    Narrator's voice: "It doesn't."

The expectation was that running backs and o-line would perform better than last year.  More career starts returning on o-line compared to beginning of last season.  Gates sucked, he’s not missed.  Tre Bryant was dynamic until the knee, but the RBs were expected to put up better numbers than last year (arguably due to Frost offense and o-line improvement).

He threw for a 70% completion percentage.

The fact that our special teams let them run a touchdown back and our kicker missed a field goal was not his fault. Our offensive line got horrible push on multiple 3rd & shorts. That was just painful to watch.

We should have won the game 23-17.

    Well said

  3. As I sit here and watch N.C. State and Iowa State play tough gritty defense against solid top-10 teams it makes me extremely irritated to think about the excuses regarding a lack of talent.  What is the 5-year avaerage recruiting rank for these two schools, maybe 40 for NC State and 60+ for ISU?  Yet here they are maximizing a group of guys and playing great team football while our guys get half-coached and then the staff conveniently blames a need to change schemes and having a lack of proper players.

i think we win today by a TD, but I think a loss today should be grounds to have Riley and crew out ASAP.

That's probably why each of the last two games have come down to the end.....

In fairness they wore down Rutgers and abandoned the passing game, content to cruise to a win, and Illinois never came down to the end.

I will give you N I'll. but I'm not sure what you mean by the "last 2" going down to the end.

  5. Call me crazy but Nebraska matches up really well against Wisconsin.

They have a weak to moderate-armed quarterback who will not threaten the secondary and I think our front seven can slow down or contain their short game and running game pretty well.

I'm less worried about the offense - I think they will find a way to score 17-20 and I don't see Wisconsin scoring that many.

I just don't see us winning more than 7 games next year if Lee is the starter.

Why? Because he is a transfer from Tulane?

If he is the best Quarterback and wins the job why would 7 wins be the ceiling?

His stats at Tulane weren't very good, but he didn't have a great team around him.

Lee could have great talent, good arm, and be able to read defenses, but I'm more worried about the guys he is going to be throwing to and the o-line's ability to protect him.

Yes the O-Line is concerning and the WR corps takes a hit.

But he is suggesting that Lee specifically is the reason we would only win 7 if he starts.

The last time yards/rushing attempt were so low -- 2007, Callahan's last year. That has to improve and it starts with the O-line.
