I doubt that.
It really doesn’t matter. I feel called to no longer be here.

I swear I can see individuals stance on Christianity based on posts alone.

So 6 Big Ten coaches are better than the previous coach of the year? Gaaaawd damn there’s some amazing coaches in the B1G!...

I’ve always thought that it should be the intro of “Killing Fields.”

My expectation is a bowl game. I don’t give a rats a$$ if it’s 7, or 6 wins to get there.

The NCAA move is simply Cover Your Ass, in my opinion. Cart making an attempt to get in front of the horses and look like they are "on top of things". Have they really improved anything and made it better by what they said and did?
This (hopefully) does not apply to the Nebraska situation, but in researching this subject I found this quote from the Mayo Clinic:
We all know that everybody is trying to get an edge. Duval clearly has one right now and I think we are lucky to have him. However this is his first year integrating his method into what Nebraska has done, under Boyd Epley for decades. None of this stuff is publicized. It's
likea Trade Secret. If you have an edge you want to keep it. Much of this discussion has been acting as if the problem is all workout-related (intensity) or condition-related (as in poorly-conditioned players doing too much too fast). I'm suggesting that there may be a third leg to this and it could be the workout/supplements combination. If I were a reporter (or Athletic Director Bill Moos) my questions would revolve around finding any differences between the UCF (or other previous Duval "makeovers") and the one currently going on at Nebraska when it comes to what the players are ingesting. I'm guessing that people in the know are not going to want to be too forthcoming with answers, since this involves a competitive edge, but there is a big difference between answering a reporters question and one from your Athletic Director. If I were a reporter, I'd want to know if the AD has asked such questions, or if he might be trying to maintain plausible deniability by not asking the questions. This could be even be a problem that has nothing to do with the institution, but is related to a player taking something to try to gain an edge, unbeknownst to the coaches. I'm no doctor so I don't know if it is possible, but I would think that there might need to be some scrutiny on the two Nebraska players affected and their blood work.
This is a very interesting point you brought up; I’m going to use a pro hormone called “Tren” as an example.
Several years back I was talking to a college football player that had a teammate that swore he suffered a leg injury from using Tren. It happened while he was just running.
Tren is a lean muscle builder that dries your muscles to the point where you have to drink a lot of water while using it otherwise you won’t have much lubricant in the muscle, and body.
I know a guy that had a max bench press of 450lbs., and he tore his pectoral muscle on a 200lb. warm up while using Tren. He couldn’t lift for a long time afterwards.
My point is: If one were using something like this- it’s possible that they could end-up damaging more muscle than what’s planned, causing more significant problems.
There may be others on this board that have more knowledge/insight than I do on this topic, so feel free to chime in.

I’m glad these two kids are okay. Still can’t believe this happened to 13 kids at Iowa in one year.

It is. Tyrone Willingham became a volunteer coach at Stanford until his duties in the college football playoff committee took him elsewhere. And it was coaching something he truly loved.
Off topic, but are you also the Jacky Moon Joe?

As far as the title goes, “Very Important Recruiting class ?”, I noticed this on Rivals: in the last 3 years- we’ve recruited 9 players each year with a rating of 5.7, or higher . This year we have 10 players with a rating of 5.7, or higher, and we aren’t even done with recruiting yet.

All I know is there is some people on this board I would not want to be in charge of managing finances for any organization. Just because Lincoln has the $$ and is in good financial situation. Doesn't mean we should say oh well, mike is a good guy- good business move on his part. Bend us over- it's no big deal we are rich.
To me it's about principle and letter of the law per the contract. If he is contracted to accept an offer at fair market value then that's what he should do. 50k is ridiculous at P5 level.
Agreed. Does then mean we can finally put the “Mike Riley is nice guy” s#!t to rest now?

I know that this is a recruiting topic, but not talking specific guys.
This may come across as pessimistic, but not intended that way. Does anyone feel as if this may be one of SF's most important class. I know that his staff will not and did not have a complete cycle this time around, but on the other hand, he will probably NEVER be as popular and "hot" as he is right now. Everyone knows him ( almost 5-6 COY), UCF is still making espn... etc...
Most of us agree that next year could be rough (still winning season).... after a year away from the awards and media, is it possible that the staff loses "clout"....even if our record improves by a few games. I whole heartedly believe that things will turn around, but I also feel as if he needs to capitalize on the wave of momentum that may not happen again for awhile.
Hopefully we can swing a few more big time guys in the next 3 weeks. It takes the athletes and coaching to regain the status it takes to consistently recruit at a high level.
I wouldn’t be too worried. He’ll still be one of the most popular coaches around, and Riley’s recruiting classes looked fairly decent on paper, so it’s not like Frost has nothing to work with.

So UCF really green lit a transfer, just not to Nebraska? Can we please schedule them soon and remind them they are a G5 team? I'm happy for them and their season and all, but a lot of their fans have been total dicks about this situation and now it sounds like their admins are too.
I agree, but at the same time- they did give the entire coaching staff National Championship bonuses

Googled the score out of curiosity. 0 - 3 midway thru the second quarter. Typical SEC game.
-
Wait, so they think we’re going to finish 5th in our division??? If so, I’m willing to bet that we’ll finish better than that.
-
I usually transfer too when I’m about to be coached by an undefeated coaching staff that yields a head-coach fancied with coach of the year awards. Just kidding... but seriously.

This thread is a good example of what’s wrong with college football.

I’ll watch it, but I’m still not watching the game
EDIT: it actually might be funny, because Scott hates the SEC

Happy Birthday Scott!!!!
It seems like it was yesterday when you, and who ever it was (Matt?), my brother, and I were throwing footballs in the Meadow Wood parking lot. Man time flies!

Smart move, Stanley.

It’s not this topic that’s driving me away, and I’m not angry an any way, honestly.
I repented just recently, and my life has changed dramatically. I don’t expect anyone to believe me; I feel Him close to me, and He’s been speaking to me, if that makes any sense. I don’t really know how to discribe it in words.
I feel called to leave, and I want to obey.
Honestly no hard feelings to anyone here, I really mean that. I’m not angry at anyone, or anything that was said. I’m actually really happy.
