  1. The expectation was that running backs and o-line would perform better than last year. More career starts returning on o-line compared to beginning of last season. Gates sucked, he’s not missed. Tre Bryant was dynamic until the knee, but the RBs were expected to put up better numbers than last year (arguably due to Frost offense and o-line improvement).
  2. Remember when Riley and company ran the ball down UCLA’s throat. It feels like this team has as much talent at o-line and RB as that team. Why couldn’t they have done that today?!?! So frustrating...
  3. Isn’t one of the best coaches in the country supposed to be able to take a talent pool, coach them up over 6-8 months, and beat a Troy or Purdue with anyone at QB?
  4. D allowing 10 yards / carry to Minnesota... sigh burn the blackshirts please
  5. I always thought it would have been interesting to see tommy move to safety, but there just wasn’t another option at QB.
  6. As I sit here and watch N.C. State and Iowa State play tough gritty defense against solid top-10 teams it makes me extremely irritated to think about the excuses regarding a lack of talent. What is the 5-year avaerage recruiting rank for these two schools, maybe 40 for NC State and 60+ for ISU? Yet here they are maximizing a group of guys and playing great team football while our guys get half-coached and then the staff conveniently blames a need to change schemes and having a lack of proper players. i think we win today by a TD, but I think a loss today should be grounds to have Riley and crew out ASAP.
  7. Frost seems to make smart calculated decisions when it comes to his career. He may hang at UCF until a premier coaching job opens - FSU, Alabama - and then go there vs a Nebraska team mired in a decade of mediocrity.
  8. Anyone still believing we can come back and win this game?
  9. Over/under on the number of times OSU punts? 3? 2?
  10. Ahhh well then we agree! If Wisc is giving 6+ take the Huskers and the points and have a steak dinner at Flemings on the sports book!
  11. In fairness they wore down Rutgers and abandoned the passing game, content to cruise to a win, and Illinois never came down to the end. I will give you N I'll. but I'm not sure what you mean by the "last 2" going down to the end.
  12. Call me crazy but Nebraska matches up really well against Wisconsin. They have a weak to moderate-armed quarterback who will not threaten the secondary and I think our front seven can slow down or contain their short game and running game pretty well. I'm less worried about the offense - I think they will find a way to score 17-20 and I don't see Wisconsin scoring that many.
  13. I'd guess 7-5 next year. Anything more is a bonus. Anything less is a hot seat for the coach.
  14. Why? Because he is a transfer from Tulane? If he is the best Quarterback and wins the job why would 7 wins be the ceiling? His stats at Tulane weren't very good, but he didn't have a great team around him. Lee could have great talent, good arm, and be able to read defenses, but I'm more worried about the guys he is going to be throwing to and the o-line's ability to protect him. Yes the O-Line is concerning and the WR corps takes a hit. But he is suggesting that Lee specifically is the reason we would only win 7 if he starts. The last time yards/rushing attempt were so low -- 2007, Callahan's last year. That has to improve and it starts with the O-line.
  15. Nailed it, this was the season to make the run. It's an uphill fight next year.
