if ever but winning 8-10 games a year is not out of the question and honestly being in the big 10 is a great goal to have. It is going to take a. Big name proven coach to bring in good players, good assistants and bring back the fans. Oh yah and actually coach a game without stupid mistakes each week. Urban is the best guy to do that. Pay him 10 million a year and have him bring it in heir apparent like O’Brien and pay that guy 8 million a year. The money is at Nebraska. Use it to get back on track and more money will come.

Frost is a selfish egotistical person. If he had any live for this team he would see and admit he isn’t the man and walk away

If our guys had coaches they might be pretty good.
I’m not sure about that. They look slower, weaker and dumber than the other players we have played this year

How can they not see hill is trash

Nebraska players look lazy and unmotivated. Frost and his coaches do not take their job seriously. They do not motivate. Pathetic to see that many fans every week spend money and time for this type of effort. If frost isn’t gone in October the big ten should kick us out

Again, there is no comparing BIG12 defenses to those in the BIG10. KSU has 140 total yards at half. Adrian completing 55% of his passes for a total 60 yards. Certainly, he is fitting in well, but to pretend they are a juggernaut just isn't true.
I agree but I see a line that explodes and blocks. I see a running back that hits a hole hard. I see a coach that gives the ball to a rb inside the 5 and manages his qb. Motivational coaching goes a long way when you don’t have those 5 stars

Watching him play right now against Missouri. He looks good and I agree with him, the talent around him does look better than anything he had at nebraska. It appears to be a great decision to move on for him.
I can’t accept ksux can is more attractive for recruits. They players they have obviously play harder. All of this falls on frost. More evidence that it is time for a change.

I think we have talent on the team, just not much in the coaching staff.
Agreed. There are some players but they aren’t playing for this coach. They don’t have any fire or heart and that comes from the motivation of a good leader

I believe its close to $15 Million, but I might be wrong.
If I'm Trev Alberts for the betterment of the program I would pull the trigger after today's game. It's time for this to be over.
No reason to waste over 7 million for 3 weeks That money can go to urban’s assistant/heir apparent

I’m tired of hearing new system. New players. How long have these kids been playing football? Missed tackles and missed assignments and lack of fire has nothing to do with systems.
-
Not even getting mad. 2nd game into the season and my apathy for this team has set in.

But he does bring in great players, great coaches, and wins Or I guess we can just hire that great guy and keep whining about how bad our team is. And I’m not so sure great morals were in high priority in the 90s when everyone was all happy and treating the players as gods
